    2021 Planning

Ok, so put the pool to sleep and now want to plan for next summer. On top of upgrading the intakes to 1.5" and hard piping, I want to upgrade the filter. I was looking at the Intex 3000gph system, but starting to question if I want to move to something like a Hayward? Pool is not huge so I...

    Intex Closing (pictures)

Well first summer is now behind us and it was time to close. Being in New England and wanting to keep the pool up vs disassembly, I thought I would post a few pictures of my current setup and its closing. I think I am just going to shrink wrap the entire pool seeing as I have more of that...

    Closing/Winterizing

Finding out that a 9x18 rectangle is not your typical normal size with round and oval being the dominant styles. With that could I use a oval 12x20 as that seems to be the closest in size I can find. Also anyone have an idea where we can get these?

    eXtremely Cloudy Water

The water is very cloudy and is white in nature. This seems to have happened when we dropped our PO which was staggeringly high down to a better but still high number. Unfortunately with an Intex we could not introduce the chemicals into a strainer but had to do it directly to the pool near...

    DIY Skimmer

My only hang-up with adding a skimmer to the Intex was the need to drop the water level a bit for it to function. I just came across this DIY method. Any thoughts???

    Decks

Has anyone tried putting in a resign deck? This 5x10 looks about perfect for out 9x18. Just not sure if the stairs can be moved more in bound. https://www.thepoolfactory.com/5x10-resin-pool-deck-with-steps.html

    Replacement pump

Currently running as 1200gph stock pump that came with the pool. Knew from the get go it was adequate at best and that we would just use it for the first season just to get things setup. Looking forward I was thinking going with the 3000gph pump and realized that maybe Intex is not what I...

Intex transition to PVC and back

I have the transition from Intex to PVC down. What I am trying to do is transition from the PVC back to the silly 40mm connection so that I can connect a hose from the PVC run to the pump. Does anyone have any pictures or video on how this is done?

    Intex Low flow

When I first connected it or if I dis-assemble reconnect the flow rate is really good. After time the flow seems to be more of a trickle. Not sure but the SWG seems to create a bunch of air bubbles within its clear tube and I noticed that some seems to get trapped within the discharge line as...

    Intex suction lines

I have seen people using rope in order to reduce the strain of the pipes pulling on the liner. In my daily searching I came across this and was wondering what others thought...

    Chemical confusion...

I have a brand new 9x18 Intex that was just setup and filled this past Sunday. Today I stopped by Leslie Pools and inquired as to what I should do and explained everything. I was handed a packet of Chlor Brite and told to dump the entire package (16 oz.) in to my pool then bring in a water...

    Possible Problem Intex 18x9 Install

Ok, ground is level, 1.5" of sand is in and level (used a commercial compactor and saved a ton of time). Ordered a GLI Armor pad from ProPools with 3 days shipping. As of now I have zero confirmation on shipping and zero replies to phone or email inquiries. We REALLY were hoping to start...

    New Intex 18ft X 9ft X 52in Ultra XTR Pump/SW Upgrade?

Posted in the wrong forum so reposting here: I am still excavating but after reading, it looks like maybe I want to upgrade the pump and add a salt water system at some point. For the pump it comes with a 1,200gph. I looked and the next size up would be 2,100gph pump. Or should I go even...

    Pool Pad options

I am just starting the install of an Intex 9x18x52 XTR pool and looking for the best options for a pool pad and came up with this as an idea... Level land, little sand to take up the imperfections, gorilla pad and then: 1/2 Inch Rubber Mat I am just not sure if I want 1/2" or 1/4". Thoughts...
