Who is correct? Taylor Salt PPM vs Hayward Chlorinator PPM

The water temperature is low at night but is currently 68F (The Chicago snow is cooling Georgia). I realize that the cell does not generate below 50F. any education note pointers about the effect of temperature on salt readings, please?

Who is correct? Taylor Salt PPM vs Hayward Chlorinator PPM

Gotcha! So pander to the cell and use the K1776 to prevent a real level from going above 4000. Presume when the cell is older and cannot cope at the 4000 real levels - is the point of cell replacement?

Who is correct? Taylor Salt PPM vs Hayward Chlorinator PPM

Hayward Prologic PL-P-4 Controller as in my signature . Is the instant reading any use at all as the cell appears to use the average reading before deciding to generate

Who is correct? Taylor Salt PPM vs Hayward Chlorinator PPM

?Thanks for your very helpful comments. The cell did not produce at 2600 and does produce now at 2800 but these levels appear arbitrary and I wonder if that will change just as randomly. So I should bring up/maintain the salt level to the bare minimum just up to ' low end of the salt range'...

Who is correct? Taylor Salt PPM vs Hayward Chlorinator PPM

HI, New SWG build 'professionally' retrofitted in February- the cell is vertical with hump side up, followed by the flow switch. I just started the pool last week. I brought up the pool to 3200 PPM tested by the Taylor K-1776 however the Hayward T15 SWP persistently read 2600 PPM. Checke the...

    Pool Panel Wiring Question

Its a Hayward PL-PLUS chlorinator with a subpanel - to accommodate the 240 volt breaker for the pump and needs a 120 volt supply with neutral for the control circuit . Had to redo the wires simply for the neutral but that wil come in handy for future electrical yard projects as the subpanel is...

    Pool Panel Wiring Question

Guys - You are awesome! Makes sense now. Per recommendations: I am going to have a regular breaker at the Main panel and wire up 2 GFCIs at the subpanel - 240 v for the VSP and a separate 120 V for the control circuit. Will report back and once I am organized I will write all this up

SWCG- Cable routing and sensor mount

Thank you. Going by the cable specs I think PG7 is correct. Presume these have the 1/2" NPT threads to screw into the pump

SWCG- Cable routing and sensor mount

Thanks - just that the entry hole normally is pretty large. Guess I will just use regular liquid tight conduit.

SWCG- Cable routing and sensor mount

Hi Which saddle tee do I use to mount a temperature sensor ( 3/8" drill size hole ) on 1 1/2" PVC. Any tips or build pictures? Which 1/2" NPT strain relief do I use that is narrow enough for the RS485 cable to waterproof it? Can I piggyback it with the 220V cable in the liquid-tight conduit...

    Retrofit SWCG on 1.5" Questions

Thank you Divin Dave! Looking at my home depot 2" unions they don't fit the cell and think only proprietary Hayward GLX-CELL unions can be used and interface them to the cell and get a dummy cell for winter. Interestingly here...

Equipment pad plumbing 1.5 or 2”

jonpcar - sounds like a great idea and I am tempted to do that too. However would this not reduce (lose efficiency) where it enters/leaves the 1.5" pump and enters/leaves the 1.5" filter unless those have 2" ports? I have a similar setup and would have loved a 2" or bigger conduits

    Retrofit SWCG on 1.5" Questions

Hi All, Noob questions. I have inherited this 1.5" pipe system and planning a retrofit Hayward SWCG which is a 2" system with a Pro-logic PL4 control panel . My pump pad system and planned SWCG insertion into the return is shown. Questions: 1. Does this look right? 2. Flow sensor plumbed...

Equipment pad plumbing 1.5 or 2”

Not sure if it makes a difference as all the underground PVC is going to be 1.5". I am in a similar situation. Ideally 2" or even bigger with sweep elbows to maximize flow throughout the pool. You will have to reduce back to 1.5 at the filter and pump input/output.

    Installing SWG ourselves?

Hi everyone So I know its plumbed into the return line: Filter - (Heater) - SWCG Cell - Return Valves Can someone bring up a schematic on how to wire up the SWCG so that it comes on when a VS Pump comes on? Mine has its own built in timer thing (Century V-Green 1.65 HP Variable Speed...
