    Switch to SWG?

I've said before and I will say it again but prices of salt cells are going UP because the ruthenium and iridium prices have skyrocketed. If a vendor is lowering prices you will have to check to see if the warranty has changed or the manufacturer has cut the rated hours of the cell down to...

    Hayward T-Cell-15

Who exactly offered you a 10% discount to keep the cell? Amazon or the seller who sold on Amazon? In my experience, Amazon is not in the habit of offering up 10% discounts to keep products. As I have explained before, third party sellers would do anything to keep the sale because they can pawn...

    Hayward T-Cell-15

It really shouldn't be all that difficult for Hayward to explain it's warranty. Obviously some of the online resellers are contributing to the confusion because they just assume that the warranty is still three years and will say anything to make the sale. Those resellers push the warranty off...

Zero Amps, Ghost in the Machine

I was going to say that as well. While I'm sure the Hayward display board will somewhat work with the generic main board, I'm not 100% convinced that the two boards would be fully compatible with one another. Guess we will have to wait for the OP to respond.

Zero Amps, Ghost in the Machine

Judging by the diagnostics he posted, IMO it's BlueWorks generic board for AquaRite systems.

Zero Amps, Ghost in the Machine

T-15 setting on BlueWorks boards is 60,000 gallon pools. You want to make sure all the settings match the Hayward T-CELL-15 which I believe is C-15 for their board. Here is the somewhat confusing manual: https://www.blueworkspool.com/uploads/ca82c7e5.pdf The company is usually pretty hard to...

Cell isn't responding to cleaning... Replacement time?

So it turns out James is correct (no surprise). Spent yesterday chopping up the Hayward t-15, t-9, and t-3 cells. The results (easier to see difference if I use millimeters): T-15 has 13PCS Titanium Plates, Size is 150*63mm. T-9 has 13PCS Titanium Plates, Size is 101*63mm. T-3 has 7PCS...

Goldline Aqua Rite Check Salt Light and Inspect Cell

Glad the new board worked out and you are up and running. I've encountered about a dozen cases in the past three months where the AquaRite K2 relay has overheated and burned out. All of them have occurred on boards r1.40 and earlier. Practically all customers have reported a burning smell in...

AquaRite t-cell-15 replacement is so confusing with software version

We do see some leakers sometimes but it almost always due to the user cross threading the unions onto the cell and/or overtightening the unions. Can't tell you how many people tell me they have to use pipe straps or channel lock pliers to remove cells for cleaning. If the sellers won't respond...

AquaRite t-cell-15 replacement is so confusing with software version

All Hayward cells should be backwards compatible to the control boards. The oldest version I've come across is r1.06. Hayward of course wants you to upgrade to the most current version r1.59 which supposedly solves the current limiter issue. I can only speak for myself (and this is not an ad...

Not sure what to do - SWG

Don't do it unless you want to call Australia for your customer service (it's a rebranded CompuPool cell). If you want to return it, I don't think anyone has ever directly reached that retailer in North Carolina or Illinois by phone or e-mail. The 5 yr warranty is worthless. Are you prepared to...

New T-CELL-15 Instant Salt Reading Low

For what it's worth, I agree with what you are saying. I think the main PCB board is faulty in some way. That's the only thing that hasn't been replaced so Hayward cannot definitely rule that out.

New T-CELL-15 Instant Salt Reading Low

Just reviewing your average salt levels from the past three weeks: 7/18 : 2800-2900 7/21: 2700 8/7 : 2400 I recall you saying that you had some splash out from the pool but was it significant? Have you had to drain a lot of water from the pool due excessive rain? Do you have an auto fill...

    Replacement SWG

That's great news! Hopefully you will get a few more months or a year from the cell. Anything is gravy right now. You may have to eventually turn up the duty cycle to 75-80 (or more) if you think chlorine output is lacking at 25%. One other thing. From your pictures it looks like the plastic...

