If I'm going to convert in the spring, would it be best to stop adding anymore CDX? Or doesn't it really make much difference by next year?

Do you have room to put in a temporary diverter from them pump? A simple union and section of pipe to blast the nasty stuff out temporarily. Then add water, and filter. 2 fold, remove baquacil goo when vacuuming and dilute as you refill to level.

    Fiberglass waterline issue

While I was usi g baquacil products, I would use their Surface cleaner. A small, quarter sized dot on a non-abrasive pad would clean 3-4 feet of surface edge, very easily. Does anyone know if this is suitable for a chlorine/SWG pool?

If you are up for some floc, I have some leftovers from my past life! 2 different flavors, liquid or crystal. Having self medicated my pool with guidance here, dump 2 gallons of 12% LC for the next 8-10 days. You'll clear up your pool and not have to charge your DE again this summer. I...

Please, help me understand the TFP way and why anyone would want to work on their pool daily?

Hope you are doing well. I have made the switch and have been dialing in the SWG RJ'30+ this past week. The DE and SWG have been the best money spent on this pool ever... when I first fired up the SWG on Memorial Day, I added a quart of LC to get balanced. All my numbers are to spec, haven't...

    How to convert during shortage?

I had to adjust the brightness on my phone. You can see the light and darker spots and lines. This has been on the pool floor for a year or two, prior to ever adding chlorine. Hard to see but, I notice it since I am the caretaker. Like the first little dent or scratch on a new car.

Almost a brownish color but faint. My pool is slightly blue in color. I'll get a picture posted if I can tonight

    How to convert during shortage?

I do have stains, stripes that were there before I started. Over the past few years, I dumped thousands of dollars of baquacil shock, Sanitizer and a few times non-chlorine shock to try and kill the white mold.

    Flocculant to Reduce Baqua Goo?

I am now a convert. I started May 1st with a 15 yr baquacil fiberglass pool with a sand filter. In our 13, 700 gallon pool, I believe we dumped close to 23-25 gallons in 2.5-3 weeks. You can see it here. Baquacil conversation process

    How to convert during shortage?

My experience was that once the water cleared up and a relatively low drop in FC overnight, CC was below 1, it was time to change filter media. I had an old sand filter but decided to buy the DE filter which was standing by. I had to remove the sand before removing the filter and it was an...

Baquacil/CDX Conversion to Chlorine then SWG

Funny, got out that thing which came with the CircuPool RJ30+ (some call it a manual). Page 2 of troubleshooting, "Real-Time Salinity and Cell current read zero" It states it will read zero during normal rest cycle. Thanks for the info. Will be testing water tonight since its been in cycle...

Baquacil/CDX Conversion to Chlorine then SWG

No red sensors. When it drops to all 0000's it isn't producing. Did the above, will see if it makes a difference. 1st pic shows how far it dropped since last post. Then after powering off and back on, it counts up to 3400 and starts generating.

Baquacil/CDX Conversion to Chlorine then SWG

When I power it on, it jumps/counts up to 3200-3400 ppm. Slowly falls back to this. Is it normal? I don't see any activity in the chlorine-make-it-happener.

Baquacil/CDX Conversion to Chlorine then SWG

Hows the system running? I got mine installed and running. Drop test was reading salt at 3200, when I power off the RJ30+ and back on, it will climb to 3400 but an hour or more later, its reading 2600-2800 so Im confused. It isn't demanding salt and it running at 50%. I plan to check tonight...

SWG installed. Also added a timer. Don't have a schedule yet, pins still at factory settings. Today at 1430hrs, I fired up the RJ30+. Glad it didn't explode or smoke as I am a novice electrician. Readings from test kit: FC 1 (didn't add anything overnight) pH 7.8 TA 85-90 CYA 60 (will add...

Preparing for RJ30 install -bonding, anode questions

SWG and main parts plumbed in. Just need to get the controller mounted and wired. Still no idea about the bonding issue. And, while in packing the controller, kept hearing something rolling around loose. I have to convert it to 120v so I discovered a transformer bolt had been stripped at the...

Alrighty. You can sleep better tonight. Got a more better connector set and ruined another t-shirt with purple primer tonight. Still have the SWG to get plumbed and wired for action. Thanks again for the assistance from a distance. 👍😜

May the fun begin - conversion of 15 yr Baquacil pool

Got temp up to 85-86 and took a swim last night. Had to put the light back in the niche. Water very smooth, and crystal clear. Salt up to 3,200ppm so far. From 30ft away in the shallows, clearly count the drain holes in the deep end. Few more days and will fire up the SWG!

Has been almost 24 hrs since the first addition of salt. Will test again tonight as I added more after supper last night. Here is the first result with the K-1766 test. Also, was checking everything, cleaned out the pump basket again..... That is pic #2

First pool - New build decisions SW Ohio - Fiberglass/Gunite?

Mesh Pool cover for off season is a must. Won't keep leaves or worms out (yeah...fun times) but is for safety and allows water to keep replenishing over winter. I uncovered mine and had a full pool, ready to go. If you want to have a longer swim season, May to September, a heater is good. If...

May the fun begin - conversion of 15 yr Baquacil pool

I have tried the K-1766 drop test. 1 drop to yellow, then with the R-0718. 1st or 2nd drop goes milky. I keep adding but never goes red, just pops to brown. I have added 1/3 of salt about 5 hrs ago, too soon to test? And I will be sneaking up on the correct level.

May the fun begin - conversion of 15 yr Baquacil pool

I have purchased a bag or three of schedule 40 parts to correct the disgraceful plumbing done by the last guy. ( :laughblue:) I plan to start dumping salt and get everything wired and plumbed for the SWG (FYI, the price of the RJ30+ has gone up $250 more than it was 3 weeks ago). I do I add...

Baquacil/CDX Conversion to Chlorine then SWG

How has the SWG been doing this past week or so? curious as I am about to dump salt. I have tested twice in the past couple weeks durning conversion. Both times when I start dropping the R-0718, it turns milkly and after a second or third drop... brown. SO, that would mean not enough salt to...

    How to convert during shortage?

I just went through the whole process. I had stopped adding chemicals last August. I may have had some CDX in there but no way of testing. My baquacil content was about 16-20ppm. It took 13-15 days, adding enough 12.5% to keep up to 15ppm. I believe I went through 25 gallons (yep, your eyes...
