    Payment schedule?

We are ready to start building and I was wondering what is a typical payment schedule for a company building a pool/spa/grotto?I don't want to put too much money out before work is completed and risk the contractor just taking the money and not completing. I have always built my own pools and...

The grotto is going to be roughly 12' tall so o was thinking it would need to be deeper

How deep for jumping off grotto?

We are building another pool and my designer says we would be ok jumping off our grotto into the deep end only being 7' deep. I was expecting it to be at least feet deep if not 10 or more. What should I go for depth, and is there a way that I can keep most of the pool shallow, under 5 feet, and...

    Beach entry into deep end

Its no more unsafe than a bench in the same spot. My last pool had a second step wet deck that dropped off to the deep end.

    Beach entry into deep end

The pool is going to be roughly 40'x60' so we have multiple entries with steps that meet code. If this was the only set if steps then i would understand her issue with it.

    Beach entry into deep end

We are designing our pool now and we have our main entry on the right side and it will have several large wet decks. On the left side we will have a grotto and deep end. We also want a beach entry, but we want the beach entry into the deep end and only go down to 12" and then drop off. Our...

Looking for photos of huge grottos w/spa and seating areas

We want a huge grotto that is large enough to completely cover an 11x7 spa and have a nice large seating area and fire pit also inside the grotto. I'm sure some of you have seen some amazing pools and can point me in the right direction.

Who else is obsessed with Pool Kings?

I know here in Vegas we have to have engineers go over the pool designs to make sure everything is designed for strength. I imagine the permit process is similar in other areas as well. As far as putting an expensive pool on a cheap house...if you build it, there will be a buyer. We just sold...

    Epic build

Our $100k budget for this will include a 12x20 balcony extension up to the pool with a firepit between the balcony and beach entry as well as a large folding glass door.

    Epic build

Ok, I wasnt sure what the cost would be but I also figured the price would be fairly similar. We spent $40k on the last pool and we have just under $100k for this one.

    Epic build

We are going to be building our next owner builder pool failt soon. Right now we are in the planning phase and hoping to start digging this winter when nobody is thinking about a pool and hopefully keep the prices down. So our current pool is 20x30 and has spa inside that footprint but on our...

Jandy pump, anyone know wrench size? Long drive across town...

I have a Jandy variable speed pump that I suspect needs a new impeller. Unfortunately its across town 45 minutes away at my old house. I want to know have the correct tools so I was hoping somebody might know what size the bolts are, or maybe if you have a Jandy Vs pump you could check to see...

Heater Recommendation But Retain Automation through Jandy

Saving a ton of money purchasing online seems worth it for a Raypak since they hardly ever break and if they do, it's easier and cheaper to fix. Makes the warranty pretty much useless.

    Leak from light pipe

Actually it probably just popped loose and doesn't need any extra conduit. Probably can just glue it and step in it until it dries.

    Jet valves

Looking at it again, I think somebody cranked the handle hard enough to jump the pin over the stopping block. So now it's on the wrong side. The pins should still be in 180 holes, but pull the pins out of the holes, and set the valve so the handle is in line with the stopping block and push the...

    Jet valves

Yes, the pins are stopping points to keep from shutting it completely. He could take the pins out and spin it completely around.

    Leak from light pipe

You could definitely seal it there since its easy to get to, but it won't be fun if you ever have to change the light.

    What in tarnation is this?

If you are comfortable with electrical work, you can also swap the wires from the pool light relay and spa light relay, then test the lights again. If the pool lights start working and the spa lights stop, then you know it's the relay. This is easy and can be done with a screwdriver, no...

    What in tarnation is this?

Its unlikely the electrician messed anything up, they usually know what they are doing. Also you stated the soa light works but both pool lights stopped at the same time. You also mentioned both pool lights on the same relay as each other but on a separate relay fron the spa light. The spa light...
