DE on bottom of tank and not on filters

Pressure is still 7lb low when on high from where it used to be. As slight as it may be, it looks like I am still getting some DE returned to the pool. I do not winterize the pool in my climate so pump was still running 2-3 days a week. Here are my measurements as of this morning though: FC -...

DE on bottom of tank and not on filters

It is back together. I’m pushing the DE around to try and get it pulled back into the filter but also have my robot vac running to help expedite the process. So right now the water is cloudy and hard to tell if it’s staying out of the returns or not.

DE on bottom of tank and not on filters

Didn’t even notice it says 6lbs...I’ve just been following the DE box. Not sure how much of the 9lbs I have in there now since a good bit is spread around the bottom of the pool, but should I rinse and start over?

DE on bottom of tank and not on filters

Thank you for the info. I saw that the plastic part of the mesh had inner threads but didn’t see anything to screw it down onto, but I guess it was meant to just be a friction fit on that center pipe. It is now slid down on the center pipe. Both old and new boxes of DE media I have say for a...

DE on bottom of tank and not on filters

Jim, Thanks for the info on this one. True as it may be I’m still curious as to what caused my drop in pressure even before I opened the lid if that’s not it... I have it set to Fi I do not have a sock on the center pipe nor do recall one the previous two times I opened the filter housing...

DE on bottom of tank and not on filters

Short synopsis: - noticed 7lb drop in filter pressure with no change in media - had a couple instances of alerts on my SWG for low flow - opened and cleaned filters then recharged with 9lb of DE slurry but pressure still low from norm. - DE repeatedly deposited on bottom of pool after cleaning...

    Water bug Infestation

Kim - sorry to hear this happened to you too but comforting that I wasn’t the only one to experience this oddity! Just glad it didn’t happen during the swim season.

    Water bug Infestation

There is a lake a couple miles from us and a creek bed right behind the fence that only fills up when it rains. Same runs next to the community pool also so still curious why they chose mine. Either way, I will keep an eye on it for the next few days, but vast majority has been killed with a...

    Water bug Infestation

Only had the pool for a little over a year, but haven’t had a swarm before. Usually it’s just a dozen or two that I take out with the net every once in a while. Just odd indeed as the community pool is within earshot of ours and don’t see any in there.

    Water bug Infestation

I failed to take a picture as it was dark, but when I first found them they were cling to the walls of the pool and swimming around under the surface. I was surprised that so many eventually ended up in the skimmers also, but I did corral a decent amount into there with my net. I also did dump...

    Water bug Infestation

I recently went on a week long vacation and came back to clumps of black under the water. Upon closer inspection, I realized the clumps were dozens maybe hundreds of . I did a quick Google of what could cause the mass infestation and most of what I saw was algae related. I made sure to check...

    Pentair IntelliCenter Review and Information

Requested this from support over a year ago for the ScreenLogic App and they haven’t pushed any updates since then. Frustrating to see development just cease on a product that is still used by the majority of their customers ☹️

Cyclic Battle with High pH and Low TA

Thanks for the observations on your pool. Sounds like my problem may be related to trying to correct down to 7.2 in an attempt to prolong the next required dosage...may have been shooting myself in the foot.

Cyclic Battle with High pH and Low TA

Thanks for the suggestions guys. This is my first pool so I tried to keep the measurements within the TFP recommendations. So taking what you guys said into account, when I know I’m going to run the water features, which is usually every time we use the pool, are there any tips or suggestions...

Cyclic Battle with High pH and Low TA

My pool is almost 9 months old and now that it’s swim season again I’m fighting to keep my pH low and my TA high. I’ve searched online and it mostly seems to deal with pools that have high pH and TA or low pH and low TA. My pool seems to like to sit higher in the pH, between 7.5-7.8, and...

Stamped Concrete Overlay/Other Ideas on RBB Exterior

In our previous home we had stained concrete floors that I kept up with the sealant every 2-3 years, but think that was probably due to foot traffic for the most part. Of course with it outside you have the wear and tear from the elements so might not be any different...especially from UV of...

Stamped Concrete Overlay/Other Ideas on RBB Exterior

Sure we could do a stucco or even the “cool deck” coating that the PB planned to do, but with the two large patios on the backside I think doing something with more visual character would be a nice touch.

Stamped Concrete Overlay/Other Ideas on RBB Exterior

Thanks for the reply! I didn’t know it could bend like that with the thin plastic veneer. My thought was to do vertical runs so you only have 6” or less width to allow a nice smooth curve. But yeah stone and tile were pretty much crossed off the list for budgetary reasons. I need to have...

Stamped Concrete Overlay/Other Ideas on RBB Exterior

I have a negatively sloped yard that gives me an interesting design consideration for the exposed exterior of the raised bond beam. Initially the PB was going to just spray the same textured deck coating on this surface, but I will have a couple patios around this backside of the pool so I...

Features on a budget - IG build in Central Texas

While walking around the local big box store these palms caught my eye! I don't like most of the palms here because they have some sort thorn or pointy tip foliage, but these "Bottle" palms are soft and smooth. Now I just need to figure out where they should go. I moved the three best ones...

Thank you Kim! Funny thing about that picture that I took of the tile and missing grout was I lined up the shot to get the best view of the colors from the sun...didn't even realize the missing grout while doing it because I was fixated on the tile o_O. Finally noticed it after the pool was...

After a short 2-month swim season this is all the stuff I regularly came across: Standard Boatmen and Back-swimmers: Scorpions seem to love the pool as much as we do...found 1-2 every week: Giant Water Bug (almost 3" long!): Not sure what these little worm looking things are, but hopefully...

Features on a budget - IG build in Central Texas

Five "agonizing" days later :): Found this spot creep up while a tiny puddle dried: Luckily, it came out when they came back to acid rinse and power wash: With fill-up time right around the corner I decided to test the water that would go into it: Looks around 2 on the Chlorine and 7.3...
