What's your Pentair IntelliCenter/IntelliTouch/Easy Touch schedule look like?

Thanks for the quick reply Jim. Yes I agree that I will need to setup my schedule to meet my goals, and that your schedule (or anyone else's most likely) won't do that exactly. I'm just looking for examples so I can see what various users have done mostly for reference, and also to see if...

What's your Pentair IntelliCenter/IntelliTouch/Easy Touch schedule look like?

Hey Everyone, I'm basically just about done setting up my IntelliCenter with all the associated equipment. I believe I have a decent idea on setting up the circuits and features, so now I'm ready to start getting schedules programmed into the IntelliCenter. I'd like to see examples of...

    Pool Equipment Questions

Thanks for the note on the SWG. I had an old sand filter with a multi-port valve for a few years before this equipment upgrade and really the only thing I ever used on it was the backwash. So with the new Quad DE filter I'm figuring the only thing I would ever want might be the backwash...

    Pool Equipment Questions

Just want to see if anyone has any input on putting the salt cell in the equipment room. And any take on what the benefits/drawbacks are for putting a plunger type backwash valve on the Quad DE filter. Thanks

    Pool Equipment Questions

Yes, I'm talking about a plunger type backwash valve, not a multi port valve. I already have the filter so that is what I'll be using. I just thought it might be good to have a backwash valve to back wash one or twice a season, or before a teardown to clean the cartridges.

    Pentair IntelliCenter Review and Information

Excellent write-up. I am considering the IntelliCenter for my automation system that I want to install in the Spring. I see you have the 5 relay board. And it looks like you are using 4 of them. What are you using them for? Do you plan to use the fifth relay? Do you wish you would have the 8...

    Pentair IntelliCenter

Ok, so I'm considering getting the IntelliCenter in the near future for my automation system. I was going to get the ET8 for pool and spa, and add on the SceenLogic2 to program it from my laptop, but it is tempting to go with the newest technology. My question is will I be able to setup and...

    Pool automation / swg

I'm in the same boat. Looking to get an automation system for the spring. I was planning on getting the Easy Touch 8 Function 8SC-IC60 w/ Salt Cell and a wireless ScreenLogic 2 kit. That would be around $2200. Trying to decide if the $400 premium to go to the IntelliCenter would be worth it. I...

INPUT NEEDED - Extreme Pool Makeover (With Questions)

Thanks for the reply Mark. That is some good info. I'm not set on 12 jets, but it just seems like a good amount. I see lots of builds in the 6-8 jets, and then I see builds with 12, 18 or more. There doesn't seem to be a lot of info on spa design in general. I've seen where people say choose...

INPUT NEEDED - Extreme Pool Makeover (With Questions)

This is what I am planning for regarding equipment... - Pentair EasyTouch with Intellichlor IC60 Cell? - Pentair 011018 IntelliFlo Variable Speed 3HP Pool Pump - Pentair Quad Cartridge/DE Filter 100 (probably with Backwash or HiFlow MultiPort Valve) - 400k BTU Raypak Heater(Rheem) I'm open...

INPUT NEEDED - Extreme Pool Makeover (With Questions)

Jim, Yeah it's more or less started. I'll end up doing a good amount of the work with my general contractor who does a lot of stone/concrete work and did pools years ago. I'm still trying to figure out what I'll have done by one of the other PB's. Mark, To make sure all is clear, especially...

INPUT NEEDED - Extreme Pool Makeover (With Questions)

I'm getting closer to starting this project full on. I've figured out my pool is actually about 32k-35k gallons instead of what I originally thought. And I've tweaked the layout diagrams one more time. See attached. If anyone has any more input, please feel free to comment. Thanks.

INPUT NEEDED - Extreme Pool Makeover (With Questions)

Jim, Thanks again for your reply. I will see what I can do about adding more returns. It would be nice of this was a new build as I would easily add several returns. But with it being a remodel, it quite a bit harder. Plus, isn't there a concern with having too many returns in relation to the...

    Question on tile and plaster

Yes and no. It's a 1960's poured concrete shell pool, which may of had a light skim coat of plaster at some time but probably most of it is long gone. It's been painted several times over the years from what I can tell. But it basically seems like a few layers of paint, which is flaking in many...

    Question on tile and plaster

I think maybe I wasn't clear, especially since what I have going on probably isn't common. There really is no plaster on the pool, but there is a 6" waterline of 6"x6" tile which sticks out past the pool shell by essentially the thickness of the tile and thinset. I'm have the tile replaced this...

    Question on tile and plaster

Just a quick question. I have a 50 yr old poured concrete pool that is basically painted over the concrete. I'm planning on having the waterline tile and coping replaced this year. I was planning on having the pool plastered with quartz next year once the budget allows. Will waiting till next...

INPUT NEEDED - Extreme Pool Makeover (With Questions)

Hey Jim, Thanks for the reply. I agree, I don't plan to use the spillover feature all the time. But to show it off will be nice. The check valve near the pump is supposed to be to prevent the raised spa from draining back to the pool. But I guess it shouldn't do so that. It was something I saw...

INPUT NEEDED - Extreme Pool Makeover (With Questions)

Jim, Thanks for the reply and I do appreciate your input. Yeah, it's a long post but I wanted to include all the details. I understand that I'll need to stick with one brand for the automation, pump and SWG. I'm leaning towards Pentair, but open to reccomendations for other options. I could...

    New Pool Owner with Questions

Hello everyone, I'm new to the forum and have a few questions about re-opening our pool. The pool is a large, rectangular, poured concrete inground pool with what looks like a thin layer of plaster on the concrete and several various layers of paint over it. I believe it was built in the late...
