    Jandy Valve Positioning

Bt if I vacuum to waste -- which is what I was told to do - then it never goes into the filter. That is my impression.

    Jandy Valve Positioning

I do have a Dolphin Robot -- but I also have a vacuum -- and yes, it is a pain in the rear and thus I only used it once when I had a fiend here who did it for me. I have a ton of gunk on the bottom from a damaged cover I had to replace late in the Fall -- figured might as well use it. Northern...

    Jandy Valve Positioning

I thought I was supposed to be able to shut off 1 side to attach the vacuum -- so if I shut off the side suction - then attach the vacuum to the Skimmer - my suction theoretically will be much stronger. I guess I'd only need to shut off the one side that the side suction is on. So perhaps...

    Jandy Valve Positioning

How can this be correct? Wouldn't the Jandy Valve need to be positioned to the right -- so it can actually control / prevent that flow?

    Pool Check Valve

https://www.troublefreepool.com/blog/2019/01/18/suction-side-air-leaks/2/ The link I meant to paste above -- is what I intend to do... 5 Kids - Last Week of School - Work From Home - I "INTEND" to do lots of things... I thought I would check it all this morning before any kids woke up... but...

    Pool Check Valve

I found this and read it -- so it seems you are right. ZERO bubbles / air should be seen -- and I see a LOT of bubles. I printed out Page 2 of that -- and when I can get outside tonight -- will go 1 by 1 and try to pin this issue down -- or have to pay someone to do it. :cautious:

    Pool Check Valve

This morning I opened it -- cleaned up the o-ring and lubed it up a ton. Prior to this - it was repeatedly lowering and then you could hear the pump strain a bit as it refilled. The psi would fluctuate along with that. Since I did this clean / lube this morning --- that seems to have stopped...

    Pool Check Valve

I believe this is called a Pool Check Valve. If not - please tell me what it is called. But my questions is: Should this be FULL of Water in any cycle? [filter, rinse, backwash, etc] ALL cycles? Just some cycles? Can there be bubbles? Or can it even be low?

    Losing prime on filter setting

OK -- sorry for now triple posting... but I think this is something you NEED to know ASAP I put my filter in backwash, rinse, and back to filter and watched each for a couple minutes. The flow is uninterrupted and strong. Again - I cleaned it all up and lubed the crepe out of it. By the way...

    Losing prime on filter setting

So -- just checked the O-Ring and it looked pretty good -- but I wiped it down and lubed it up and primed up that whole area and started the filter again. Will go back in a few and look to see if it looks any different in terms of the water level staying constant and psi. The pool guys I...

    Losing prime on filter setting

Well now it is morning --- and zero water loss. Which I hope means there is no underground leak. Today I am going to go take a look at that O-Ring. To leave my pump / filter running all night - all I needed to do is tell my Electric Company my bank account and routing number and how to access...

    Losing prime on filter setting

10+ hours later -- water level exactly the same with filter running non-stop!

    Losing prime on filter setting

I am going to hope to rule that out today by filling up the pool to a specific mark - and taking a photo in case. I just did that. Now I am gonna do nothing else today except let the filter run. And touch nothing else. Sometime tonight I'll go re-measure. And join multiple religions today...

    Losing prime on filter setting

I've not replaced the O-Ring nor Have I lubed it -- but I can do both. I am still waiting for someone to contact me from the Angieslist "request a quote" -- But I will definitely let you know what they say. I am hoping there is no crack in anything underground in the meantime.

    Losing prime on filter setting

Mine fluctuates for sure. Just as you are describing -- and this morning when I looked - it fluctuated in backwash for sure -- seems to be steady in rinse. Previous house owner told me 10psi was right and he would backwash at 20psi. Right now -- post backwash, rinse -- repeat -- AND after...

    Losing prime on filter setting

I think I might be in the same boat... The thing in the photo -- I prime it and then start my filter. It fills up but almost always has bubbles in it. My brother in law tells me he doesn't think it should. A pool guy told me it doesn't matter. But you can audibly hear that it seems to...
