    New pump, incredibly frustrating fittings!

This picture from a customer on amazon is the closest I could find to what it should look like, but my hose would not fit around any of the 1.5 inch threaded pvc pieces at home depot, so I'm really not getting how he got that to fit on there.

    New pump, incredibly frustrating fittings!

Please help! I just got a new above ground pool pump on amazon, and it doesn't come with fittings. The outside and inside is threaded, outside is 2.5" I believe and inside is 1.5". the hose that comes with my pool has a 2" threaded end. You'd think it would be easy to find a 2 to 1.5 threaded on...

Decent leak from above ground pool pump

So am I correct for saying I don't need a whole new sand filter, I just need the new pump, like the one I attached in this pic? Not saying I'm going to get this one, but perhaps you all have a suggestion for a good pump for a 6,500 gallon pool.

Decent leak from above ground pool pump

Just took it apart...nothing wrong with the o-ring, everything looks fine. No clue why this is happening. Perhaps the screws are just weak?

Decent leak from above ground pool pump

It's about a 6500 gallon pool. I don't plan to have it forever, but it got us through covid and I figure every year we have it just makes the average cost of swim go down lol. If we got 2 more years out of it I'd be more than content. What I'm more sad about is the fact that once it's gone I'll...

Decent leak from above ground pool pump

So there's nothing that can seal it? I mean if I have to choose between a new pump and filling the pool with water for like 20-30 minutes every 4-5 days I think it's probably cheaper to refill water lol

Decent leak from above ground pool pump

2nd year using this best way pool pump. I know people mention they're not great, and I wasn't expecting a miracle. However it has worked great to keep our pool clean for a whole year and now going on 2. 1 problem though, there's a decent running leak coming from the frame and I'm not sure how I...

Do hot tubs use same chemicals as pools? (For a family member)

My wife's dad just got a hot tub and I was going to bring my tf kit over to test for him today. He said he's been using bromine but it keeps showing up with zero. My assumption is no cya, assuming it works like chlorine in a pool. I've only worked on our pool, not a hot tub. Are they basically...

New dirt/dust on pool floor daily. above ground

Hi everyone, it's been a while! I have learned so much since last summer and have turned other friends to you guys and this way. I have a question though that I hope is simple to answer... My pool looks and basically is crystal clear. However every day when I go out to scrub the floor to check...

Daughter threw dog poop in pool...

Yes, I'm less than thrilled right now to say the least. I'm not home, my wife just texted me. She said they tried to go in and get it but it broke into tiny pieces that they can't get. It was dog poop from outside. WTH am I supposed to do once I get home to fix this issue. I'm hoping I'll laugh...

    Phoenix vicinity- winterizing

Thanks! So what's the deal with the covers? One came with ours but I'm wondering if I'm just setting myself up for a slam when March comes around.

    Phoenix vicinity- winterizing

Well it's kind of that time I can tell where none of us are using the pool anymore because it's a bit too cold, kids are just going and playing at the park more now. If you're from phoenix or have warmer weathered winters (not snowing), what's your method for "winterizing"? What steps do I need...

Season nearing an end...next steps for 1st timer?

I actually did just up it some. It was at 30 and I added about 20 more ppm. Maybe that will allow it to hold longer.

Season nearing an end...next steps for 1st timer?

Well, we got our Costco pool back in March, learned some great lessons from here after struggling to maintain it into June. Ever since I began understanding balancing levels, it has truly been a "TFP" since June! Every night I just go out and toss some liquid chlorine in, vacuum and scrub once a...

    Does this bowing worry you?

So is this something I should fix asap even though it's been ok since March or can I wait until October to drain, move, and put the wood under?

    Does this bowing worry you?

That's kind of scary! I wasn't aware of that at all.

    Does this bowing worry you?

No because from one side to the other was only 1 inch off and when I initially installed it the turf was flat and even from one side to the other. It wasn't until recently that the turf began separating from the side of the pavers and opened up to underneath where the side legs are resting into...

    Does this bowing worry you?

I just measured one side of the water depth to the other, and it's off exactly 1 inch. Under those side legs, well now it appears to be the dirt that is under the artificial turf and it is wedged up between the turf and the pavers. The pavers are really locked in there, so I don't believe it's...

    Does this bowing worry you?

So somehow the side posts for our pool started digging in below the surface level of the artificial turf and is lodged up against the pavers, but dug down below the turf. I'm just so concerned as to if this would cause the pool to collapse over time. Might be kind of hard to see the posts...
