    Disabling SWG

Is it fine to have the flow switch on when we don’t use the cell after opening next spring?

    Disabling SWG

It won’t turn off with the power button. It just has an alert that the cell is missing and the power button is useless. Now I’m thinking I’ll have to plug the cell back in, hit power, then remove the cell...

    Disabling SWG

We had a great first year with our RJ60+. We’re getting our pool remodeled in the spring and we won’t be able to use the SWG for the first 30 days. I bought a bypass valve for when we close. Do I need to disable the flow switch? Right now the salt console turns on with the pump. What’s the best...

For an area with freezing temps- would you all recommend brick coping over cantilevered concrete?

Renovation tips for eastern PA (philly burbs)

I’m totally interested in this thread because we’re also renovating our old pool and we live in the same area. The price we were quoted sounds similar to yours. We’re trying to decide between brick or concrete cantilever coping. What are you go in go with? What finish?

They were talking about all of the plumbing. Probably why his quote was so high....

    Renovation- hearing conflicting information....

Hello! We’re planning on renovating our old Anthony pool from the 1970s (new finish, new deck, new tile) It’s never been replastered, so you can imagine what it looks like. We’ve had three different companies come out and give conflicting advice. pb1: Don’t get glass tiles. They break...

    Lanternflies

Anyone else here from PA dealing with the spotted lanternfly invasion in your pool this year? I’m running the pump constantly and there’s always at least 100 on the surface. After I skim, 50 will fall back in. Any tricks on dealing with these suckers? We live in the woods, which doesn’t help...

    Bad O Ring/ High Pressure

We just moved in in September so we never have. Maybe it’s time?

    Bad O Ring/ High Pressure

I cleaned the filter cartridges again with a garden hose and wiped and lubed the o ring. I got the leak to stop! Filter pressure is 0 when off. Went back to 20 after cleaning filters but today we’re back at 30. FC 9 CC 0 TA 80 PH 7.8 CYA 80 SALT 3400 Water is crystal clear other than pine...

    Bad O Ring/ High Pressure

Our cartridge filter is leaking. A new o ring has been ordered. Is it normal for pressure to be high as a result? I cleaned the cartridges yesterday and the pressure hasn’t dropped. The new o ring won’t arrive until tomorrow.

    Circupool regret?

This is genius. I think this is what we will do.

    Circupool regret?

Thank you everyone for your replies! I feel better about our choice. Someone mentioned keeping the controller weather protected. What’s the best way to do that? Create housing for the swg?

    Circupool regret?

We recently purchased a CircuPool RJ 60Plus. The plan is to install it after we get some electrical work done. Today we had a pool remodel company out for an estimate and we mentioned that we’re going to salt. He says we should absolutely be going with Hayward goldline and hoped that we could...

    First time opening pool

Now I’m thinking we may need to do more SLAMing. Although I can see the bottom, it’s still a little more cloudy.

    First time opening pool

I think our SLAM is complete. Hardly any overnight chlorine loss. I can see the bottom of the deep end. I’m waiting for the chemicals to arrive to adjust the calcium. Now should I adjust CYA? What’s the next step? Our SWG will be installed in a few weeks. Today: FC 9 (still dropping from SLAM)...

    First time opening pool

If the PH is still high...will the water still clear up to indicate that the SLAM is done? Does a high PH cause cloudy water? Here’s today’s pic.

Also do you recommend staying away from clarifiers and algaecides? It looks like the algae left some staining. What should I use for that?

    First time opening pool

I just added more chlorine. I’ll check the numbers later. The acid was lowering the TA, right? Should I add the baking soda?
  27. C

    First time opening pool

Yes, definitely using pool math. TA is 40.

    First time opening pool

So FC was at 6 yesterday so I added muriatic acid. PH tested at 7.6 later in the day. I also added chlorine (not at the same time) and FC was 8 when I tested. This morning PH is 8 and FC is 6. Is that normal for PH is rise again so quickly? I just want to keep SLAMing!
