Question about pressure, backflow, and solar bypass/return

Reporting back: the solar is running great with 100% of the water from the filter/pump being diverted to the solar. Thanks to everyone who offered tips!

Question about pressure, backflow, and solar bypass/return

Great, this is incredibly helpful. I will try running with the three way valve closed so that it diverts all the water to the solar.

Question about pressure, backflow, and solar bypass/return

So if I close off the three way bypass valve, such that 100% of the water from the 2500gph pump gets routed through the solar, it wont create too much pressure on the pump and/or solar panels?

Question about pressure, backflow, and solar bypass/return

Not that I am aware of. This is the pump/filter I have: https://www.amazon.com/Intex-28633EG-Krystal-Cartridge-110-120V/dp/B005QIYMNM/ref=sr_1_1?dchild=1&keywords=2500gph+intex&qid=1589478379&sr=8-1

Question about pressure, backflow, and solar bypass/return

I have no way of testing PSI on my current system. What is the best way to accomplish that? Interesting, that's a good point that I was not aware of. Yeah this was something I realized when I was setting up the solar. The differential between the intake and outlet temps should only a few...

Question about pressure, backflow, and solar bypass/return

I have already tested the setup with the return line from the solar being manually placed into the pool through the pool cover, instead of routing the line back to the pool return. I was getting sufficient flow and heat at that point in time. So I know that the water pressure going to the panels...

Question about pressure, backflow, and solar bypass/return

Hi all. I recently installed a few solar panels to heat my above ground intex 12'x30" pool. My solar panels lay flat on my deck. I have an intex 2500gph pump that pushes water to a three way valve that I have at full open (all 3 sides open). The right side of the three way valve pushes water to...

Question about how to hook up solar to stock intex 28633EG pump and hoses

Hi all, new to these forums. I recently purchased an Intex Easy Set 12'x30" pool. The stock pump that came with it is trash so I replaced it with an Intex 28633EG. I have the dual inlet/one return setup on my pool. Currently, I have two 1.25" hoses, each hooked up to an inlet port, then combined...
