New Pool Build, Yet Another in DFW

Finally got the time lapse video together on the build. My first attempt at video editing...pretty happy with how it turned out. (y)

Yes, all inspections were passed. There is no final inspection in my city. I am not concerned about them.

New Spa - What would you select if you could design your system from scratch?

I would suggest doing the benches at varying depths, as this has been something I've enjoyed with mine. Having the variety is nice. Also, do gunite arm rests so you don't have to rest your arms on the coping. And get as many jets as you can. MIne is not quite as large as yours, roughly 7'...

Spa Jets "Leaking" at sides (not just shooting out the nozzle)

Yeah mine do the exact same thing as yours. And there is another guy here that built at about the same time as me with the same builder and his do it too. I took the 1.5hp one off and went to a 1hp and it did help a little bit, it also is WAY quieter than the 1.5...so that's a plus. Today I...

3-Way Valve on Spa Blower Air Line

Thought about that too.. I’ll try that next. Have a feeling it will be loud as well, though. ?

3-Way Valve on Spa Blower Air Line

I tried the Tee and ball valve.. it works pretty well and you can adjust the amount of air going to the jets. But it’s just not viable because the air coming out of the valve is WAY too loud. Like twice as loud as the blower itself, which is already loud enough. ?

Thank you.. that sounds like it will be perfect. ?

3-Way Valve on Spa Blower Air Line

I am looking for a way to regulate the amount of air being introduced by my spa blower. In my research I have read that putting a 3 way valve to divert some of the air out of the pipe (note: I am talking about diverting some of the air, NOT trying to restrict the air flow) can help dial in the...

    SWG FC in Winter

Just have a quick question.. I'm in Texas, so I will not be closing my pool, however...the SWG will shut down for several months and I'll use liquid chlorine. During this time, should I continue on with the recommended FC for SWG pools? Or switch over to the Non-SWG numbers found on the chart...

Pool build DFW (another). Initial Design Phase. Comments welcome.

Also, you're fortunate to have found this forum while still in the design phase. Because there is one thing that can be said with 100% certainty...you will end up with a better pool than you would have if you didn't. ?

Pool build DFW (another). Initial Design Phase. Comments welcome.

I am a vote FOR the attached spa, just so you're not getting so much one sided gunite spa hate. ;) Being here in Dallas, I believe you'll use it a lot more than some gunite spa naysayers think. It's much more convenient than a stand alone spa. Sanitized by the SWG, filtered by the...

New Pool Build, Yet Another in DFW

I haven't been doing anything yet except brushing, skimming and cleaning out the skimmers. The startup guys have been doing the chemicals for the first couple weeks...aka the test strip crew as I call them. ? Once they get through going through their motions, I will take over and do...

New Pool Build, Yet Another in DFW

I finally installed the fire bowls yesterday. Everything is mostly done, just a few things left to take care of..irrigation, sod, etc. I think the water color on the French Gray is going end up pretty much exactly what I was looking for. Really looks great with the tile. ?

New Pool Build, Yet Another in DFW

Yeah, I agree about the blue. The blue/green colors seem to penetrate the water way more than the other colors. The red is very anemic IMO. Regular old white is good too. Yeah, I'm missing the fire bowls still. They were supposed to be in today...but they're saying early next week now...

New Pool Build, Yet Another in DFW

Couple shots with the lights on after dark. I ran the wire for the landscape lights to the planters and while everything was torn up from construction. After the decking was done I just made the connections to the lights. Have a smart plug in the transformer box and have them set to come on a...

Been raining non-stop for about 24 hours...but it's full and it's started up. All the plumbing seems good to go...sheers look good, bubblers, etc. French Gray PebbleSheen and the tile we picked out are going to look great together, I think. Can’t wait to see the final water color!
