    Someone intentionally put that thumb cap on for a reason, I would bet to use to blow the lines, somebody made that a simple way to attach your blower. Use it.

    I dose my pool with polyquat 60, It works great when I need a little help due to loss of power or when I’m not there a day or two. It keeps the algae at bay. I use it when I close during the winter also.

    Thanks for the replies folks. Im at 32oz everyday with this sun now. 20k pool, cya 60. Dose it every evening after the sun goes down. 12 % chlorine.

    My pool is also surrounded my large oak trees and the leaves get under the mesh cover big time during the fall. I do nothing to prevent this because it takes about an hour in the spring to get them out.

    My sand filter works better when I don’t backwash a lot. Go by your pressure gauge.

    I go through the same thing with the pollen and my sand filter. DE is your friend in the spring.

    You may want to try some Diatomaceous Earth in you skimmer. I use about 1/4 cup, dump it in the skimmer and it ends up in the sand filter. That stuff really helps grab lose fine debris fast. But be warned, it will catch so much debris, it will raise your pressure with in a couple of hrs. So...

    That sounds like a good way to damage the threads. I visualize someone hitting that and cracking those plastic threads to point an eyeball wouldn’t work anymore.

    Removing Anti-Freeze from Skimmer and Return Lines

    I always just pump it out. I first hook up pump, pull plugs in returns and skimmers, put garden hose in pump basket, turn on to prime pump, turn multi valve to waste, turn on pump motor, look at back wash hose and all the red AF coming out. Done.
