Green Pool this morning, Hot and Humid Party tomorrow... HELP!

I like the lighter color too. I'm due for a new liner in the next year or 2 and my wife likes the darker blue. My liner now is very light blue and the water looks like the carribbean. At least it did before yesterday. Is the concern just with visibility? Or are there health concerns with...

Green Pool this morning, Hot and Humid Party tomorrow... HELP!

Weather is pretty crappy, so I doubt we'll have much pool action today. BUT my niece and nephew are fish and they'll want to swim unless there is thunder and lighting. Let me know what you guys think about the clarity. Also, FC is at 17.5 and I'm thinking I won't add any more until after the...

Green Pool this morning, Hot and Humid Party tomorrow... HELP!

I agree, definitely not the clear water I've been so proud of the rest of the summer. Is it dangerous or unhealthy to swim in water like this? - - - Updated - - - FC seems seems to be holding firm at 19.5ppm. Reduced DE to half cup and pressure still rose to 10 so I'll work with that for a...

Yeah I saw that too. Don't know about where you are but when the forecast calls for tstorms this summer we've gotten nada. - - - Updated - - - Grabbed a quick pic, I was getting stuff done upstairs and getting dark so a little grainy. You can see the robot for reference of how clear/cloudy...

Green Pool this morning, Hot and Humid Party tomorrow... HELP!

Pressure was up to 15 (!) so I backwashed and I'm back down to 9. Does the DE wash out when I backwash and need to be added whenever I do? Sorry if this has been covered, never used it before. - - - Updated - - - Not a bad idea.

Green Pool this morning, Hot and Humid Party tomorrow... HELP!

Got some DE and added until pressure went up by 1psi from 9 to 10. Ended up being a cup and a half. Swept the pool and will be running my robot cleaner as often as possible. My FC is 19.5 and I'll check before bed to make sure it's around 20 or so for the might and will do an OCLT...

Green Pool this morning, Hot and Humid Party tomorrow... HELP!

Thanks, think I'll give it a shot. I say 4-6 hours because by the time I'm able to add it, that's about how much time I'll have to monitor before I head to bed.

Green Pool this morning, Hot and Humid Party tomorrow... HELP!

How long would I need to babysit the DE for? I assume you mean that I need to watch the pressure during the adding process and then afterwards before I backwash. Is 4-6 hours enough time to give myself?

Green Pool this morning, Hot and Humid Party tomorrow... HELP!

I'm afraid to even ask... My pool is green today, I can still see the bottom in the 9' deep end. I added bleach to bring it to a little over shock level today, here are my approximate numbers: CYA - 45 (Low for a salt water pool) FC - About 20-23 (was 13 when I checked, waiting for added...

Starting SLAM! Green mess, high filter pressure and PH

Well it took a lot of time, but the pool is looking great! I ran the OCLT last night and this morning the FC had dropped by 1.0 and CC is 0.5. I also installed the new gauge and it works great, thanks again for the advice one that one. Now that I'm a supporting member I can post a couple of...

Starting SLAM! Green mess, high filter pressure and PH

Ordered! Thanks for all the help today Maddie! Added acid and waiting for it to circulate, will test again and if PH looks good I plan to start the slam process. I'll probably only have a few hours of daylight, is it OK to not check the FC levels and maintain shock level overnight?

Starting SLAM! Green mess, high filter pressure and PH

No it doesn't go to 0 when off and I have a feeling it is broken. Maybe this confirms I need a new one? I've gotten as much of the leaves off the bottom as I can without being able to see and I sweep around with the net often. Haven't vacuumed to waste yet. On my phone so no pics but will...

Starting SLAM! Green mess, high filter pressure and PH

Here are my numbers: CYA 45 FC 0 PH - see below TA 60 The pressure gauge on my filter is high and staying in the 25-30 range, even during and after backwashes. Could this be due to the heavy algae? My pool is thick green, can barely see the top step. I also just opened the pool to start...
