    Filter issue

So I went to open my inground pool this season and apparently forgot to turn a valve leading in the explosion of the pipe assembly outlet. I have a clean and clear Plus Pentair CCP320 cart filter. So I called around and it looks like I am looking at 140$ just to replace this one part. I have...

    Diverter valve and pipe broken

So I started trying to decide about changing my filter and ultimately decided to try harder this year with my chemistry instead of plunging into changing a filter and spending all of that $. So as I was inspecting my pool and getting ready to open it I realized that a two way valve and pipe was...

    Total frustration with my filter

What are the advantages of the top mount as it is currently plumbed for a side mount for the filter cartridge. Just curious. I can replumb but would prefer it to be easiest.

Wow, I have looked at the DE filters.....ouch on the price. Since,I know nothing of sand filters what is recommended? Should I stick with Pentair as that is my pump? Also with sand what size? Should I over size? Thanks for the info!

    Total frustration with my filter

So every year I battle with my start up of my pool and this year shall be no different I'm sure. I have a freeform 14x33 pool. Tough to calculate gallons on the pool calculator as free form is not an option. Based on rectangular it is 18k gallons but I know it is not. I have a pentair 4 speed...

    completely dismayed...just stopped working

So I FINALLY got it fixed. I isolated the issue with the bottom drain. I had ruled out the pump, filter and the skimmer. I then messed around with the bottom drain valve and realized I had a bad oring. Oring replaced and retightened and I'm back to fighting my swamp. I have dumped so much...

Ok. I push the water through the skimmer and it eventually fills up and comes back. I push water through the bottom drain and it flows and flows and flows. No seemingly water loss in the pool. How do you unclog a clogged pipe? I had a skimmer plug in for the winter and the strainer has been in...

    completely dismayed...just stopped working

Had to work, will retry in the am. Thinking I have a sort of clog. I got it going, came home at 1am to see if it was still running and it was shut off and dry and I couldn't reprime it again. I shot water through the pump earlier, not sure what to look for? It went through fine until the pipes...

I shut it off, shoved my little fingers through and couldn't feel anything stuck in the impeller.

Checked it out, impeller moves just fine. Motor shaft at back turning fine. Can you post video links on this site?

No valves were moved. Strainer was cleaned but I checked it 3 times and it is seated right and fine. When I open the air bleed it just dribbles water down the side of the filter, even when the pump is on 4. Nope I took off filter housing and cleaned oring and replaced it very carefully. The...

I have a fiberglass 14k gallon fiberglass pool about 6 years old. I had a hayward super pump and filter on the pool and it could hardly keep up. I had another pump and filter system from another house and I did a switch out. Bear in mind my plumbing skills are rudamentary at best. The new pump...

I guess I am a wimp but seriously, I got dizzy reading your posts  I lived in SC for 3 years and they have rattlers and copperheads. I never saw either, but I also refused to go outside in the woods to try! I have a friend there that was a snake enthusiast and he caught snakes all of the...

My daughters don't want to use our pool-Tangles!

2 suggestions. 1) even if you don't have a swg you can add salt to your pool it softens the water and helps hair alot. 2) get the girls some cool looking swim caps, braid their hair and put it up in a bun before placing the cap on.

    Chasing a ghost?

I suppose if you have dropped in fertilizer the cl would be consuming it as it is technically an organic. But my concern would be that if the organic was unsanitizing the water and you start swimming before you have no fc loss, you may be posing issues to your kids. I'm no expert, but I would...

    Newbie, green water/mustard algae?

Yes you need to brush all around during shock process, this helps to loosen things and then filters them. Sometimes algae can still be alive on walls as it makes a protective barrier and may not be affected by the shock unless brushed. Keep shocking, brushing, filtering, vacuuming.

Pool cloudy, mostly in deep end

Yes hold the shock level and keep that pump running 24/7. You are nearing the end. You probably are just at the point of needing to filter it out but, it won't hurt to keep at shock level just the same. Good job hanging in there :goodjob:

    Run waterfalls or not?

Run em at night, cooling things down in the pool, you want to circulate all the water and treat it all with your balanced water eventually anyway. If your in the shocking process then it wouldn't hurt to run them.

    Green Pool Help

I had a thermistor prob too, didn't much matter for heat but it sure did for freeze protection, had to replace it, luckily was under warranty as it was only a few months old. Ha you had me hooked 187, I thought wow I could cook a hotdog in his pool
