Dusty Pool Water from Tree Removal

I am looking into manually vacuuming to filter. It seems like all I need is a vacuum head and maybe a hose? Wondering if I am able to reuse the polaris hose but maybe I need to get a separate vacuum hose from videos. Do I need to get a good vacuum head or will one at Walmart do in order to get...

Dusty Pool Water from Tree Removal

Hi, We removed 4 trees that were over our pool finally and doing so means a lot of fallen leaves, branches, and dust got into the pool. We have skimmed and fished out as much stuff as we can and am running the filter overnight at high RPM. We've cleaned/brush the pool earlier but noticed there...

    Balancing PH

What if we don’t use the pool regularly? We seem to use it maybe once every two weeks or less. Can we add liquid chlorine over the recommended CH/CYA chart but under SLAM so we don’t have to add everyday? Is there any pros/cons to doing it this way?

    Balancing PH

O Thanks for confirming! Yes, the water line isn’t beautiful with the calcium scale but we will deal with it for now. If you have any tips on maintaining it, please let me know.

    Balancing PH

Hi, So I’ve been testing our pool regularly now for a few months and have regular been adding liquid chlorine according to the CH/CYA chart. Most recently, I’ve noticed a spike in PH and so had gotten some muriatic acid to lower the PH. Since then, it seems like Ph has been a little high every...

    Lowering Alkalinity

Hi, We have an excessive heatwave upon us and I tested the water today. I knew it already needed liquid chlorine so was planning to add some today. My TA is looking to be out of the ideal range. How do I lower this? I have some baking soda that is in the shed that was left over from the...

Away from pool for 1 week

I completed OCLT this morning and my FC and CC remains the same. I think it’s safe to say there isn’t anything such as algae in the water consuming the chlorine. Is this correct? I think I understand that it is just a matter of maintaining my chlorine level daily based on my CYA and not let it...

Away from pool for 1 week

That make sense. My FC definitely dropped below 50-60 CYA at this point. I added enough chlorine in the pool for now and will plan to do OCLT. The pool water isn’t cloudy but greenish .. still somewhat clearish water. to get rid of algae, do I just SLAM until water is clear?

Away from pool for 1 week

Hi, So I’m back from being away from a week. My husband said it looks like the pump was off while we were away. I’m not completely sure what happened as I was almost certain it was on/fine before we left. Anyway, the pool look like a bit greenish and not sure if it’s algae or if it’s bc maybe...

Away from pool for 1 week

Hi, We're heading out of town for a week and I plan to bring our pool up to SLAM before we leave. I've skimmed the forums and I think I have a game plan in place. It's going to be hot and will be in the 90s rest of the week here. - I'm currently filling up my pool with water since it evaporated...

    Water testing issue

Thanks for pointing out where I’d add that in the app! So bring it up to a 6-8 FC before I leave. So right now since my CYA is at 50, my current FC is at 5.5 so it’s within range right? Am I correct to interpret that FC under 4- 8 is ok but when over it is high?

    Water testing issue

just completed another test here and definite shows the increase in chlorine. FC- 5.5 CC- 0.5 TA- 90 CH - 300 CYA 50 Ph - looks in between 7.5-7.8 CI - 5 based on the pool math app, am I supposed to fix anything with the ! ?

    Water testing issue

We're in Elk Grove. Unfortunately, no. It's our first month here. Since neither option seems to work and we don't have a solar cover, can we just put a lot of chlorine in before we leave along with pucks and hope it's some what ok when we come back in a week? Or is this a completely bad idea...

    Water testing issue

Ok so I didn’t have the means to go get liquid chlorine and ended up using 1 lb of 73% cal-hypo in the evening to bump up the chlorine. I just tested the water and this is what I have now- FC - 1.5 ppm CC - 1ppm TA - 100 CH - 325 CYA - 50 CI - 1 PH - 7.5 what I can tell is that my FC...
