    Possible Plaster Delamination

Thanks, Kim. I appreciate that. Heard back from PB today so we’ll see. Will still try to get them to come out and take a look, especially since the line of white has extended since I took the photos late last summer. Thank you for the reply.

    Possible Plaster Delamination

Hi, folks. Pool is about 18 months old. Approx 6 months ago, I began to see a thin white line appear along one edge of the channel drain. Over time it has stretched further out in both directions and a second similar line has appeared on the other side of the drain recently. I'm wondering if...

Does liquid chlorine have no effect on cya?

Hey, folks. I got a feeling this could be a dumb question, but that never stopped me before. Is it safe to say that if I'm chlorinating with liquid chlorine then there's no reasonable way my cya would go up? Thanks!

    Re-Plumbing the Pool Equipment Pad

Just reading your thread today. I am still green when it comes to a project like yours, but I must say it's clear you put a lot of thought into it, and it looks great. Congrats on tackling and completing a big job like that.

Alternatives to putty fix for plaster

Allen, yes, they put rebar in before the original pour. However, I didn't know enough at that stage of the game to check over their work properly, ensure they had compacted the ground before the pour, etc. I suspect that had I known more of what to look for, I might've had some issues to discuss...

First time adding chlorine bleach --- think i'm doing it right

Texas Splash, this is great info. I'll take your suggestions. Thank you. Yep, I'll be off to HEB at some point later this week to grab some of their stuff. Regards, C

First time adding chlorine bleach --- think i'm doing it right

Hi, all. Today I'll add liquid bleach to the pool for the first time. I plugged in some numbers to the calculator but wasn't exactly sure I was doing that correctly, so just wanted to ask folks here. Here are my current levels: FC = 1 CC = 0 TC = 1 PH = 7.4 CYA = 30 At the moment, I'm...

Alternatives to putty fix for plaster

Yep. It cracked after the original pour, then was repaired, then topped with textured deck coat. Now cracking again. We'll see if PB has a solution.

Alternatives to putty fix for plaster

Yep, that's the only one I have been able to find thus far. So hopefully that's it. And you're probably right about it being rather minor. I'll take that to heart. Any thoughts on the hairline cracks in the deck topping? I'm thinking about filling them with Sika flex. Any ideas there? Thx

Alternatives to putty fix for plaster

Hi, folks. Brand new pool (finished November). Am dealing with several issues from resulting from sub par contractor work. Am wondering if anyone can help. 1) Noticed chip out of plaster recently. It's about the size of a nickel. I know putty works in these types of situations but wanted to be...

What's your pump schedule, and why?

Now got me thinking.... Am considering going to three shorter runs, about 2 hours each. If my frost protection hadn't been kicking in, I'd do it now. Of course I can shut frost protect off, but don't want to take any chances there. Have read some good threads here that make me believe I don't...

What's your pump schedule, and why?

Still figuring it out (build just completed in November), but at the moment have settled here: 12:15 AM to 6:15 AM, 1000 rpm (because frost protection was kicking on there for awhile, those temps have raised again here in central TX) 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM, 1000 rpm Had much higher rpm (2800) to...

Not sure if I should be concerned...

Hi, folks. Pool just finished and filled 3 wks ago. Soon after noticed dark spot on back side. Believe it is damp but hard to tell. Expands and contracts from day to day - not sure why. Waiting to hear from PB. Any ideas? Very close to skimmer, about 18 inches to the right. Thx

Not a suction skimmer? Then what kind of skimmer is it?

Hi, folks. PB told me yesterday that one of the skimmers we have on our new build is "not a suction skimmer". Does this sound normal? I haven't had a chance to talk with PB at length due to holiday tomorrow, but am wondering if anyone is familiar with this. When I put my hand down the skimmer, I...

Polaris 9550 or Dolphin Triton Plus

    Dolphin M500 vs Polaris 9550

Folks who have the the M400 or M500, how do those units do with cleaning up leaves? As I mentioned earlier, I've got several trees in the yard....9 to be exact. The two skimmers will do some good work, and I'll be out there doing a lot as well. In terms of supplementing with a robot, anybody...

    Dolphin M500 vs Polaris 9550

I am in nearly the same position as miles267. I'm torn between the Dolphin Triton (or Triton Plus), the s300i, the m400, or the polaris 9550. I like the tritons, s300i, and polaris for the easy top loader basket each one has. I like the polaris and m400 for the split brushes up front, rather...

Deck showing cracks one day after pour? Suggestions?

Quick update: workers came and opened cracks a bit, them filled them with more cement. They also cut two additional joints. That said, I'm going to request two more joints be cut. For the most part, the fill did the trick, except in a few places where a much thinner -- albeit still visible --...

Deck showing cracks one day after pour? Suggestions?

Thanks, folks. That's all useful information. PB coming out tomorrow to take a look. Says that if a dime can stand upright in the crack, then that's a serious one to deal with, and if no dime will fit, then it's less serious. Also believes from the pics I sent him that these are surface cracks...
