Daily FC Loss - Is this really cheaper?

I guess I am confused a little about the target FC levels for maintaining and shock. If my CYA is 60 (which the test is pretty imprecise), the shock FC is 24. If i get my FC to that level and leave for work, when i come back the FC is way below that. How does that affect the SLAM? Likewise, if...

Daily FC Loss - Is this really cheaper?

We have started the TFP method and unfortunately we are SLAMing for the second time in 1 month. We had the pool nice and balanced but after a 20 kid party and a day or two dropping below the min FC, we were losing about 3 FC in the OCLT. Between the trips to Walmart buying gallons of bleach...

    Wet edge Pacific or Martinique

Yes, we like it. We think it looks a lot like sand and it is very soft on the feet.

New Pool Build – Kingwood, TX

No, there is no iridescence or metallic shine to it. The tiles do have more than just flat color though. They are very rich and have many layers.

Communication was a bit spotty, but which PB isn't that way? I am quite demanding and wanted to make sure all parties were on the same page, so he was probably tired of me. There were times I got frustrated but everything was done in the end. Work has held up very well. The slab he poured for...

The patio cover is 16' x 16'. The posts and beams are pressure treated pine. I just couldn't see spending $1500 more for cedar.

Thank you. No it is a standard 55" LED TV. I purchased it on sale for $400 at Walmart.com. So far it is going strong for just under a year. I figured if i get 2 years out of it, it is worth it. It will take 6 $400 tv's to equal $2500. I cover it with one of these, good quality for the price...

New Pool Build – Kingwood, TX

Thanks, we are fortunate to live on an acre in the city. We do love it but it takes a lot of work. We recently had a mosquito company come spray the backyard and it has been amazing. Two weeks ago Houston was blessed with San Diego weather and we spent every minute we could out there.

I would have to say the outdoor kitchen area. Having done it all myself, I am pleased it came out exactly like I had envisioned it. The patio cover was the hardest thing I have ever done, but well worth it in the end. Thanks for the kind words.

New Pool Build – Kingwood, TX

We are finally 100% complete with the pool and outdoor kitchen build. It took a lot of saving, hard work, sweat equity and a bit of stress. Just an FYI, don't build a pool / ODK when you have a baby on the way. I wanted to post some completed pics to finish off this thread. Maybe it will give...

No I purchased 2 pallets of Old Chicago brick (Approx 1000 bricks). The masons cut enough brick to do the back splash with thin brick, the rest is full size.

Thank you, it was the first time I had ever seen leather finish. Works well outside, reduces the glare and doesn't show dirt as much.

I did find time to do a little work this weekend. I finished the end of the ODK; I added a louver to help with the venting. I also went ahead and sealed the cedar to help prevent water and sun damage. I have a couple people coming out next week to give me quotes on the mason work. Anyone have...

I finally got back to work. I added the cement board for a little protection and a lot of strength. Added some treated plywood to the the inside so I had something to nail into. I went ahead and painted the plywood black, just in case I had some gaps in the cedar boards. I learned the...
