I just learned - the hard way - all about building a pool!

What religion prevents contractors from working the project?

Permits how would you handle it?

Permits were pulled before construction. But it looks like they did not have the pool ground bond inspected...so they need an engineering letter that they are charging me for to prove the pool was grounded. (I saw the work done). They are also charging me as you can see in the original post...

Permits how would you handle it?

There is nothing in the contract that refers to permits. There is one line in the contract that refers to silt fence installation as required by the County. I paid for this item. I appreciate y'alls opinions... I am gathering information and opinoins before I address this situation with...

Permits how would you handle it?

So my pool and back yard reno are complete (for the most part), ground breaking was January 2018. I have paid the General Contractor for the entire project without hesitation every time funds were requested, and the project is paid in full. I have copies of the original plans submitted to...

Did I get duped? PebbleTec vs. Diamond Brite, is there a difference?

What I do not understand is the glaring difference between the samples of PebbleTec and Diamond Brite for "Tahoe Blue" on thier websites... Look at the original post and the two screenshots of the two products.... Then look at the pics I posted of the pool. The finished pool looks very much...

Did I get duped? PebbleTec vs. Diamond Brite, is there a difference?

The contract says Tahoe Blue PebbleTec. Do you know if the PebbleTec Product uses the stuff on the truck in the photos above labled "diamond brite"?

Did I get duped? PebbleTec vs. Diamond Brite, is there a difference?

Here is a zoomed out photo of the truck....I think we were the only job o the truck. We are happy with the finish, but i would like to know based on the evidence of these photos of I have Pebbletec?? Does Pebbletec use the materials you see in these photos?

Did I get duped? PebbleTec vs. Diamond Brite, is there a difference?

Ignorance and lack of experience/knowledge when it comes to contracting, building and pools is my weak link here. I was quoted and paid for a Tahoe Blue PebbleTec pool finish. The finish went in May 1, and we have been swimming in and enjoying the pool. During this time I have spent...

Excuse my ignorance... yes, saturation from the wiz wheel is what I was referring to. I will have to revisit pool math and learn about CSI. I have been focused on getting some chlorine in the pool and keeping it there...lol What is CSI?? I am so amature

How did you pay for your pool?

Our pool decision was not for reinvestment, but rather quality of life... When I want a good steak, I go buy one and eat it and know that it will end up in the septic system... Same with a pool/back yard reno.... You will enjoy your investment for years... maybe the rest of your life, but you...

    Building in Georgia Drone PICS

Checked CSI today... it was -.3 maybe a bit lower on the wiz wheel... ugggg..... I cant win one battle.... Guide on back of wiz wheel says a saturation of -0.3 or lower could be corrosive... not great.... The wiz wheel has no guidance how to correct this!!!! All based on water temp from the...

Please Help! Need Eyes on our Pool Bids!

Mine was 79K for the pool and the stuff in my signature... Spent another 40k on the deck, sod, landscape, patio, porch, etc etc etc... This is an expensive luxury, but will get years of enjoyment out of it... think about it this way.. people spend more on everyday driver cars....

How did you pay for your pool?

Great question! We started this project completly debt free including having our house paid off, so we took out a 30 year mortgage for 75k at 4.9%, and pay 3.5 x the minimum payment to have it paid off in 5 years (rocket mortgage). That was our budget for the Pool and landscape project...

So the PB has the filter system up and running, but he only has it programed to run for 2 or 3 hours in the morning. This is a bit concerning to me, so I brought it up to him, he said it was fine... I really wish I knew how to operate the equipment so I could have the pump/filter run more hours...

Chatted with the PB today.. he said 10 days is the max amount of time to allow the water to not have circulation. The electrician was out today and will be back tomorrow, and the water will be circulating on monday, which will be 5 days from the fill date. We have been brushing and the kids...

In the market for solar heater... there is no heater on this build.... it is not a money object, but rather a Georgia 100 degrees with 100% humidity issue... I have been researching the forum and found Issac-1's post... This would be a post build solar heater... is it feasible? Plumbing? I am...
