Okay, here's a pic. The wire comes out of the side of the shotcrete shell (under the dirt). I found a total of 5 around the pool (could not locate one on the deep end).

That makes sense. Thank you for clarifying. This is quite a ride my PB is taking me on! IMO, they shouldn't be calling it "cantilevered" !? I know it is not constructed like the one in the drawing you sent. Thanks again, I really appreciate it!

Gosh, I didn't get that from Jimmy's post. In fact, it is cantilevered coping, that is, it is overhanging into the pool 1 - 1 1/2" - isn't that considered cantilever coping? OR are you saying it's not cantilever because "true" cantilever does not tie into the bond beam? Sorry for my confusion!

Thank you. Sorry, I am confused. You are talking a lot about a deck which this isn't, so it's confusing me. When you say, "in a cantilever deck the rebar sticking up shouldn't be there," does this apply to my cantilever coping as well? Also, is bonding wire the copper wire coming out of the bond...

I agree. Def not worth chasing after the 12" width. I am talking myself into loving square-looking coping and lots of joint lines 🤣 (15 1/2" x 24 looks more square than rectangle to me.) Did the pics answer this concern: I am more concerned about how the cantilevered coping will kept isolated...

Hello Again, The rebar is off the ground. It is being held up by pieces of vertical rebar that were cemented into the bond beam for that purpose (you can see it in the first pic of rebar if you blow up that pic). However, I know the rebar is supposed to be in the middle of the pour and I'm not...

The Concern: See pics. There is up to 6" of loose (non compacted) dirt comprising the 15 1/2" area where the concrete will be poured. AND there is no rebar in that area. Shouldn't this dirt be well-compacted to help prevent cracking? And should there be another line of rebar over the dirt? - THE...

I'm in awe that they are able to tell "where the leak is coming from," ~ How do they do that??!? Thank goodness the cut out section is relatively small and should patch up without a trace. Kudos for handling this setback with calm and humor! And for braving the cold!!! Yikes. The lights in the...

My PB showed me a Pebble Sheen Blue Surf pool today with the same water depths as mine. The blue color was gorgeous in person. No glass beads or abalone added. I can't believe I'm going to be another Blue Smurfer!

Those numbers are greek to me! But wow, your fence looks awesome, and the pool equipment placement is very thoughtfully designed. That's a lot of solar panels! I was told by my PB it was best to wait to install solar until after the pool's finished but I can't remember why, or if he even had a...

Congrats! Friday plaster!!!! 🥳 Thanks so much for measuring. I just went and put a 14x24 piece of cardboard where the coping will go and 14" looks too wide for my small pool! I really wanted 12" but the bond beam is already 12" and the coping has to extend into the yard and pool. :cautious:

Oh! Sollace, I FINALLY received samples of the Master Tile Isola Elba 6" YESTERDAY! HA! (Master tile was really hard to get. They were bought out by NPT and getting samples was crazy difficult.) It's very exciting you are so close to plastering! We had a failed inspection (before shotcrete) and it set us back FOUR weeks ~ mainly because the City took so long to come back out to reinspect. So annoying. Sounds like you won't have that problem. Yay! I love the look of your cantilever...

That’s correct! No more glass tile. There were soooo many reasons why I nixed it. The glass tile I fell in love with had detailed installation instructions (including “Do NOT use EPOXY thinset or grout”) which I didn’t trust my PB's tiler would comply with. Also, the random block tile had no...

Yes. Here's a great video that explains it. They use the term "cream" and "slurry" interchangeably, but it's just the plaster, which they say brings more pebble to the surface, making it stronger.
