Please help with sand returning to pool!

On a side note I have been in this property for about 5 years and last year was the first with sand so I am hoping all is plumbed properly, however that's my next guess if its not the valve. Thanks again.

Please help with sand returning to pool!

Always appreciate everyone's feedback. Thanks so much. I did fill the filter with a good amount of water and then added sand very carefully (pipe covered). The multiport valve is older. Handle is tough to move sometimes. Often I can hear gurgling near it and I am not convinced it always...

Hi thanks for the reply. Yes it's sand. At the end of last pool season (august/september) I was getting it in the pool. I decided to wait until the start of this season to shop vac out the dry sand and check the laterals again. After inspecting the laterals and purchasing new sand and double...

Good morning. Wondering about backwashing with newly added stabilizer. Your recommendations were spot on yesterday! PH is 7.4, TA is 70. I started stabilizer last night via sock method. I am going to add liquid chlorine today but I anticipate the pressure rising in sand filter due to water...

Opening my pool to gross water

Hi. Just opening pool to a mixture of unclear, algae, and some leaf muck that accidentally slipped off cover into pool. Mix that with a bunch of tadpoles and it's not a pretty sight! I am wondering if I should still do water test before starting slam or drop some chlorine before water sample...

Help with SLAM and poolmath app

Yes I had CYA levels set for last year. I did empty water before closing in the Fall. I tested the CYA twice this morning just to be sure. I will add to bring CYA up because I need to SLAM. Thanks again, appreciate the help.

Help with SLAM and poolmath app

Also, should I leave the CYA alone until after I SLAM and clean pool because I will need to backwash. Water is still green and not clean yet. When I did the test for CYA there wasn't even a hint of cloudy.

I am back to the site after opening my pool last week. Just became introduced to poolmath app. I measured all of my levels and installed the poolmath app on my phone. I don't understand how to use the app to help with what my slam chlorine levels should be. Last year I just used the pool...

Problem with wiring that attaches to start capacitor

Not sure if anyone has had this happen but when I tried to switch out a bad start capacitor for a new one the connector that slides onto the capacitor broke off from the wire. I have stripped some of the insulator covering on the wire but I can't seem to find where to buy the flag connector. I...

help with bright green pool please

D.E. it will be for future use. I learned my lesson on buying the overpriced sparkle up.... but makes sense to use it up. I am going to add it as directed in the link provided to me above and watch it closely to backwash and re-add as needed. Thank you very much.

Patience.....not my strong suit! O.k. will bring fc back to 20. I have bioguard sparkle up. Directions for my sand filter are 3 cups poured in diluted to skimmer. Did that first time and pressure went from 13 to 25 within 15 minutes. Had to backwash right away. Now I add about 1/2 to 1 cup...

help with bright green pool please

Coloring has gone to a light blue but water is still very cloudy. Any thoughts on adding a clarifyer or should I just let it filter. I suspect my sand filter isn't working at optimum level because of the cloudiness.
