    Build up on pool floor

Ah, ok. For chlorine you need a FAS-DPD test. That tests for free chlorine (good stuff) and combined chlorine (bad). The addition of those two is total chlorine which is what the test you have measures. It’s not 5-10, the first column is chlorine and the second is bromine (different...

Question about K-2006C FC and CC testing

.3ppm (sorry, I couldn’t help myself) It’s just the level of precision. While .2 increments is more precise, you don’t need to be that precise. So, TFP recommends using 10ml samples and .5ppm of precision to save the reagents. Dispose of them in the sink and wash throughly.

    Shock From Costco

It will cost about the same over the life of the SWG. You just “buy” your chlorine all up front.

    Shock From Costco

That doesn’t look like it has the correct chlorine test. Try: https://tftestkits.net/test-kits-c4/ Or https://www.amazon.com/TAYLOR-TECHNOLOGIES-INC-K-2006-CHLORINE/dp/B004BGF7TI/ref=mp_s_a_1_1?keywords=taylor+2006&qid=1559757528&s=gateway&sr=8-1

    Dallas New Build 2019

It’s their newest offering. The Internet/web feature is all built-in. It has a lot more feature circuits and schedules. The bottom line is, why go with old technology when their newest version is basically the same price?

Finalizing Design! Soon-to-be New Build in SE Pennsylvania (Pics Included)

It’s not anymore complicated...if you don’t want it to be. The basics are extremely easy to program. I had to tell my PB about IntelliCenter. They are construction people at the end of the day. There is no incentive for them to go with the latest unless the customer is pushing for it. I...

1st test results : under shock

It doesn’t. Well/tap water will have 0 cya. You don’t need to test.

1st test results : under shock

With CYA at or over 100, you need to do a diluted CYA test to get an accurate reading. It may be way over 100. Use 50% pool water and 50% tap water to do the test with. Then double your result to get your CYA level.

Intellichlor Pool and Spa Output %

Also...you run your pump for 8 hours. That’s for just the pool? How long do you run it for the spa? Is there a spillover mode you use?
  17. jimbethesda

Intellichlor Pool and Spa Output %

I second this. Use pool math to determine the %. You’ll need a good estimate of the gallons of the pool vs spa. I’m assuming the 13k gallons is for both? I change my % settings based on my PPM loss per day, which changes.

    Grout haze remover

Low ph and high TA, aeration not working

How are you chlorinating your pool? Your CYA is high, are you using pucks? They are acidic too, so maybe that’s why your PH stays so low.

    SWG and Heater Issues?

It’s a good problem to have. It means your pool is really clean...nothing for the chlorine to kill. Much better than your pool not holding chlorine levels and your SWG too small to keep up.

    SWG and Heater Issues?

It’s safe to swim up to shock level chlorine. At CYA of 80, you’re good to 31, so go swim! https://www.troublefreepool.com/blog/2019/01/18/chlorine-cya-chart/

Signing Contract soon! Central Nebraska Pool Build

The key here is 24 hrs a day. Most of the experts here will say that’s not necessary. That’s a lot of electricity. You’d be at 100% if you ran it for 8 hours a day. It would still work, but no wiggle room. I’m not sure how much the OP is spending, but another $150 for more flexibility seems...

Signing Contract soon! Central Nebraska Pool Build

I would ask him to go with Pentair’s new IntelliCenter. I just got it installed, and it’s great. My PB initially had ET with ScreenLogic in the proposal. I asked him for IntelliCenter, and he didn’t even charge me extra (he did with several other items). IntelliCenter is their newest...