New T-CELL-15 Instant Salt Reading Low

A Hayward cell missing a sticker is like a vehicle missing a VIN number imo. The serial number on the front panel of the box only refers to how old the box is. If you have updated the main PCB board previously (I haven't read the entire thread) then that serial number is meaningless. It's been...

    Replacement SWG

If you don't have a cell cleaning stand, just buy a tall bucket from Lowes or Home Depot and get some muriatic acid, (4 parts water, 1 part MA) and stand cell up in the bucket so the all the plates are covered in a the solution. Try not to submerse the cord connection. Let it fizz for as long as...

Goldline Aqua Rite Check Salt Light and Inspect Cell

Try checking the rectangular relays just below the display board. You may have a cold solder break. Dab a bead of solder on each point. I have had a rash of calls lately on a similar issue affecting r1.40 and earlier boards. However in all cases, it's been 0000 ppm salt and 0 amps and cells...

    AquaRite Problem Solved

Just quoting JamesW from an archived thread: <Those are old boards. So, it doesn't make sense that they would suddenly begin failing. If there was an issue with those boards, it would have become noticeable by now. The solder points carry 6 to 8 amps, which is a significant amount of current...

    Replacement SWG

It costs very little to clean your cell in a muriatic acid bath. As a last resort, take your cell to a pool store and have them test on their cell tester. You either get a PASS or FAIL reading. Then proceed from there.

    AquaRite Problem Solved

Moved from here. I've had a rash of customer calls this past week for AquaRite systems reading 0000 ppm average salt and 0 amps. When the owner tries to reset the average salt level, the current limiter "clicks" and goes to -0 (instant salt) but doesn't cycle . What we have found is the...

Hayward Aqua Rite not recalibrating, Instant Salinity and Salt Level stuck at Zero

Wow, that is quite disappointing to hear. Customer service folks working from home rather than from the office shouldn't cause much of a delay but it seems to give Hayward the perfect excuse to drag it's feet.

Hayward Aqua Rite not recalibrating, Instant Salinity and Salt Level stuck at Zero

This is an issue where you probably need to call Hayward especially since the cell is new. I'm betting that something is going on with the board. Normally I would just shut everything off, unplug cords, flip the main power off, let it rest for 10 minutes, and then plug everything back in and...

    SWG Prices

Yes that is true. Most of the ruthenium goes to disk drive and capacitor manufacturers. South Africa and Russia are other supply countries. The gouging has already happened but could get worse. China desperately wants US dollars so they continue to sell to the US. They could corner the market...

    SWG Prices

Supply and demand. With precious metals it costs more and more these days to extract the material from the ground. Unless the demand dries up, which is unlikely, higher prices are here to stay , all things being equal.

    SWG Prices

I know I've beat a dead horse over the last couple of years but the raw material prices of SWG components keep on increasing. First it was Ruthenium skyrocketing, now it's Iridium and even the raw titanium plates themselves plus the cost of labor. Depending on what inventory levels...

    Salt Cell Post Mortem #2

Good job. It takes awhile with heavy hammer but is so much fun. Nice ole industrial bandsaw is much easier. Got to remember these are the AFTER pictures on the plates from almost five years use. Yes, epoxy.

Cell isn't responding to cleaning... Replacement time?

Since I only sell T-15 equivalent cell I haven't given much thought to other models having smaller plate surfaces. I assumed that all the cell models used the same length housing that plates fit into. Why have several sets of housings? I'd say the Salt Solution guys would know for sure since...

Cell isn't responding to cleaning... Replacement time?

The difference is actually the number of plates inside the cell. The plates are all the same size no matter which size cell you use.

    AquaRite TurboCell-15 issues

If your duty cycle is still set to 21% with a r1.40 board , that means the cell is on for 25 minutes, then goes off for 95 minutes and repeats that cycle for however long your pump runs. Try turning the duty cycle up to 65-70% and see how that works and then begin to dial it down as the summer...
