*Review* - Pool Baron/Florida Sunseeker color changing LED light bulb

Just wanted to give y'all a quick little review on this bulb beings there wasn't many I could find on it prior to purchasing it. Our spa bulb went out and we decided to replace it with a color changing LED, previous bulb was a 250w halogen (would get EXTREMELY HOT to the point that it could burn...

    Needing Some Speakers This Season?

I installed a pair of Dayton Audio IO655 speakers last year and I highly recommend them. They are currently $86 for the PAIR. From a "best bang for your buck" standpoint...these cannot be beat.

Best Places to Buy Liquid Chlorine

I've been getting 12% for only $2.50 a gallon at my local chemical and janitorial store. Their stock is always fresh and replenished weekly in drums. Y'all may want to check and see if y'all have a local janitorial supply company and call them to inquire about their bleach.

    Pool and spa light...opinions please!

Merged thread - TFP Mod Are your pool and spa lights on the same switch (meaning both the pool and spa lights come on at the same time when the switch is turned on) or separate switches (pool and spa lights can be turned off/on independently from one another)? Just trying to see what the...

    Pool and spa light...opinions please!

Currently my pool and spa lights are on separate switches, one switch controls the spa light and the other switch controls the pool light...so I can turn them on and off separately right now. I was considering changing both bulbs to color changing LEDs and was considering rewiring them both to...

Changing spa light bulb...do I need to lubricate new gasket?

My spa light bulb went out, so I plan on changing it out soon. I've watched several videos and it looks pretty straightforward. From what I've read/watched, the lens gasket is supposed to be changed every time the fixture is opened. Does the new lens gasket also need to be lubricated prior to...

Does anyone know what these liquid compartments are in my salt cell?

Good point...I'll just monitor my FC as I normally do and if I have issues then I may address later. As long as it's chlorine output is sustained, then I'm fine with it.

Does anyone know what these liquid compartments are in my salt cell?

You're right...maybe I'm making a deal out of nothing. Who knows. It just seems that odd that on some cells this can happen to them and others it doesn't. And it shouldn't happen, but if it does happen then that's normal too.

Does anyone know what these liquid compartments are in my salt cell?

Well for one thing there are electrical components going into that space, you can see the black wires where they enter. And the second reason is what I stated before. She never specifically would answer whether or nor that area should be sealed. She avoided it each time by saying "it can happen...

Does anyone know what these liquid compartments are in my salt cell?

This is exactly my view on it. It either should be sealed and water shouldn't get in there OR it's not sealed and water should be able to freely drain out. I feel like they are just saying this to avoid having to replace it by saying "oh well, it got water in it...sometimes that happens, nothing...

Does anyone know what these liquid compartments are in my salt cell?

I called their customer service and spoke with Emily. I emailed her the 2 pics and her response was that this is "normal and can happen to the cell". I asked if I should try and drain the water out and she said "there is no way to get the water out from there". Then I asked if that area should...

Does anyone know what these liquid compartments are in my salt cell?

I have an A5 Resilience salt cell and it has some sort of built in compartments around the top that has liquid inside. Well one of the 4 compartments has a greenish-yellow liquid inside (circle with question mark pointing to it) and the other 3 have clear liquids. Does anyone know what these...

Help/advice with recent calcium deposits/flakes in pool

Ok, I'll lower it and shoot for 80. I have all 3 waterfalls on right now to help increase aeration and pH. I'll knock it back down to around 7.2-7.4ish every few days when it rises and then I'll recheck TA soon. I also clean the salt cell again when I get the chance. I have some hardness reagent...

Help/advice with recent calcium deposits/flakes in pool

Recently, I had to perform a short slam (for about a week) on my pool due to noticing a few small spots of algae. It was caused by a pool party for my daughter's birthday (about 20 kids in the pool) and combined with the extreme temps here (over 100 with heat index right now) it caused a small...

Why did shocking my pool lower my ph? I'm confused...

I have SWG system. I had shocked the pool starting 2 days ago. I added liquid chlorine bleach 10% during the day and at night I added a 1 lb pack of Bioguard Burnout 73 for the last 2 nights...yes I know it isn't bleach but my CH level is around 350, so it wasn't going to hurt (normally I only...

^^^ This x2! Best advice so far. You are thinking wayyyy too much into it. If there are still a few spots it missed after the first cleaning cycle (which happens), simply walk over to the power supply and press the start button again and let it run a 2nd cycle and be done with it. Driving it...

I have yet to see ANY cleaner do stairs perfectly like you are describing. They simply cannot due to shape irregularity. I have 3 seating ledges and a pool bubbler pad...all I do is sweep them with the brush real quick and poof...clean! Takes all but 30 seconds to do. Sometimes I'll have to run...

I can help you out here. On your model, only those 2 buttons should work. Regarding the caddy, there is a plastic insert piece that goes across the back portion of the caddy (I circled it in yellow in the pic) to raise the rear portion of the unit up so it doesn't rub the wheels. If you bought...

So you'd rather manually vacuum your pool rather than drop a robot in and have it do it for you? All it requires is about 15 seconds to drop in the pool. It takes me all but 5 minutes (if that) to pull it out the pool, place on caddy, roll up cord, then empty/hose down filter basket and place...

Well y'all have convinced me to buy the rough basket insert. Seems like it will help with wear and tear on the pleated filters by catching most of the larger debris first.

Re: Finally, a club that will accept me as a member! I guess what I'm getting at is that if that are pressed up against each other and the leaves or larger debris is caught on the rough filters, wouldn't that already obstruct water flow going through the fine filters on the other side?

Re: Finally, a club that will accept me as a member! What's the purpose of the rough filter basket insert if you are already using the fine pleated filters? The water still has to pass through the the fine filters regardless? Just trying to understand it's purpose.

No, mine literally runs all the way across the tile line when it reaches the top. It kind of turns sideways a bit, then runs across.

This is simply not true. I've had the Nautilus Plus for the last 2 years and it definitely 100% climbs and cleans across the tile/water line.

Bad experience with Pool Partz and refurbished Dolphin S300

I'm always wary of purchasing anything "refurbished". If it's refurbished, then it has already had a problem in the past that had to be fixed. Personally, I'd rather not take my chances. Hopefully, they fix it for you.

    My green monster

CYA is the ONLY test that I also get done at the local pool store to double check with my results from my Taylor kit. This is because I personally find that determining when the dot really "disappears" is kind of iffy to me/my eyes. So I double check that one at the pool store. But like the...

I've had a Dolphin Nautilus Plus for the last 2 years. Just upgraded and bought an S200 that arrived today. Didn't need the caddy because I already had it for the Nautilus Plus and Dolphin was kind enough to send me the 3 pieces I needed to swap out to make it the S200 caddy at no cost. Can't...

This is just a personal opinion of mine. I mainly follow the TFP method exactly as described, but every so often there are 2 things I end up recommending to people, one of which may help in your current situation. One is using Bioguard Backup 2 for persistent waterbugs. The other which may...
