Caution, do not overtighten drain plug

Thanks for the info, perhaps I will use that next time I break down the filter however it may be 3 years before I do so. The last time I cleaned my filter was 3 years ago. Thanks to TFP and a birdcage

Hey JIM I am not sure what seal you are referring to. The seal I am using I still put lube on. It is a fairly thick seal. I also have a new seal with a metal strip in it. Perhaps you are referring to this one.

    Used Hayward DE4820

Yes very happy I went with DE. It is very oversized for my pool but that just means that I spend more time swimming instead of cleaning filters. If you are getting a good deal on the Hayward I would switch it out and sell the sand filter which is what I did. Hope this helps:cheers:

    Used Hayward DE4820

Nextoblivion, I did the same thing 5 years ago. I also had a S220t. I replaced the grids and was up and running. You will notice a decrease in PSI and you may notice not very many particles floating in the pool at night with the pool light on. Hope this helps:cheers:

    Intelliflo 011018 Pump Housing Chipping/Cracking???

Something changed with the way my heater works

I am not sure about Gas heaters, however if I have no water flow thru my heat pump there is a sensor that turns it off, in other words my pool pump must be running for the heat pump to turn on. I would assume the same for your Gas heater. Not sure why you are getting a gas bill if the heater is...
