    Pump making noise

I agree. It sounds more like a seal noise. There is an opening underneath the motor where if I curl the straw hose up under there and spray the noise went away. At least it did for a few weeks.

No idea. The pool repair guy found the fix on youtube. Had to reapply it yesterday.

    Pump making noise

Brought pool guy out. Duplicated the noise. He did an internet search and said if I sprayed silicone lubricant up the underside of the pump the noise would go away. I did that and no more noise.

    Pump making noise

Just checked my receipt. Tomorrow is the 1 year mark from install. Called and they said parts but not labor still covered! This is my 2nd variable speed intelliflo pump. The 1st one only lasted 2 years. At $1500 a pop it gets expensive.

    Pump making noise

I have a Pentair InteliflowXF variable speed pump. Yesterday I noticed it making a loud mechanical hum. The noise changes with RPM. I was worried about running it, perhaps bad bearings. Any thoughts?

    Filter cleaning

I do have a few trees close by that clog things up a little Even every 3 months I find a considerable amount of small plant junk in there. I googled the TSP and see it's at home depot. I might try that to ensure that when I hose off the filters I'm also cleaning them.

    Filter cleaning

I clean my cartridge filters about every 3 months. I use a garden hose and it takes about an hour to clean all 4. Once, my neighbor suggested I fill a trash can with diluted muriatic acid and submerge the filters to make them white again. I did this. It made a big mess but the filters came...

    Variable speed pump run times

I used to run it at 2700 RPM, but I felt the water coming out of the pool jets was minimal/insufficient. I increased it to 2900 RPM and closed the feed to the spa a tiny bit in hope of having the same volume of water going to the spa and the rest as an increase in the pool jet pressure. Seems...

    Variable speed pump run times

I do not have an automatic system. All valves have to be moved manually. If I want to keep the hot tub chlorinated then I have to run it too and I'm too lazy to move the valves daily after about 3 hours. Unless I'm not thinking of a different way. I currently have the spa return line closed...

    Variable speed pump run times

I have a Pentair IntellifloXF. I currently run it at 2900 RPM for about 10 hours a day (9am-7pm). I have a raised hot tub with a water spout/fall that I want to have the proper flow as well as circulate the pool. I was considering running the pump at a lower setting, maybe at 1000 RPM, for a...
