Hayward Navigator ultra not moving and not because lack of pressure.

The only other thing I can think and I need to research is I bought replacement wings but maybe I did not buy the ones for the ultra - just regular navigator flap kit - I wonder if the ultra flaps are bigger and that could be the issue - I am grasping at different theories.

Hayward Navigator ultra not moving and not because lack of pressure.

I thought it was not enough suction but then I used the pressure gauge and pressure is fine. The pods and flaps move like a beast when suspended and I removed the weight on the hose as well thinking the hose is weighing it down. I lift the hose to aid its movement and it moves fast then slows...

Lower phosphates to clear your water

Re: Is this my first issue with algae? I sure like my results and it is another tool that can work, just offering the op an alternative that worked beautifully for me thanks.

Lower phosphates to clear your water

Re: Is this my first issue with algae? Before phosfree and with plenty of fc I could not see the other end of the pool underwater with goggles and now I can, it is a dramatic difference and the blue is back. I am not saying don't use chlorine but if you feel chlorine is not tipping the balance...

Lower phosphates to clear your water

Split from HERE to avoid derailing the other thread. jblizzle I have been using liquid chlorine only to maintain my pool but always battling borderline algae and cloudiness. What worked amazing for me was three cupfuls of phosfree my pool was crystal clear in a day or so - chlorine only feels...

    pool light and CGFI issue

thanks for the ideas. I should mention that I plugged a hair dryer in the outlet and got it to work. Not sure if that means anything.

    pool light and CGFI issue

the CGFI breaker is on an outlet next to my control box that offers two 110V plugs. When I push the red button in and turn on the light on from the control box the red button pops out.

    pool light and CGFI issue

last year my pool light went out and I did not replace it (I have another pool light in the pool on other end and then a spa light). I did not replace it because never really swam at night. This year when I tried to turn on the lights all were not working. I checked the CGFI and the red...

Plumbing to the multiport valve of filter

Thank you for that. I never shopped for these before so I hope these type of unions are easy to find. I will glue on half of the new union and then screw on to the existing pipes that have the other half of the union on their end if I follow correctly.

Plumbing to the multiport valve of filter

See those three unions (screw on collars) on each of the three pipes leading to the multi port valve? When I buy a new multi-port valve for the purposes of connecting it to the plumbing do I need to just buy the plumbing parts from the valve to the union? It appears with my existing valve that...

I need a new pool spa pump

Thanks. According to the label in the picture is the service factor 1.10? I am not sure that is the correct reading but my pump is 2hp so would wouldn't I need to get another 2 hp or 1.5 uprated is sufficient to be comparable to the old motor?

I need a new pool spa pump

When I asked for a pump recommendation I should have mentioned I want to replace the whole thing from the pump all the way to the basket because there is a small water leak and I'm sure it's coming from the pump or from somewhere around the basket but since it's so old I want to replace the...

I need a new pool spa pump

I was generally happy with the amount of turbulence caused by the Jets but the pump was already running really loud so I am sure it wasn't running at it's optimal condition

I need a new pool spa pump

I'm sorry I don't understand what do you need me to take a picture of, another part of the pump? or what is the wet end?

Thanks. Any recommendations on a cheap but reliable solution?

I need a new pool spa pump

Here is my old pump - it is dedicated soley to the jets in my spa for making the water bubbly. It is dead. It is really old. I want a new pump and wondered if today's smaller and maybe cheaper pumps can do the work this dinosaur did. If you need to recommend an equivalent 2.0HP pump then so...

Very High CYA level requires high chlorine level - is it safe?

Here is my answer based on a similar situation - The CYA is commonly introduced by those chorine tabs we float in the pool to maintain chlorine levels between shock treatments. Overtime trhe CYA builds up. When my CYA level was high the pool supply clerk said based on my measurements if I was...

alternatives to ortega spring check valves

Hi Sargent - I had a question about the new jandy valve vs. the olld ortega valves. It would be cheaper to go with the Jandy but would requireme to cut off the existing ortega valves and install the Jandy's. What I think may help me decide is currently what I do is stick a hose into one of...

alternatives to ortega spring check valves

I posted a question about waterfall pulp losing priming and I think it is because the end caps to each line had missing springs and check valve housings on each ortega spring check valve housing. It is weird - I bought the house 2 years ago and just noticed that there are no springs or housing...

    Waterfall pump priming problems

When I turn on the waterfall pump it does not always prime so I open the check valve and stick a hose and add water until it starts filling up and pushes water out then I screw the cap back on before full force o f the water pushes back. I then wait and open the valve slightly to let out air...

Estimating costs involved in replacing pumps, etc

I am two years into running old pool equipment that I think has been around since the late 80's or early 90's. The filter may be newer and some of the valve controllers but here is what I want to do: Jandy VS 1.5 HP pump to replace old single speed replace 2.0 HP spa pump with new one (old...

    low pressure with navigator cleaner

Maybe I was not clear, I only see air when I close the other two valves. To maximize suction I close the first valve and the skimmer valve I close half way. My navigator moves but based on the flow gauge it comes with to measure ideal suction I am not getting enough. So the next logical step...

    low pressure with navigator cleaner

I am not getting enough suction to power the navigator so I assumed 2HP would do the trick. I cannot close the 2nd valve because if I close it fully the pump starts straining and air is introduced into the pump - it is like the pump cannot pull in enough water through the suction line only fast...

ok, so if I stick with the valve placement - do I go to 2HP ?

Advice on aqua link conversion upgrade?

I have been looking at the upgrade possibilities. I currently have the Jandy RS8 and the sticker on the indoor controller says version E. I assume I need the 7092 upgrade part but I am seeing there is the IQ-900 RS upgrade path that allows for me to upgrade the board at the controller and then...

    low pressure with navigator cleaner

Hi - I switched from a barracuda to a navigator because I find the navigator better at picking up the eucalyptus leaves. I have seen better suction pressure when I backwash the pump and I have checked for the common problems with suction. I do have a rather old 1.5 HP pump. The question I had...

What parts do I need for intellitouch automation

I am not happy with the Jandy Aqualink because it is my understanding was that the Jandy could not control VS pumps - are you saying that with the firmware upgrade I can control a Jandy VS pump? I may be interested in that solution. I will have to research the Jandy pumps - on Amazon the...

What parts do I need for intellitouch automation

The problem with the aqua link RS8 is that there are no settings for controlling the variable speed properties of a VS pump. So I am not sure what parts would be needed to link a VS pump to my existing system. I don't understand why they ssell circuit boards to upgrade the RS8 - I am assuming...

Upgrade options for aqua link rs8

My pool spa is controlled by jandy aqua link rs8. I want to buy a variable speed pump like the Intelliflo but I'm concerned about what equipment I need to buy. Obviously my existing controller does not handle variable speeds. I see they sell a circuit board to handle that and it attaches to the...

What parts do I need for intellitouch automation

I am looking at replacing my main pump with a vs pump and looking at the VF intelliflo. Right now I have the Jandy RS8 controller wired into the bedroom to control the system (waterfall pump, filter pump, spa pump and pool light). I am trying to research what components I need to help...
