    air bubbles on pool surfaces.

Unfortunately I have made many changes to my system this year so it is difficult for me to know what resulted from what but.... I have been noticing zillions of tiny air bubbles on the pool walls, and bottom, even the steps. these are nowhere near the returns and I doubt that they are from the...

    Replacement Breaker for Equipment pad

box on right is fed from main panel in basement on a 20 amp DP breaker 240 v. Pretty sure the wires are 12 gauge, definitely not 14 but too flexible to be 10. (there is also a separate 120 line in the conduit that leaves the box on the right and feeds a separate box for the light), 240 feeds...

Pentair Mastertemp 400 E05 error after other stuff.

My 3rd season with the Mastertemp 400 started with a major problem. I went trough the troubleshooting guide but tried not to tear the whole thing down to make a simple fix. The guide suggested my problem was the control board. But I noticed the price of the board and decided to do some further...

    Pentair Superflow lid question

So I bit the bullet and bought a new pump (Pentair Superflo) When I opened the box, I was surprised I couldn't open the basket lid. It is a press on, with a quarter turn clamping ring. I had to hit the Ring with a Hammer/block of wood to get it off. Then when I went to put it back on I can only...

Pump leaks after go kit installed

I have a Sta-Rite Maxi Glass PE type I'm on the 3rd Motor. Second Go kit and several lid gaskets under my belt. This year the pump was leaking pretty bad (multiple drips per second, but not a spray). The leak was coming from under the pump housing where the band clamp is. It was also losing...

Can I filter a pool that is not full?

My water level is below the skimmer and vacuum inlets. I have my valves set to only draw from the main drain. Assuming there are no leaks that would cause the pump to suck air in, can my filter run with the level this low? I know that's not the recommended situation, but I am wondering if it...

I read the rules and I think my post won't violate them, if the moderators disagree I apologize in advance. It's funny I seldom come to this site now, but when I first started with a used pool at the house we bought I was here several times a day. I just opened my pool and knock on wood, everything looks pretty good. I just wanted to say thanks again to TFP, and all the people in these forums who...

    Electrical Question

Thanks for all the information and Help. I have it all worked out and working now. Just to clarify there were 2 lines coming in, a 220 and a separate 120 from the Main. I had not planned to tap the 220 for a 120 leg, I was just asking if my logic was correct, that the 220 Which doesn't use a...

    Electrical Question

The wire coming from the house is 12 gauge. I couldn't see any marking on the wires as to THWN or not, but I assUme wiring was to 1976-1978 code but no better. I broke down and bought the Square D Pool/Hot Tub subpanel with 50 amp GFCI breakers (btw the 220v - 12 gauge line from the house comes...

    Backwashing my sand filter

Just a thought but, Whenever I troubleshoot any kind of problem, I always suspect the problem is associated with the "Last thing done" before looking for new causes. Make sure your rebuild of the Multiport didn't result in this problem.

    Pentair Master Temp vent cover.

I purchased a used 6mo old Heater which was installed indoors. I will be using the heater outdoors. I can easily remove the vent, but I will need to put a Vent cover on, that the previous owner did not have. The price for the part is outrageous - around $70. I am considering making one from...

Teledyne Laars Series 2, 3rd Thermopile in 2 seasons ??

took readings today and found that I only had 33 mV after holding the pilot for several minutes, it slowly kept climbing .1 every few seconds but clearly not acceptable. I ordered a new thermopile, and will install it next week. At that time I will again check the orifice, and the position of it...
