Wow, looks like Los Angeles is much better than San Diego, we don't have any current rebates for pool heaters. Leslie's had a cyber Monday sale, I put a heater in my cart last night, but didn't pull the trigger, this morning it was $500 more:cautious:(n).

The heat exchanger on my Raypak 400k heater finally gave up the ghost. I'm in San Diego. Suggestions and estimated cost for replacement? I did a brief search, it looks like Raypak is still a good heater. . .

The equipment pad is on the left side of the second pic, and the valves are under the stairs where the red boxing dummy is located. To hardwire the valves, I'd have to cross a cement walkway somehow, or build an arch across the equipment pad. . .

Haha. I will shoot some pics tomorrow, but valves are near Jacuzzi, and breaker panel, heater, filter etc are on a pad around the corner of house away from pool.

OK, thanks Jim, so would the valve actuators need to be hard-wired to the ET? That will be a complication, as it crosses a walkway and the pool, but I guess I could make it work, if necessary.

Thanks Jim, thats helpful info. I do have a pool and spa. The valves are located about 30 ft around the corner from the heater and filter, so I assume I'll need wifi-connected actuators to change them? I also plan on doing the screen logic, as that seems to simplify things. I will also...

OK, thanks. The water itself is clear, there is just yellowing on the steps, but I guess thats attributable to the water, so I'll keep SLAMing til its gone. I got the 34 CL number from the Pool Math chart for mustard algae. I did note the difference with the SWG #'s and normal bleach #'s too...

Thanks, the water is clear, CC is zero, and there is some residual mustard on the steps and corners, I'll try to keep the CL at the recommended 34 and see how quickly I drop. I have a midnight blue quartzscape with abalone, so I'm a bit nervous about "bleaching" out the color by keeping the CL...

Thanx Tex, so enough Muriatic to get to 7.2 ph, then slam it up with bleach? I just poured about 1/2 gal of 14.5% muriatic in. Seems my ph is a bit of a beast to get lower, but I should do that before adding too much bleach. I appreciate the feedback, Joel
