    Solar cover reel

Thanks for your reply. The pool is standard rectangular shape. No diving board. Have about 3.5 feet clearance on either side of pool. Any advice regarding where to look; what features a quality reel should have; construction material, etc. most welcome.

    Solar cover reel

My pool is 15W X 30L. We bought a solar cover some months ago (was on sale), thinking I'd buy the reel about this time. I'm totally unfamiliar with them (covers as well as reels). Am having difficulty sorting out 1) what width reel is best; .2) what type & kind of clips to attach cover to reel...

    Circuit Board Aquarite Goldline SWG

You, once again, are absolutely correct. I reinstalled the display & all seems to be working as it should. And, again, I owe you many, many thanks.

    Circuit Board Aquarite Goldline SWG

New SL 32 thermistor soldered into place. Upon replacing wires (I doubled checked: all colored wires & in the right colored terminals) & turning unit on, I get: 1) no display; 2) all LED lights quick-flashing in unison; and 3) a loud tick-tock type sound. Still no function. I am at complete loss.

    Circuit Board Aquarite Goldline SWG

Tried soldering new thermistor on existing legs, but doing so requires more skill than I have. So thought about desoldering those unused holes & just soldering in a new thermistor.

    Circuit Board Aquarite Goldline SWG

At TH1 (lower right corner in photo) are bare terminals for thermistor. Right next to them are holes, but they are soldered closed. Can they be unsoldered & a new thermistor installed in those holes?

Had a thought: would a power surge cause a fuse to blow?

    Circuit Board Aquarite Goldline SWG

I'm not 100% certain, but I don't think so. I'd read somewhere about this same thing. I did inspect & clean the cell, though, before the fuse went out.

Have already begun to wade through those websites. And a donation to TFP will occur shortly.

It works!!!! All diagnostics show on display panel. "Thank you" is an understatement. No way would I have ever been able to do this without your help. You helped me add a dimension of knowledge I've always avoided because anything to do with electricity is intimidating. Seems it was the fuse...

OK. Will give this a go and post again.

    Circuit Board Aquarite Goldline SWG

Thanks for your reply. I'm assuming that I need to turn switch on to see if display/diagnostic readings show, and once they are shown (if they are), then I should immediately turn the switch off. Am I anywhere near correct?

    Circuit Board Aquarite Goldline SWG

Can't thank you enough! Power going into terminals 1 & 4 at TB1 shows 240v. Multimeter does not make the buzz sound when I check for continuity on existing fuse, but does make that sound when I do continuity check on replacement fuse. I hope this shows no continuity in existing fuse, and that...

Your directions most helpful: Just checked using multimeter: is 240 volts.

    Circuit Board Aquarite Goldline SWG

How should I connect the legs together & still leave room so the board will fit in the box?
  19. H

    Circuit Board Aquarite Goldline SWG

Just checked, and the two silver spots you mentioned do not accommodate the AS32. Being that the board is removed from the box, I'm inclined to wait until the SL-32 thermistor arrives; unsolder existing legs & install new one. Is there anything further I should consider?

    Circuit Board Aquarite Goldline SWG

Thanks, again, for your reply. I found J-4 & J-7. Am unsure how to respond to J-4 not being connected. The entire unit was installed, new, in 2015, and, until now, has worked with no issues. The only item replaced is the actual cell, which happened in 2019. I cannot find serial number on...

    Circuit Board Aquarite Goldline SWG

The bent terminals for the thermistor (bottom right of photo) are that way because I attempted to solder an AS32 to them, but the legs on the AS32 are too wide. I cannot see any holes on the board that would accommodate an AS32. Will have to reinstall the board to find out if replacing the fuse...

    Circuit Board Aquarite Goldline SWG

Thanks for your reply. It is a T-15 cell. All of this is foreign to me, but trying to avoid buying an entire new main board. Am learning a lot. I've no idea what a J-4 jumper is or where it's located.

    Circuit Board Aquarite Goldline SWG

Need some expert advice, for this dilemma continues, and correcting it has some degree of urgency to it as it is going on 3 weeks with no SWG function. The issue is outlined in previous posts. I've learned from the help you all have provided that I've a r1.59 GLX-PCB-RITE main board. This saga...

    Circuit Board Aquarite Goldline SWG

Ordered model AS32 2RO25 new thermistor. Turns out the gauge of the contact "legs" are too flat, wide & spaced too far apart to fit onto my Main Circuit Board. The gauge of the contact legs on the old termistor are thin. When I cut off the old termistor, I left the existing legs & tried to...

    Circuit Board Aquarite Goldline SWG

Many, many thanks!! This is a whole new learning experience for me; not unlike learning a foreign language. While I'm not certain I grasp it all, the information you provided will only help, I'm sure. I will take this slow & carefull; will post results. TFP people like you are a godsend to...

    Circuit Board Aquarite Goldline SWG

Thanks for the advice. Electricity does scare the bejesus out of me, and I am very tentative when having to deal with it. Using a multimeter seems like a sound idea & I will do that tomorrow. When you mention fuses, are you referring to the one that is on the Main Circuit Board? Are there other...

    Circuit Board Aquarite Goldline SWG

Am testing with a voltage detector that does make contact with wires & terminals. It just indicates whether there is voltage present; does not indicate how much.
