Prologic Panel - Winterize / Cover?

Thinking more about it now, maybe I should build a plywood box (without a bottom) and put it over the Prologic. That way, it protects the panel from the elements, but will not trap moisture and allow air to circulate.

Prologic Panel - Winterize / Cover?

It is on a 4x4 post, in our yard, 6' from fence line, no trees over top or around it. I have a piece of plywood over the top of it right now (temporary until I decide how to make a nicer cover). I don't see any issues with critters, if I cover it, I am concerned about moisture though. I know...

Prologic Panel - Winterize / Cover?

Installed a Hayward Prologic for our above ground pool this year. Now I have the pool winterized, covered, pump and multiport are inside, and sand filter is covered. I removed the display panel from my Prologic panel and brought it inside. I'm wondering if I should cover the panel over the...

Definitive Answer on Winter Cover Pillows?

Is the pillow/floats just for being able to clear the cover off easier? I saw something about the ice expansion and the pillow/floats acting as some sort of buffer?

    Rigid Foam board

My foam does not compress when walking on it, but I made my base solid and put compacted crusher fines underneath. Everything was nice and level before putting the foam down.

Any recommendations for ABG pool base?

I removed the sod, put down geotextile fabric, put down granular 'A' gravel and compacted it, leveled and put down crusher fines on top and packed those. Then, I put the pool walls up and put down 3/4" XPS foam. triple taped all the seams, then put gorilla pad on top. It is nice and soft and...

Definitive Answer on Winter Cover Pillows?

We are in Northern Ontario Canada and trying to close our 21' AGP. We bought a black winter cover (solid, no mesh), with a ratcheting wire mechanism to hold it tight around the wall uprights. Pool is clean and has been at shock level for the last 24-36 hours. Still unsure if we need a...

    Rigid Foam board

I used 3/4" tongue and groove and placed it directly on my gravel base. I think we did 2 layers of tuck tape (vapor barrier tape) and 2 layers of duct tape, something like that. We also did gorilla pad on top of the foam. If I built another pool tomorrow I would 100% do it the exact same way...

Our New 21' AGP Pool in Northern Ontario, Canada

OK, and your pool has about 70% more water than mine, so I guess it makes sense that my FC is pretty high even at 15% and my wife and I swimming at least EOD.

Our New 21' AGP Pool in Northern Ontario, Canada

We have the pump to run (on low) for 8 hours overnight and as of now, I have the T-CELL-15 down to 15% and still measuring FC around 6ppm each night. Not sure if I should turn it up and run pump less, though I do feel like the water is getting a better clean.

    Leveling ground

If the bubble is slightly off, on the same side, every time you measure, you can end up quite about out once you make it all the way around. It can work, but if you want to be sure, water level or transit level are the way to go.

Our New 21' AGP Pool in Northern Ontario, Canada

Thanks for the support! We definetely spent much more time and money than one needs to, but like I keep saying, "do it right, do it once". I've been concerned about the ground moving so I wanted to do whatever I could to try and prevent that.

Our New 21' AGP Pool in Northern Ontario, Canada

I used the foam to make sure the bottom would be nice and smooth, no bumps or anything that may inevitably show through the gorilla pad. I didn't like the idea of using sand in case of weeds, or potential for water to wash it away. I used the gorilla pad on top of the foam as well, just for a...

Our New 21' AGP Pool in Northern Ontario, Canada

I have another post to the right of the equipment pad that was strategically placed in preparation for our deck next year. I might add another outlet to the side of the Prologic, depending what type of cover/shelter I build around or over it, and if I want to pull another permit.

Our New 21' AGP Pool in Northern Ontario, Canada

Thanks, it was a lot of work, but I learned almost everything I needed from here. I have about 90 hours into it, of which 40 was towards the base preparation. A solar reel would work great but I don't think it would be feasible for my wife to move it by herself. That's why we considered...

Our New 21' AGP Pool in Northern Ontario, Canada

Just finished putting up our pool last week. Water is balanced, SWCG is setup, and the water temperature is fine! Started by cutting the sod out last year, putting down geotextile road base fabric, and covering with road base. Compacted it and let it settle over the winter. This year, I...

Length/size of vacuum hose - 21' AGP Round

We just got our pool setup and running, and have a vacuum head and pole, and a Generic Kreepy Krauly. Want to get a single length of hose and not sure if I should buy 1.25" or 1.5", and how long would be best for our size pool? Thanks in advance!

    Output vs Time

T-Cell-15 on a 10400 gallon 21' above ground pool. Calculator says 37% for 8 hours or 100% output for 3 hours. Looking at longevity of the cell, does it matter which way is best? Would rather run pump longer but not sure if that's better or worse for the cell?

    Skimmer Installation with Wall Foam?

To update: Yesterday morning I noticed there were 2 spots along the bottom of the skimmer that had a small but continuous leak. I went and tightened by hand (the screws were not that tight). I noted that the continuous leak stopped but when I pressed pool wall in and out around skimmer, some...

    Skimmer Installation with Wall Foam?

Definetely going to loosen up the screws and see if I can realign gasket without losing too much water (really don't want water down the wall behind the liner). I will check for foam around the threads, thanks.

    Skimmer Installation with Wall Foam?

New 21' steel wall AGP just finished plumbing last night. Foam wall, foam cove, rhino pad, with XPS foam base. Yesterday I installed the skimmer by cutting from the outside, through the liner in the skimmer opening and return jet. Skimmer came with butterfly gasket so I put that on (over...

New 10k gallon AGP with SWCG

Ok, thanks for info. So it sounds like liquid chlorine and salt initially, then CYA, then CYA/FC. Can pH, TA, and CH be adjusted while the above is going on, or should it be once the above is balanced and SWCG is turned on? Thanks

New 10k gallon AGP with SWCG

Just finished putting up our new 21' AGP and filling with about 10k gallons of water (still need to cut in return and skimmer after work today). Been reading a lot but not entirely sure how to start balancing the water. I believe I need to add the salt first, let it dissolve over 24 hours with...

Reducer bushing for SWG ok to use?

Hard plumbing my equipment and the Hayward T-Cell-15 and the flow switch tee are 2". My plumbing will be 1.5". Is it ok to use this type of bushing to go from 1.5" to 2" before the SWG cell and then again after the SWG and flow switch? I wanted to get this type, but I cannot get locally and...

    Foam board base installation procedure

I was thinking of getting some sand to put a layer down first. I was thinking to put the Gorilla pad on top of the foam so there would be even less chance of feeling the seams. Besides wrinkle removal, I wonder if there's more reason to put it underneath the foam.

My yard is flat, flat, flat. No where to drain water except for 200' away. I trencher all the way around my 21' pool base, and installed weeping tile starting at 12" down and gradually sloping around either side of the pool to the far side, connected the pipe and extended another piece 15'...
