    Equipotential Bonding

I understand that. I'm not sure how to bond the double insulated intex pump, as there is no bonding lug and it is all plastic. Aside from that, I'm going to bond everything just as you've said. My plan was not only to bond the water or the water and the tub, that was just the part I was...

    Equipotential Bonding

Little sneak peek of where it is after finishing up for today! I've used some old scrap carpet padding to insulate it (saved it after we put laminate down in the house). I have 6 layers around it. It's not a great deal of R value, but it seems to be much more than every other stock tank hot tub...

    Equipotential Bonding

I have read the above link, but continue to go back and review it and other resources in my spare time and as I work out this project. Thank you for your assistance!

    Equipotential Bonding

I'm working on building us a stock tank hot tub/pool. Based on what I can find in the NEC (not that I'm incredibly familiar with it) this pool doesn't necessarily qualify to need bonding. It's well below 42" and I think whether it would be considered portable is a grey area. It could well be...

    Stenner Econ T?

My pool has a decommissioned FROG system. The top of the housing for the frog cartridges had a nice thick flat spot to drill and tap a hole to put the injection quill into. I suspect that if you look you can probably find a good spot to do the same. If not, I think you should be able to maybe...

Tired of Manually Adding Liquid Chlorine

I don't think I see a problem transporting 15 gallons or so. I used to haul e85 55 gallons at a time. I have a 55 gallon drum set up to pump from. I'm not sure how they would be set up to load me up, but when I got home I would pump it from the bed of the truck into the storage containers. I'd...

Tired of Manually Adding Liquid Chlorine

I have a LC pump. My pump and filter are in a small pool house beside the pool, and I mounted the LC pump on the wall in there. It feeds chlorine from a bucket, and I tapped an injection site into the pressure side plumbing after my filter. It has been working great and is a welcome addition! I...

    Cleaner questions

I inherited a pool with a Polaris 380. It needed some work. I got it running but it still needed bout a full rebuild. I decided to just put that money towards a Pentair Warrior SE, and it was some of the best money I've ever spent!I haven't had to manually vac the pool in months. It's as clean...

Suggestions for a robotic cleaner to deal with pine needles

I also bought a Warrior SE from Margaret for about $700. I would pay double that if I had to. It works so well!

Are there different baskets for the dolphin?

Ooh this is good to know! My warrior is keeping up fine so far, but if it begins to struggle with the leaves this is th first thing I'll try!

    Selecting a Solar Cover

I just pulled some measurements, and the pool is exactly 20x40. I'll get on ebay now and see what's available.

    Selecting a Solar Cover

Hopefully it will only have to be installed once, left for a few months, then removed once per year. We shall see.

    Selecting a Solar Cover

Once it warms up in the spring, the cover would come off and stay off until fall, that's for sure. Sounds like I'm good to just select the cheapest solar cover I can find that's large enough, then? At least for now.

    Selecting a Solar Cover

I would imagine you can prevent some of it from falling off the cover into the pool though, no? I also wonder if I could blow some debris off the cover if it hasn't yet gotten wet, but I think as soon as you started to blow part of the cover would dip below the water and water would most likely...

    Selecting a Solar Cover

I still want to try it this way this winter. I've done two so far the old way, and see which way seems the best for us.

    Selecting a Solar Cover

We have a big, heavy, mesh cover that has always been used to cover our pool. There are spring loaded things that pop up from the patio around the pool that the cover attaches to. It's very nice and it works well, but it's a pain to use and to store. Last year when we removed it the pool was...

    Possible water under liner

The boxer patch seems to be sealing the hole. I don't really like placing one of those patches. It doesn't seem to "stick" and just wants to move around as you try to press it down or roll it. I held it still with one hand the best I could and rolled it with the other. Placed a square of lumber...

Warrior SE frequently stuck on main drain

Changing the scheduling to my robot running when the pump is off seems effective. I now go out to the pool to find the robot parked randomly anywhere in the pool, and the pool is cleaner than it has ever been. Something I found equally as effective is switching the multi port valve to skimmer...

Warrior SE frequently stuck on main drain

That's a good thought. I hadn't considered that maybe the auction from the pool pump would be contributing. It's definitely running at the same time sometimes when it's stuck. I like to run them at the same time, so anything the robot is stirring up might get filtered by the pool pump as well...

Warrior SE frequently stuck on main drain

Not always. Sometimes it's high centered in such a way that it can't get off. It will stay until I tug on the cord.

Warrior SE frequently stuck on main drain

Hi all, I love my Warrior SE. It was money well spent. However, it frequently gets hung up on one of my main drains. Almost every time I go out to the pool it's parked on top of one. I believe it's getting hung up part way through a cleaning cycle and never getting off. Anything I can do...

Best Places to Buy Liquid Chlorine

Local pool store 🙄. Also, "at the beach" is 3 hours away. There is lots of LC available much much closer. Maybe not in bulk, but I doubt that's true too.

Questions about keeping pool open this winter

Is there a certain temperature after which we don't need to chlorine dose? Or is it best to maintain the same levels we are now through the winter also?

    Chlorine Generator?

We're making progress, but slowly. He's not checking his chlorine very often (once a day at best) and keeps not heeding my recommendations. For instance after the first day he wasn't dosing chlorine any more at all because it has the salt generator, but I'd already told him we'll have to dose...

    Chlorine Generator?

This is from before we started. It actually looks worse now, because my robot started stirring all the stuff up off the bottom. Lol We were checking Xena and emptying the cartridge, cleaning the filters each hour. He said it's starting to have less junk each time he checks it. I'm sure that's a...

    Chlorine Generator?

No, once it's cleared up he does plan to use the salt chlorine generator. We've got 3 lbs of stabilizer in a sock being applied right now, and will boost the chlorine to 12 ppm once it's dissolved and shows in the test. When we're ready to turn it over to the generator we'll bring it to 60 ppm CYA.

    Chlorine Generator?

A pool is never safe to swim in at SLAM levels anyway, right? Until the murky mess is cleaned up, nobody would be swimming either way. I assumed pool math would offer an appropriate slam chlorine level based on the cya level we put in. After getting the algae cleaned up my plan was for us to...

    Chlorine Generator?

Went over and worked on it with him some today. I took my Warrior SE over and he's going to run it pretty steady. It's stirring a lot more junk up off the bottom than he thought he had in there. It's gathering a lot of sludge in the box every hour or so. I tested his CYA to be 0, PH was high...
