Help determining valve setup and spa drain when pump off new to me pool

Oh dirk sorry missed your reply. Right, I doubt we'd run pool heater regularly. So many warm days here, the house is usually pooled out before summer is over. heating it only shifts the usage block right or left, doesn't seem to extend it which is why never added it to the last one. But who...

Help determining valve setup and spa drain when pump off new to me pool

thanks for the info and help guys. Yeah guess i'll leave it. Also asked the local pool supply who does repairs too when i went by to grab something and didn't get the drift it was unusual in the area as long as the pool was filtered. I'll move on to more cleanup and automation reading next.

Help determining valve setup and spa drain when pump off new to me pool

thanks for the assist. Yeah automation is high on the cleanup list. Correct 2 pumps, heater is on spa pump. there's 4 spa jets, one return in the spa (besides the fountain thing). I think the big question is should this heater be unfiltered, if that's recommended or not lifespan wise...

Help determining valve setup and spa drain when pump off new to me pool

looked more today. Yeah don't think there's anything special just how it was plumbed. Only fresh glue joints from heater replacement are right there at the heater, so doubt any major plumbing change. Wierd it's a custom home , while distressed the owner who built it doesn't look to have cut...

Help determining valve setup and spa drain when pump off new to me pool

i looked closer today, so spa right has 2 drains , one of bottom and one on side so side is the suction side for that spa pump. There is one normal return , then the 4 spinners which run off the spa pump. If i kick on the spa pump it's the bubbler spinner jets which crank up. And one of the...

Help determining valve setup and spa drain when pump off new to me pool

thanks, yes i want to look at automation next, i gotta get caught up on all that. i was wondering about that unfiltered spa jets with the heater. maybe it's due to flow rates and the spinner jets? I didn't even know they had blower jets for these, all new to me. I'll do some reading up on...

Hi dirk, thanks for the response i think that nails it, i'll play bit more with the setup today or so but i think you're right too. yesterday that was sorta what i was thinking but the spa was confusing me, Last night i closed spa return and the valve i thought was spa main, that position...

Help determining valve setup and spa drain when pump off new to me pool

Hi, wonder if someone can help me with a new to me pool, my last one was simple 2 returns with no spa and that was that. In the valve pic i've figured out thus far returns (left batch of 4) [spa wall jet | sconces | pool return | spa fountain thingy in center] suction (right batch of 4) [...

    Stenner vs SWG

\ I'm not really technical enough to know the ph, cya, or about the intelliph recommendations...i've been following that cya thread out of interest though I don't have a cya problem myself...so i'll leave that to the experts here. I'm using about a 1-2 quarts a day here in florida...somewhere...

    Stenner vs SWG

I went the steener route due to: 1) cost, but i got the stenner for 95 bucks new (just happened to catch an ebay deal)...so it kinda swayed me to try it. then I put about 100 bucks in tank, timer, etc. 2) run time, i'm down to running my pump 5 hours. I can dose whatever i need with the steener...

    stenner setup running! yay

The fan has helped the heat in the box a lot since installing it the other day. Though it's been cloudy and cooler the last week, i can tell it's made a big difference. Used to be i'd open the box and worry about the temp...you could tell it was building up but it wasn't tripping the motor...

Stenner - Tubing connection at drum

drilled hole loose fit for intake in the cap. Just drilled another in the tank loose fit for the stenner leak return. Doesn't need to be air tight.

    stenner setup running! yay

Got the vent in and an 60mm 110v case fan. Haven't taken any temp measurements but i've been running the past week forgetting to open the box and the motor has been fine. But this will be extra insurance...it does get pretty warm in there but it hasn't tripped the thermal limit. Still need...

    stenner setup running! yay

well i wasn't thinking the other night and wasn't paying attention, the fan is large 120mm so i've put that on hold...was paying to much attention to the 110v Ran into this specifically for cases...

    Start of my Stenner Build

I'd go for the two hole ( i didn't think of that on my install). small for feed and leak return (i just drilled a hole for the leak return), use the large for filling. That said i only keep mine 1 or 2 turns tight, no problem really to fill. the hoses are heavy duty doesn't hurt disturbing them...

    stenner setup running! yay

I went ahead and ordered a 110v fan, http://www.ebay.com/itm/180926231010?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1439.l2649 it will plug into the other timer outlet and i'll mount it to the venthole next to the motor or on the bottom. If i don't exhaust on the bottom i'll replace that vent...

    stenner setup running! yay

I still have to tidy a few things up, cords, run a conduit and outlet to the enclosure, mount timer stuff, etc, this was a get er done quick thing. Picked up the pump, got an enclosure on ebay pretty cheap...i was going to get the stenner rain hood but i just didn't trust that with the driving...

    stenner pump head orientation

yeah i pulled mine today, there are 3 mount points but putting it on in any other way was at angled positions, i couldn't in otherwords flip it to the exact other side. No biggie turned out to be better in the original position anyways.
