Dog and dirt in the pool

I have used the $20 vac below (which attaches to a garden hose). I also insert a skimmer sock inside the bag to provide better filtration. I did not expect the vac to last too long, but I have had it almost two years. (I save worn out skimmer socks and use those in the vac...then I throw the...

    Pop up head valve? leak

I HIGHLY SUPPORT giving A&A a call. Their web site (aamfg.com) has a way for you to search for installers in your area: On their home page, follow the link in the upper right corner "find a builder". When I started asking for quotes I included a few of their recommended installers and some I...

    Pop up head valve? leak

I ordered the cover off of Amazon but have seen it sold by other vendors. It was around $60. I alway intended to make one and finally gave up the wait. I have to say it was worth it...very sturdy. It does help with the noise level, but I cannot honestly say how much. I started using it the...

    Pop up head valve? leak

I just had my A&A 6-port actuator (water valve) replaced. I was about to replace it with the same version and found out I could have it replaced with their newest model. The new model works much better (and no longer uses acrylic balls). If you are not sure which actuator you have, A&A...

    New Pool in Richmond, TX

We kept our pool heated until almost Thanksgiving last year (400k NG) before the weather finally got to cool to keep up. The infloor system really helps heat the water evenly. We would start the heater now (2/28) except we just finished a renovation and will not be able to use the heater until...

Purchased new Pentair VSP (Model 011028) - Run question

I disconnected my Pentair VS pump from the Intermatic timer so it is always receiving power. The Intermatic still controls the heater and spa blower. (I set it to turn off the heater in the event I forget...I forgot to turn off my heater one January when I turned on the heater while brushing...

1998 Pool renovation underway (1/23/2020 Dallas)

With a variable speed pump running at a higher RPM, the sound is not a distraction. The equipment fence cuts a majority of the noise towards the spa. We almost never use the blower. In fact, it may be 20 years since we last used it, so I cannot offer an opinion on it. (FYI... I had the...
