    Lost Tooth While Swimming

Yes, there is a central drain, the grid of which looks bigger than any tooth. If it did get sucked into the sand filter, what then are my options? Should i run the pump and vacuum? If so, where should i be looking?

    Lost Tooth While Swimming

Hello, everyone! Strange question. My father was swimming in my pool and lost a fake tooth. I turned off the pump about two minutes after he lost it. I've looked in the 60-degree water, searching the floor with mask, freezing to death, and found nothing. Any idea of where it might be at this...

How long should I run vacuum?

Quick Update with Questions: turns out the top of the Regulator Valve, which attaches to skimmer, was unscrewed all the way out, making the bypass of water very high and slowing the vac almost completely. I tightened this down, which has the effect of slowing the bypass of water but now the vac...

How long should I run vacuum?

Thank you, @Dirk. for your very well-written and thoughtful response; i'll get started today. @mknauss which robot is recommended for a pool of my size, in case i should stumble upon a sizable sum of somolians soon?

How long should I run vacuum?

Hello, everyone. I have a question about how much my vacuum should be going/moving around the bottom every day. Currently, I have it hooked to the pump, which runs 6 am - midnight every day. (Please see attached picture.) However, it stops moving soon after the priming is finished. I can see...

New to testing, new to Taylor K-2006

Update: the water's clear as a bell. Last night read 16ppm and this morning was 15.5ppm. PH is 8.0. CC 0. Now i naturally let the FC drop to ideal?

Deep cleaning the filter was mentioned. The pool has been in the hands of a weekly service until the last month when i took over. I don't know if the sand filter has ever been cleaned.

Got it, thanks. Now that pump running 24/7 - should that be on the highest speed (4) or the lowest (1) or somewhere in between?

It looks quite a bit clearer this morning, read 7.5ppm. Should i proceed with the SLAM?

here are a couple pics. Water just isn’t as clear as I’d hoped. What am I doing wrong? Or is it a question of time?

New to testing, new to Taylor K-2006

Hello. So after being gone for a few days, and leaving a few tabs in a floater, i find the pool looking okay, but in need of brushing. I do the brushing, add 10% Home Depot liq chlorine, and run the pump for an hour. Then i test. It's at 3ppm. Does this still look like a case of weak chlorine...

Plan to locate HASA next week. This was from Home Depot. Never handled the stuff before, expected to be a strong aroma. But upon opening each bottle, there was barely anything to smell.

So, after adding another gallon last night, my predawn test shows 6ppm. Does this sound good? Also, i am leaving for a few days. Should i let the pool be, or leave a floater with some tablets inside?

New to testing, new to Taylor K-2006

This evening's test, after adding a gallon of 10% and waiting 45 minutes was 3.6 ppm. Should i add more or should i wait for the predawn test?

New to testing, new to Taylor K-2006

So here are this morning's numbers: FC: 4.6 PH: 7.4 Tot Alk: 160 CH: after 5 drops solution turns pink, not red. That being said: 300 CH CYA: past 40, halfway up to 30. Don't know what that number would be. Does that TA mean big trouble? And what of the other numbers, ok? What should i do now...

New to testing, new to Taylor K-2006

OK, so now it's up to 4ppm. But after 5 drops of the R-0003 DPD reagent, it's still clear, meaning no combined chlorine? Should there be? Have i made a terrible mistake? And since the FC is only 4ppm, should i add yet another gallon of 10%? Thank you!
