    Easy Touch issues?

So I have a client with a IC40, new installed last August. Was working at opening but now reading low salt. Easy Touch says salt is 2450 when I confirmed via new Taylor salt test its 3200. Second issue is Easy Touch says water is 87 degrees and no demand for heater. The water is 76. Heater...

    Pool Returns`Issue

Try posting a pic of your equipment pad. Have these returns produced normal flow in the past? Is it possible a valve or two has been turned?

Timer for a Dual Speed Pump - Twist Lock Plug

Oh as for the 24/7 while gone, I did that several times for 10,11 day trips, just asked a neighbor to swing by and check the water level and see if equipment was operating.

Timer for a Dual Speed Pump - Twist Lock Plug

HP = horse power. Speed is high/low. No. 2 speed pumps come in various HP. On above ground pools you usually see 1, 1.5, 2, 2.5 HP. I used to have a 2 HP-2 speed and I miss it... lol I ran it on low 24/7 for the 9 years I had it. Went down to a 1.5 HP 2 speed, hated it, lasted 6 years...

Timer for a Dual Speed Pump - Twist Lock Plug

I would just get an adapter to convert the plug into a normal one for use with any timer, or in alternative, leave it on low 24/7 while your gone (the elec would be minimal on low...)

life of a vinyl liner pool

I've never seen a 24x48 inground pool... but it could exist I guess... With the exception of free form, there seem to be standard sizes for rectangles... 16x32 18x36, 20x40.... depths vary... free form pools obviously are different. Guess we'll wait for the OP to respond ;) My pool is 24x52...

Leak at the return but has a light on the return that's not working

This is your part, the new versions have color plates to change the colors if desired. https://www.amazon.com/Pentair-Quasar-Aboveground-Return-Lenses/dp/B007RP3REC This is a horrible product. EVERY SINGLE ONE I have ever seen has leaked and corroded the wall. I had a client who had a wall...

Effects of Low Water Hardness on pool equipment and plumbing??

the water is always flowing through the heater unless a bypass is installed which would then need to be manually turned off. (very unusual). I have not added calcium to my above ground pool and my heater is just fine - I think low pH causes more damage to a heater internals then low CH. I...

New Liner Replacement and Mustard Algae Prevention Prior to the Installation?

That's not mustard algae. It MIGHT be black algae. If the spots were affected by bleach, then by all means, hit it. :) If spots showed up when chlorine level was low, then the chlorine level was too low. I had a similar situation in my above ground pool, and that's what led me to TFP.

Latest and Greatest? Hayward Automation System

Am I the only one that hates it? Why is there no "service" mode, or am I just missing it... 2 of my clients had the same system installed last year, and I hate it. If I just want to turn on the lights, to white? Why can't I do that without going through seven themes of "mardi gras" and...

    Pentair Mastertemp 250 Warranty

Looks like something corroded the inside but maybe its fixable.... Have you always had an SWG? cuz I would suspect low ph as a culprit. You sure the drain plug is set properly? Most heaters have a one-year warranty, 2 at most, and they are predicated on PRISTINE chemistry balance....

    Compupool Panel

Hey all, I have a client whose Lx3810 panel - the button to turn on the pump in service mode has broken and now won't work - and it feels like the button to switch to service mode is going too. solar cover question to keep it in place

Fill 3 or 4 empty chlorine jugs with pool water and throw them on the top of the cover. They won't sink and it holds it in place. Place one for every quarter of cover.

Heater doesn't turn on unless in service mode

I'm not familiar with that unit and the manual not all that helpful. Is there a temp setting that differs for the spa that needs to be adjusted? Maybe the temp is set too low so the heater not firing in spa mode.
