    Trouble dialing in SWG

I plan on adding what CYA I have on hand, I’m sure I’ll need more, once my vacuum is finished.

    Trouble dialing in SWG

Thank you! I thought you were saying that the swg works independently depending on CYA but you have to adjust it manually ??‍♀️ My FC is at 2.5 being set at 25% for 10h, it’s only been on about 6h though. Am I correct in thinking that once I get it dialed in that it will keep about the same FC...

    Trouble dialing in SWG

I think I got pool math linked. I turned off The swg for 24h and set it at 25% for 10h so we’ll see how that does. I plan on adding CYA tomorrow. Thanks.

    Trouble dialing in SWG

How does the CYA determine how hard the swg works?

    Trouble dialing in SWG

We used liquid chlorine the first 2 years we had the pool and added the swg this season.

    Trouble dialing in SWG

I am not sure how to link pool math but my most recent results with TF-100 are: FC-6 CC-0 CYA-40 PH-7.7 TA-100 CA-50 I had CYA at 60 but we have gotten a ton of rain and I’m guessing that’s why it dropped. Pool is 74 degrees and is in full sun all day.

    Trouble dialing in SWG

I am posting a pic of what pool math is telling me but my FC is at 6. I initially set it at 62.5 but FC was 8 so I lowered it again. Going to try 12.5% at 14h. Just curious what the optimal run time and SWG% would be for me and why the pool math app isn’t correct? My goal is 3 FC. Thanks.

    SLAM with no CYA?

They told me it was ? glad I don’t have a pH issue though, thanks!

    SLAM with no CYA?

Anyone know why these would be different? I just realized the kit said to use R-0014 so I used it and got 7.4. I think I bought it at Leslie’s last year because I ran out. R-0014 looks lighter.

    SLAM with no CYA?

Thank you! I saw Leslie’s has Natural Chemistry instant conditioner, is that ok to use?

    SLAM with no CYA?

We opened to a green pool yesterday after using a mesh cover for the first time. I have not been able to find CYA and could only find a few gallons of 6% bleach but am going to try again today. I have a new SWG to add but know I need to get water balanced first. I’m just now starting pump due to...

    Help replacing/adding equipment

I don’t think so but I got confirmation from someone at inyo pools that my filter and the pump I chose (1.5hp single speed) were compatible since they’re sold together. He said typically that is the case that you don’t want your pump gpm higher than filter gpm but sand filters are different ??‍♀️

    Help replacing/adding equipment

Am I missing something? My filter says 34gpm and all the pumps I am seeing have higher gpm, I thought it was suppose to be lower?

    Help replacing/adding equipment

Do you have a 2 speed pump? How does that work when calculating pump run time for circulating the whole pool volume and for running the swg? If we were to do what you do, we would just hook up the swg to timer and leave pump on low correct? I’ll wait to test before ordering the salt, I got the...

    Help replacing/adding equipment

Hey guys, I have a few more questions. We have decided to just replace the pump and my husband wants to go with a single speed 1.5hp. We have pretty much decided on the circupool edge-25 swg. I have a robot vac so don’t typically manual vac. We are also looking at adding the Pentair...

So I’m assuming the black thing on the left is the capacitor?

    Help replacing/adding equipment

It’s not spinning on its own, just manually.

I have not, not really sure how to do that.

Any recommendations on a pump (if needed), swg, and underwater light?

    Help replacing/adding equipment

I don’t see any mention of a capacitor in the manual nor do we see one. As I mentioned, we tried to spin to shaft to start it and that didn’t work, it just hums. Looks like I’ll have to have someone come check it out, I don’t know enough about pumps to diy. Thanks.

    Help replacing/adding equipment

We did take the cap off and it was a while ago but I believe it was just the shaft visible. Is a new motor significantly cheaper than a new pump? If so, is it difficult to switch out? My husbands thoughts are that if the motor is badC the rest of it probably is too, is that correct? Thanks.

    Help replacing/adding equipment

I think my husband determined it did not have a capacitor but I will snap a pic. We want to spend the least amount as possible and the least complicated as possible. The light we had that went out, you had to turn on and off from the switch at the equipment pad and I don’t really like that, just...

ETA: I looked at the Hayward aqua-trol but it’s only for 18k and the aquarite but realized it’s for inground.

    Help replacing/adding equipment

Last year when I closed the pool the pump quit working. It would just hum when I flipped the switch on. I tried to jump start it with a screw driver to see if it would spin but that didn’t work so we are thinking we need a new pump. Any other ideas? I was going to have someone come out to check...

Is SLAM always required when opening?

Ok thank you, my 4yo will be thrilled! Do I need to add more CYA if it is at 30? I dosed it to 30ppm and planning to test tonight as it is almost dissolved.

Last night I brought FC up to 6 and these were my results this morning: FC-5.5 CC-maybe 0.5 pH-7.2 TA-70, maybe 80

Is SLAM always required when opening?

I did the OCLT and couldn’t get a sample until pool had been in sun for about 2.5 hours. I think I calculated wrong last night because I left CYA at 0 on calculator so only dosed FC to 2. My numbers this morning were: FC 1 CC 0 pH-7.0 TA-40 I have added baking soda to bring TA to 60, CYA to...
