    My Pool - Houston TX

Here you go! The accent is the waterline tile and the rest is the travertine coping. The center circle, around the umbrella plastic piece, is cut from a single tile. I requested that, as they were going to do two halves, as this is much nicer. It was a PITA for them I am sure.

The bench is about 35" below the underneath of the rock. It really needs to be 38" or so.

    My Pool - Houston TX

I don't know how deep the bench is from the mean water line. I will measure. I would make the rocks come up some though. I am 5'10" and when I sit there my hair touches the rocks.

    My Pool - Houston TX

The beach entry is great! Even when the pool is cooler they splash in the beach. My kids are 8, 4, and 3. They do great around the pool. Simple rules. No cunning on concrete. Stay on Brown part "beach" unless you have floats on (the two little ones). They climb the waterfall and jump all the...

    Regulator for side burner?

I bought a regulator that has two feed lines. Bottle, regulator, one hose to grill and one hose to side burner.

    Support for side burner

Do you plan on putting anything heavy? To to let you know I have a Primo ceramic smoker on a shelf with no vertical support below. Just a shelf. That thing weighs almost 200 lb.

    What's Grilling Tonight?

Yeah it's our 3rd annual and it grows every year. The biggest issue is storing the ~50 lb of meat for a couple days. I always like doing pork butt. Haven't made one in a while.

    SWG reading not moving

No. Taylor has an independent test. I would get this and test the salt content yourself prior to troubleshooting the SWCG readout.

    Outdoor Kitchen Question

Cement board can and will absorb water. You need some sort of waterproof coating.

    Do you stucco the backside?

Yes. Hardi can and will absorbe water.

    Concrete counter

Use the same mix but remove any aggregate. Wait for it to cure for 28 days before you sand. After sanding you can stain right away. I can't remember the sealer I used but will look it up and let you know.

Concrete Counters - Anyone do a 3" thickness or more?

I did 1.5" thick. 3" might be a little big. That's a lot of weight too.

    Support for Tile counter overhang

The overhang definitely needs supported. You could use metal t bars to try to discreetly support the weight. How long is the counter? As for the boxes, I set mine in the stone. They are mortared in place.

    Trouble Reading PH Color

That's what I am doing. Guess it's the best way. Just thought that if there was a formula I could keep it on my phone and it would be a little quicker.

    Trouble Reading PH Color

I have the table that is drops vs pool size and gives you MA required. What I was wanting to know is if there is a formula like: ph(starting)=equation based on "number of drops", "after drops ph", & "pool size"
  27. J

    Trouble Reading PH Color

That was my original question. Using the acid demand, let's say my pool is 19k gal. and it takes 2 drops to get to 7.2. Other than checking with PoolMath is there a way to back calculate the starting ph?
  28. J

    Trouble Reading PH Color

Yes, by process of elimination I could do that. However since I have had scale issues and I am concerned about the CSI over winter, I want the piece of mind that knowing the ph gives me.

LaMotte seems to have a lot of pocket ph testers as well.
