    pH issue

Ok great. I wasn't sure what was 'normal' since this is my first summer using the TFP method. I will just keep an eye on my pH and keep adjusting.

    pH issue

Ok thanks! I will adjust that then. I probably have too much aeration going on from the spa waterfall.

    pH issue

My pH and TA seem to keep rising which i suspect is because my fill water is trash. Should i target my TA lower, like 60? Or will it level itself out if i just keep doing what I'm doing? We did a full drain in March so this is pretty fresh water. I already added MA twice this week because my pH...

    algae

FC - 5 pH - 8 TA - 140 CH - 425 CYA - 40 I just noticed some algae today in my spa that's attached to my pool. It's hottttt in AZ and I guess i let the FC drop too low (still on a learning curve). I've got a lot of trees near my pool so unfortunately lots of leaves and debris. I know my TA and...

calcium build up along water line tried everything

Pay to have it blasted. I had embarrassingly bad build up on my pool and spent...way too long trying to get it off myself. Sooo happy i had it blasted worth the $$ it looks brand new.

help with testing water for the first time

I just tried the FC test again same results. I did put a gallon of 10% liquid chlorine in 2 days ago but previous to that i wasn't really doing much i didn't have any floats or anything. I guess that was too much. It does smell of chlorine. I guess we'll just drain ASAP. How do i figure how much...

help with testing water for the first time

pH - 7.6 TA - 180 CYA - did this test 3 times appears to be over 100. Free and combined chlorine - I can't seem to get this test to work. It turned dark pink and then never gets any lighter. I did add some liquid chlorine about 2 days ago but nothing since. CH - I repeated this test and it was...

help with testing water for the first time

I'm having some trouble testing my water for the first time. I'm using the k2006c My CH is really high, 1500. This seems right because i have extreme calcium build up, and I'm in AZ so this is a regular problem. I can't get the FAS-DPD free chlorine test to work. I did it twice with the same...

Spa draining when pump shuts off for the day

My spa does this too I always thought it was just the way it was designed, to drain back into the pool once the pump shut off.

'start up chemicals' how to maintain after?

Ok I can do that. In AZ they tell you to drain every 2 years and we're at the 2 year point again. I've contacted 3 companies about sand blasting/bead blasting and they're all telling me the calcium build up is 'too severe' and the tile needs to be replaced. We lost 3 tiles already and is suspect...

'start up chemicals' how to maintain after?

My 14 year-old-ish pool has been a bit neglected, both by us and the previous owners, and needs a facelift, which includes new tile work due to severe calcium build up (major hard water issues in AZ). We've always just taken water samples to the pool store and did whatever they told us to do...
