Jacuzzi Spa 355 temp sensors tripping breaker

Yes thanks - that is exactly right. And the problem is solved. It appeared to be water that had got into the heater. Once the unit dried out, everything was perfect and back into operation. My supposition was that with the hi-limit switch disconnected the heater and thus is did not work. When...

Jacuzzi Spa 355 temp sensors tripping breaker

Within about 5 to 20 secs of turning on the breaker the unit trips the breaker. I removed each pump and sensor 1 at a time and have isolated it to the temperature sensors. With the sensors disconnected all other equipment operates. Any guidance on what to do or replace the sensors? I can see...

Pentair Intellitouch to control heater to get different temperatures

Thanks - what you note is exactly what I have done for the last year. As you note, the downfall is that the heater is available the entire time the pump runs. I only want it to be available for the portion of the day. (ie I had hoped using the second pump feature) Any ideas? Many thanks

Pentair Intellitouch to control heater to get different temperatures

Exactly right, I am looking to create two different schedules. However, I see no way to create a heater schedule that is exactly the issue. On the system today, you set the temperature and the intelliflo calls for heat when the temperature (from the sensor) drops below the set temperature. If...

Pentair Intellitouch to control heater to get different temperatures

Jason Many thanks - I can't remember the technical terms, both heaters were Raypaks and less than 3 years old. the "insides" ceramic tiles/area burnt out. It appears to me that the heater keeps working even when the flow is at or below 15GPM - I have never seen it turn off.

Intellitouch SPA Error; when heater is required

I have a raypak heater connected to the pool. When the pool function requires heat is activates the heater perfectly and everything is fine. In order to establish a second heating cycle at a higher temp, I have connected the SPA function to the heater. When the SPA function calls for heat, I...

Pentair Intellitouch to control heater to get different temperatures

I have an Intellitouch system and want to set two different set of temperatures during the day. The main reason being I do not want the heater (Rayvak) to activate when the pool is in it's normal very low flow mode - I am also using a Intelliflo VF pump so the flow is very low during the day -...

Autopilot and Salt water eating plaster and using acid

Jason - thanks as always and I am sure you are right. It just becomes impossible to disprove anything they say.

Autopilot and Salt water eating plaster and using acid

No - as per my note they never said that - they said the salt water had caused the corrosion - (also noting the pool runs 12 months of the year). I have had an ongoing issue getting the salt water system to stabilize and I also now find that no 'sacrificial' anode had been installed which Raypak...

Autopilot and Salt water eating plaster and using acid

A latest update; I am removing the saltwater system as I have now replaced 2 raypak natural gas heaters over the past 4 years (and raypak have advised me that it was the salt water that corroded the systems)

    Raypak RP2100 - Can't Activate Remote

Pool Clown - holding for at least 8 to 10 secs and even longer - just defaults to Rem OFF. racket - the heater has worked for a year and just changed after a power outage. it is connected to the intellitouch and it is calling for heat according to it. Any other ideas as this is very confusing...

    Autopilot water flow sensitivity

Jason I looked at the manifold but I cannot see if it is open or closed. Excuse my ignorance but I don't know how to test/check this? Thanks

    Autopilot water flow sensitivity

Jason Thanks and that seems to be a good idea - I am trying to look at the manual to see how to test and see that. Any help or can you point me to a url to see that?

    Autopilot water flow sensitivity

I do clean the strainer every week (if you mean the one where the water diverts from the main flow to enter the autopilot) Any other way to do some testing? or check the sensor?

    Autopilot water flow sensitivity

My Autopilot seems to continually complain about the flow level being too low. Is there an optimum flow. I have a pentair variable flow pump and have begin to raise the flow to 50 GPM to get the autopilot to work.

    Pool Domes!

We used our Ameridome all last winter and it truly made swimming most enjoyable and we used the pool many times every week. We found wind to definitely be an issue and in storms we deactivated the dom and allowed it to deflate. Not sure if there is a better answer to the wind issue.

Auto pilot - better to run shorter or adjust power

Is it better to run the Auto Pilot for a shorter period at 100% or a longer period at a lower power? I have the ability to do either as I am using the Intelliflo which runs for most of the day.

Pentair Intelliflo VF Pump Priming Error

I read another report which indicated that the priming pressure may be critical if you prime with too high a pressure (seems counter intuitive) but I have tried by dropping the pressure and not sure it has imprived too much.

Pentair Intelliflo VF Pump Priming Error

Autopilot and Salt water eating plaster and using acid

CYA low - TA looks good Thanks to all for comments. I am using the Taylor 8 piece testing kit so while it does test for TA etc, it does not test CYA. I used a strip tester for that and it appears to be very low. PH is 7.4. TA is 80. FC is normally around 3 although I note today it is almost 1...

Autopilot and Salt water eating plaster and using acid

I have had the following problem for 4 months. PH is dificult to maintain and the pool (15k) uses 3/4 of a gallon of acid a week (even in winter). Initially the plaster had a tremendous amount of scale from high PH as the use of PH caught the pool company off guard. The company emptied the pool...

Pentair Intelliflo VF Pump Priming Error

Does anyone have experience of priming errors with this pump. Even though the pump is fully primed and there is no air in the system, the pump (multiple times a day) reports a priming error. There are no leaks in the pool and the filter is clean - it appears (lthough this may just be total...

Intellitouch - Heat Pump preferred settings

Does anyone know how the heat pump preferred setting on the Intellitouch system works? The manuals give no explanation and I have spoke to a Pentair tech twice in the past week and he was adamant that the Intellitouch systems decides which is most effective (ie the heat pump or the gas heater) -...
