Advice needed - replacing 5 foot retaining wall very near pool

Thanks for you input @jimmythegreek I'm not sure what you mean by engineered and stamed? The distance from the wall to the concrete is only 2 feet. The inspector says he will not pass the wall if it doesn't have a 6ft geo grid on the top layer. The wall will be 5ft tall at most. Moving the...

Advice needed - replacing 5 foot retaining wall very near pool

Hello TFP! I really need some advice. I have (had) an old tie retaining wall at the back of my property that is about 1.5 to 2 feet from my pool deck and about 6 feet at the shortest point to my pool stairs (probably 9 feet from the pool walls). We hired a company to replace the tie wall with...

    Pool Safety Cover

After installing a new liner this summer I broke down and decided to get a new safety cover. (20x40 GLI Value-X solid with small mesh center) Not so much for the safety aspect, more so for better looks, longer lasting, easier to install (after setting the anchors) and best of all, not having...

Vinyl Liner PICTURE Pattern Roundup - PICTURES AND NAME OF LINER ONLY PLEASE

Finally got my liner installed. Since I was doing it myself for the first time I went with the cheapest liner I could get just in case I messed it up. We installed the GLI Panama 20 mil. We are very happy with the liner.

Stripped Screws in Hayward Main Drain Gasket

I had the same problem. I discovered my loose screw while prepping for a new liner install so the water was already drained. I emailed hayward to ask their advice and and they said: "Please use the part number WGX1048EKIT, this is a brass insert and screw kit." Assuming your screw type is...

HELP - New liner install starting to float - Need advice

i ended sucking most of it out with a transfer pump and hose behind the liner, but there is still some left. Hoping as the pool fills it will press it all out where ever it came in from. I think draining and redoing is too risky and might cause more problems having already put the main drain...

HELP - New liner install starting to float - Need advice

I did not have a ground water issue before that I know of. However, when I had the liner out I had one spot at the bottom of the pool wall where it meets the floor, always leaking water. quite a bit actually. Especially when it rained. I did my best to patch that up, but I'm almost certain...

HELP - New liner install starting to float - Need advice

This is not a new pool. The liner i'm replacing was 11 years old. We've lived here 8 years and this is the first time I had to replace the liner (previous owner had a liner installed in 2008). I'm wondering, should i continue to fill the pool until I can shut off the vacuums and then deal...

HELP - New liner install starting to float - Need advice

I should have waited but decided to go ahead and install my liner yesterday. (In-ground 20 x 40) The install went great and had a perfectly fitted wrinkle free liner. However, I'm filling it with a garden hose so that is going to take 24 hours plus. The bad news is that it has been raining...

Help: Main Drain body screw hole stripped (Vinyl inground pool)

I'm working on replacing my liner and have the liner off and doing some floor repair. I discovered one of the holes in the main drain body is stripped. The hayward screw set for the drain is SPX1039Z18 Here are the options I have thought of: leave that one screw out hoping the new liner will...

Idntifying Vinyl Liner from serial number tag.

The pool is supposedly 32 years old. I bought our home 8 years ago and the pool builder was not given or known. The liner was supposedly installed in 2008 and has lasted us the last 8 years since we've lived here. I did email Latham. I will try the others as well. Thanks!

Advice needed! replacing in-ground vinyl liner - pool floor and mud

Thanks so much for your input. Regarding the hopper angle and flat to transition measurements, those are the two that I have the most concern about. The shallow break and where it meets the hopper are not very defined. If there is an error in measurement, is it better to err on the shorter or...

Advice needed! replacing in-ground vinyl liner - pool floor and mud

Thanks for the reply, the walls are actually a composite material, not steel. Does that make a difference? The seepage doesn't seem to be too bad. I still have my old liner that i moved out of the way so i could measure the pool properly. Should i spread it out in case of rain? I'm afraid it...

Advice needed! replacing in-ground vinyl liner - pool floor and mud

I'm replacing my liner and I see mud around the edges where the wall meets the floor and it looks like ground water may be seeping in. Is this dirt coming through from behind the wall or the floor dissolving where the water is seeping in. Probably a bit of both. Any thoughts? The floor is...
