When to fix skimmer leak (AGP)

Everyone has great suggestions and thats what I was going to do, but at the end of the season! I'm hoping to get an idea of epoxy or sealant for the inside under the face plate just as a temporary fix for the next few months to prevent the water loss

When to fix skimmer leak (AGP)

Any other opinions? Has anyone had any luck with a sealant on the inside of the pool at the skimmer plate? Like a marine epoxy

When to fix skimmer leak (AGP)

I had a feeling..... according to the old home owners, the pool was originally purchased in 2006 and liner was replaced in 2015

When to fix skimmer leak (AGP)

Sorry, it's not a great picture but it's hard because it's under the deck! You can see the drippy marks though

When to fix skimmer leak (AGP)

Hey everyone! I discovered a small leak under my skimmer, on the outside of the pool wall... I'm assuming the gasket is done. I ordered a new skimmer (Hayward Dyna Skim 1091WM) because it was on sale, and then of course I started to read up on it and the process seems more difficult than what I...

Week 1 of first time pool owner & opener

Oh, also is my pool math app hooked up to my account? I can't see my logs on the webpage, but I did buy the premium version. Also can my fiance get the app on his phone and we share the same pool data?

I will bring the sample in just to make sure for the metals I suppose, just in case! The old owners of the house used pucks, and our fill/rain water is less than 7 so upon opening it was quite low (originally 6.5 after I filled for the first time.) I was worried about my heater, so I obviously...

Good call! It's hard when you're a perfectionist!! I had my fiance vacuum the pool and he said it would be easier if he just got in to do it... and I said ok fine 🤣 then when he was done, I jumped in too! A nice 72 without the heater or solar cover set up! I am still interested in the answers...

Update: around 4 I added 2 lbs of borax to raise pH to 7.6.... just tested now FC 7.5 ppm PH 7.8 TA 110 Sad. I know they are still in range but still! I assume my 8000 gal estimate is off? I added the amount of LC pool math said to do and it was perfect! Should I continue my calculations...

Bump, still looking for an answer! I'm hoping to change out the fittings that insert into both the intake and discharge side of the filter. But I need to know what possible issues I will be running into when I do it/I need to have all the pieces with me when I do, thanks to extended curb side...

Potentially the 2 stupidest question you will see? Pump and return hose question

Thank you both so much for advice and reassurance about the pump! It's so hard knowing what you're doing right or not when you have no reference point. TFP community for the win! :lovetfp:

Potentially the 2 stupidest question you will see? Pump and return hose question

Hi guys - as a first time pool owner with older equipment, I have been having a hard time figuring out what's normal and what isn't. When I initially turned my pump on, the water coming into it from the pool was rushing in and creating lots of "crashing water" (that's the only term I could think...

Update: I found this in the manual, so maybe not pvc cement but rather permatex #2 "Screw other straight adapter, using Teflon pipe sealant tape or Permatex No. 2, securely into opening in control valve marked PUMP. (Do not overtighten.)"

Hi everyone! I'm trying to fix up all the leaks I've encountered after opening up my pool for season. First year with a pool for me, but this pool was installed in 2006 and I have a feeling some of the connections are from the original start up. I noticed a small leak coming from the underside...

First Water Test Results + Questions

That's a good tip on the filling, I can't believe I didn't think of that. I will do that when I'm on the filling stage. I will check the fill water for TA, but I am concerned about the pH staying low for too long because of my heater. Hopefully refilling it will adjust the TA to a more...

How tall should the weir be?

My question is related to the height of the weir in comparison to the inside height of the skimmer opening. Unfortunately I could not find a weir anywhere, and when I google the make and model of the skimmer (Make:Atlantic, Model: Paws, 22-9117-56), nothing comes up which is frustrating! I...

First Water Test Results + Questions

Thanks for the reply! By draining only 1/3, that would only bring my cya to 90, seems high still!! Half would bring it to 60, but pool math says to drain 5-10% extra to account for error. As for the DPD test, I did have a feeling it should be more pink. I guess it's just because I have almost...

First Water Test Results + Questions

Hi! I did my first tests with the K-2006C kit after the water circulated for 4 hours. I am planning to do another test tomorrow after it's been running for 24, but these are the prelims FC- 1 ppm (see question and pic) CC- 0 pH 6.5 (pH probe); with test kit it took 13 drops base demand...

    Am I missing a part?

Update: Well I figured out that the light gets screwed on there. And it has a flow director attached *face palm* The worst part was that I figured it out by checking on the status of the filling of the pool and saw it all flowing out of the return jet opening! *bigger face palm* I did try to...
