    POOLVERGNUEGEN the poolcleaner review

after hanging out here for a while, reading 100s of reviews on various sites, I decided to buy the poolcleaner 2x. Unfortunately, the hoses weren't long enough for our pool (my bad, I measured incorrectly) so I ended up with the 4x model from poolsupply world for $389. I also had to purchase an...

de in pool when vacuuming to waste after replacing grids

thank you so much for your reply! this started me thinking that the pool company was not communicating the problem to the pool techs. I called this morning and asked them what they thought was the problem: "de in your pool when turning on the filter". So they were testing, but they didn't...

hi, entire filter replaced last year, de stays in fliter when multiport is set to filter. when multiport set to waste, de flows into return lines. Pool company said grids need to be replaced, made repair, same result. then pool company said manifold needed to be replaced, made repair, same...

very low ta and ph, which to go after first?

thanks, yes, for some reason the pool calculator defaulted to a goal of 100 for alk, threw 18 lbs in tonight, will test tomorrow morning and start with borax.

very low ta and ph, which to go after first?

Hi, first test of the season, alk=10, ph is so low it's not part of ph spectrum. pool calculator is calling for 31 lbs(!) of baking soda and about 5lbs of borax. I'm thinking the alk is dangerously low for my pool tiles/ladder and provides a buffer for the borax, so I'm thinking of adding...

after pool opening, de and debris in pool return

Hi, I replaced my filter last year. I had the same company open the pool. While opening the pool, they made a couple of mistakes which I figured out. Yesterday I vacuumed my pool (to waste) for the first time this year. I noticed small debris coming out of the returns. afterwards I...

thepoolcleaner hose length? using two skimmers?

Hi, I ordered the 2x thepoolcleaner and it looks like I need another 20 feet of hose to make it from the skimmer in the deep end to the shallow end wall. One alternative is to move thepoolcleaner from the deep end skimmer to the shallow end skimmer every time we run it...seems a pita. Does...

suction vac for in ground concrete pool less than $400

Our pool company place a 2-3x markup on all equipment. Case in point, they wanted $500 for a Hayward booster pump which sells for $180 on amazon. Add $110 an hour for installation and you quickly learn to have a pool setup that avoids getting them involved.

suction vac for in ground concrete pool less than $400

The two suction cleaners that people here recommend are the mx8 and thepoolcleaner. Look at the thread below about the mx8 for a comparison. I've personally decided to go with thepoolceaner due to mixed reviews of the mx8 on amazon and consistently good reviews here and elsewhere for...

    Maytronics and Dolphin Products

there's a pretty good post about the warranty in this forum, I'll try to sum it up here: The m4 and m5 were manufactured to enable them to be repaired in local pool shops, at a lower cost, rather than send them into maytronics for repair. Other dolphins, using an older design, still carry a...

thanks, will order the two wheel version tomorrow, looks like inyo pool has the best price. I might go for the large hayward 530 cannister as we have a lot leaves in the fall. thanks again for all the help!

    Zodiac MX8

thanks, great information! sorry, should have asked before, do you any of your customer's use a leaf canister? we get a lot of leaves in the fall and I'm thinking it might be a good idea.

    Zodiac MX8

thanks for the review. I called the company and they suggested the 4-wheel model as my pool's deepest point is 10 feet. I noticed you only mention the two-wheel version, do you think that would work for me?

    Zodiac MX8

given all the quality issues with the mx8, it's hard to see why people continue to buy them. Looking at the latest reviews on amazon, it doesn't seem like they've addressed their quality issues with the latest design. I've just about decided on the 4-wheel thepoolcleaner.

    Best Cleaner for 750ish

if you look closely at the 820 and 830, it sure looks like the dolphin supreme line made by maytronics. the good news is that it's less expensive than the dolphin but the dolphin has a 3-year warranty. I'd guess just about the entire difference in price is due to the warranty. after rebate, you...

    Best Cleaner for 750ish

sorry to post so late. see my thread on estimated pool cleaner cost but to summarize, I think it's cost per year = cost of unit/warranty period (years) If this formula is even close to correct, the one year warranty for the 820 makes it a risky purchase. Hope it works out for you. also, if you...

robotic cleaners cost year = cost of unit / warranty period

Re: robotic cleaners cost year = cost of unit / warranty per Believe me, I'm aware of the nature of anecdotal evidence as well as the skew towards negative web reviews. Two thoughts, your 10 year old NY unit would have lasted about three years in a Geo like florida (10/(12/4)). The other...

robotic cleaners cost year = cost of unit / warranty period

Re: robotic cleaners cost year = cost of unit / warranty per Yes, pc2 would probably last 5 years with $70 per year in repairs. So maybe $150 per year.

robotic cleaners cost year = cost of unit / warranty period

Hi, after reading 100s of web reviews here is my analysis of cost per year for robotic units: cost per year = cost of unit/years of warranty my reasoning is that the motors on these units fail at a very high rate and once the unit is out of warranty the cost to repair is too high. I'd...

    Need help choosing a cleaner

we have a 280 with a booster pump. The booster pump was solid for about 15 years ago but needs to be replaced now. the 280 has been a very good cleaner for both leaves, dirt and silt. However, it needs a lot of maintenance and for us they seem to last about five years. So for your $750 and a...

The pool cleaner ($388) vs dolphin dx5 ($750)

I checked costco too. bjs has an aquabot but I just don't have enough data on the brand or their model. It looks like my credit card co offers and extra 12 months of coverage which would cover me for 3 years. dunno, I'm going to make a decision over the next 2 weeks.
