Fantastic thanks for confirming I'm going to the heater off now then! Plenty of time to heat it up for the kiddos.

Turning on pool heater (Chicago area)

Looks like I also have a model number 406A. I'll look into a solar cover but the issue with my pool is that there is a retaining wall the waterfall which apparently makes it difficult for me to get a cover now

Turning on pool heater (Chicago area)

Ok the suspense was killing me.. its model 406A but no mention of BTU's. I did set the temperature to 77 about an hour and a half ago now the temperature is at 72.

Turning on pool heater (Chicago area)

Now it's dark but I'll go check. A pool company fixed the heater (needed a new circuit board). I know the heater is strong per them. I can get the exact model number tomorrow once there's daylight.

Turning on pool heater (Chicago area)

Pool temperature is 70. I have a gas fired Raypak 206A heater... I'm not sure about the BTUs just yet. honestly I'm not entirely sure that's the exact model you could also be modeled 266A, 336A and or 406A. I do have a spa as well and this is the manual that the previous owner left in the house.

Turning on pool heater (Chicago area)

Finally the pool is functional and the heater is fixed but of course now we have cooler weather. This Wednesday should reach 80 degrees and I'd like to let my kids swim. Should I turn on the heater now to get it to a temp of about 82? Pool is about 30,000 gallons. I've been told that to heat...

Pool is nearly filled up...now to the equipment

Not sure of the name of the piping but the house was built in 82 and unsure of when the pool was installed. Def not PVC. I tried to attach it another picture right now but it's saying the file is too large for the server to process.

Pool is nearly filled up...now to the equipment

what he did yesterday was connect a hose directly to the pool skimmer we filled up cold water to identify which pipe was the skimmer pipe. Then he connected a pressure measure down by the skimmer pipes near the equipment. We then found out there is a leak near the concrete by the pool. This...

Pool is nearly filled up...now to the equipment

he said it is just preferred to have the equipment at the same level as the pool versus downhill because then the pump has to work extra hard to push the water back uphill.

Pool is nearly filled up...now to the equipment

actually I don't have any concerns that this pool guy is taking advantage of me but then again I don't know anything of pool equipment and so forth but overall it seems like an extremely nice and genuine person. We filled the pool up more than halfway up to the tiles and still had the issue.

Pool is nearly filled up...now to the equipment

So the pool company is saying one of the pipes has a small air leak. About 9 ft up the hill away from the equipment there is some odd water spots near a tree which I cut down. We don't know where the water is coming from but we did dig around near the pool and found some piping and notice that...

Pool is nearly filled up...now to the equipment

Yes it was halfway up the tiles. The pool never leaked when the equipment was off. Pool guy kept saying that the hill is downward so we probably wouldn't see the water and unless we dug and followed the pipe

Pool is nearly filled up...now to the equipment

Oh I see because yes the pool water when it was filled up and none of the equipment was turned on did not show any signs of leaking anywhere. The pool guys coming back tonight should I just mention what you told them as potential problems versus myself and digging for hours? :)

Pool is nearly filled up...now to the equipment

we dug by the swimming pool equipment pad yesterday and saw which direction the pipe is going. so today I will follow that and continue to dig to see if I can find the leak area. Does this sound like a good plan?

Pool is nearly filled up...now to the equipment

Yes the equipment pad is down the hill from the pool. He ran the equipment for quite some time and it was not filling up. He thinks we lost about an inch of water at the pool but we cannot see where the leak is. The water could be running down the hill somewhere. He also checked both...

Pool is nearly filled up...now to the equipment

Sorry didn't get a notification of this post. Wanted to report back that everything turned on the equipment wise however there is a leak in a pipe from the pool to the pool equipment. The pump was gurgling quite a bit and wasn't filling up fully. so now I have to dig to find out where the...

Pool is nearly filled up...now to the equipment

Yes I bought the TF 100 and have it ready to go. Only one company mentioned that I have a ancient salt something but this new company that I'm using now I never said anything about salt. Once we iron out the equipments I'll go ahead and update back because that should be the first step right...

Pool is nearly filled up...now to the equipment

Thanks I'll mention it to the pool guy. I just don't want to be ripped off when they start to turn on the equipment and say this and that is leaking or this and that is not working. On Sunday before the pool was drained he tried to scare me and said "nothing's working I try to flip the switch...

Pool is nearly filled up...now to the equipment

Hmm...so the pool was drained on Sunday...cleaned the walls etc and this is new water? I'm on well water but the water around here isn't terrible. I'll look out for the ionizer.

Pool is nearly filled up...now to the equipment

The pool company is coming soon and one thing they mentioned is I should move the equipment since its downhill from the pool. House/pool is at the top and the pool equipment is downward the hill. Anything I should look out for once we test the equipment?
