    Which weir door?

Please delete this thread. I found the model number of the skimmer (SP1070B) and was able to find the weir door.

    Which weir door?

I was told that I should replace my missing weir door, how do I know which one I need? I looked online and there are tons of them.

    Starting to look better...but.

I lost this battle, the algae is hiding in places that I can't get to. At this point I am just maintaining the FC at 6-7ppm, which means adding about 48oz of LC everyday, because it drops to 0 FC overnight.

Looking for opinions on these 2 items

I have been looking into upgrading my equipment, but was going to do it in steps as I could afford it. I decided to do the pump first as I had a little extra cash. I started putting out feelers to get quotes, one of the quotes was very interesting. He said that he could do both and stay in my...

To De or not to De?

My current pump is not strong enough to run my new suction side vac. So if I get a bigger VS I could set it at a lower rpm for daily running, then pump it up to run the vac? Does it allow you to set it from the phone?

To De or not to De?

The time is coming soon that I am going to pull the trigger on the new pump, I will be buying it the first week in July. PAP is having a 15% off sale on pumps right now, but it only lasts until tomorrow. I might be able to scrape the money together to get it by tomorrow, but still not sure what...

    I messed something up...help!!!

Next I gotta figure out why my suction went down. I bought this vacuum about a month ago, I did the suction test the day I bought it and the suction was good enough to run it. Now after having my pumbing redone and SLAM'in for 2 weeks, I have lost suction.

    I messed something up...help!!!

I was not getting enough suction on the vacuum, so I decided to check the impeller, now the pump is not working correctly. Asking here before I call someone.

Does PAP sell the same liquid that would be in the R-0871 for the FAS-DPD test? I ran out today, I ordered some a couple days ago but won't be here until Friday. Did not want to stop SLAM. Might have to just guess at the FC and add whatever LC I think it needs. ***Even though USPS said that it...

Annnnnndddd the saga continues...you wont believe what I forgot to do. I was sooo concentrated on testing and adjusting, and battling this algae, that I forgot the basics. Take a peek.

    Starting to look better...but.

It seems like the more I do, the worse it gets. Somehow I lost 13ppm while I was at work today. That's the most I have lost in a single day. After pressure washing every crack in the pool...smh

I am sure that I took off a layer of cement in some places, to make sure there was no algae present.

A couple more videos of what I found. Its in 2 parts because the video would just stop on me by itself when I went underwater.

    Retrieving the sample

Does anyone use any kind of tool to help you retrieve the water sample? from what I have read, I am supposed to retrieve the sample from about 17" below the surface. this requires me to get down on all 4 to do it. I am getting older and this is rough on the knees and sometimes hard to get back...

    Starting to look better...but.

"Enough is enough...I have had it with this algae in this pool. Everybody strap in, I am about to break out the big toys" Sorry, that's my best Samuel L Jackson impression. This algae is making me mad, there are cracks and crevices in these rocks that I can't get to with even a toothbrush and...

    Starting to look better...but.

I almost forgot one. I took a video of some of the algae that was hiding, in plain sight, on the steps. I have a question in this video "When I am scrubbing, should I be trying to get every spot of green off? Or just trying to break that protective layer, so the chlorine can kill it?"

    Starting to look better...but.

OK, finally got around to shooting those videos. Made a couple new discoveries. Been scrubbing for about 2 hours now. 1 of the videos give you a look at the drain, light cavity and the looped pipes. Yes, I was crazy enough to take my phone underwater. Without further ado, here they are: My...

    Starting to look better...but.

I don't think that pipe is the problem. I verified that it is just a loop. I hooked my vacuum line to one end and sucked a lightweight string through it. Then pulled something heavier through it. Then I tied a microfiber cloth on to the heavier string and pulled it through. That pipe is clean...

    Starting to look better...but.

Is there any scenario where just regular maintenance level eventually kills the algae, even if it takes years? I am not giving up, I am still waiting on my package from amazon today. However, I believe that I am fighting a losing battle, with no way to win until I can get this pool fixed. The...

    Starting to look better...but.

I end up claening mine like once a month in the past and the filters don't even last a year. My plans are to buy a new filter soon. Afetr the advice I got on here, I am going to stick with a cartridge filter, just go with a bigger one.

Do those really work? When I was doing my research, there was conflicting reviews, but everyone agreed that a cheap high pressure nozzle always worked. I wasted my money on this thing. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B002WKOAG6/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1 Check out my...

It does not connect to nothing, no return or suction from it. It seems to be 1 "U" shaped pipe. Something like this, when I shot the water in 1 end, it came out of the other. With a green puff.
