    Patio safe ice/snow melt?

I'm facing South and there is a slight pitch. We got 8" yesterday and it's melting quickly after shoveling under the sun today. But with single digits expected tonight and tomorrow, i'd hate for my patio to turn into a skating rink.

    Patio safe ice/snow melt?

This question is for my cold weather pool owners. First winter with our new pool and ideally, we would still like to use our concrete pool patio in the backyard, even during winter. Our entire backyard is fenced in and connected to our house so it is ideal to clear a part of our concrete patio...

Could you explain how this could happen?

Fill the pool before closing or let it be?

So we just finished our new construction this year and had an awesome summer. One issue we had during construction is the water tight line for the pool light broke as everything settled and the concrete was poured. My builder and I came up with another plan to install the light but recommended...

How much salt to add? AquaRite Lights are Flashing.

Sorry. The low salt and check cell lights came back on. I just ran a sample of the water up to the pool store for an independent test and the salt did come back at 2700 ppm.

How much salt to add? AquaRite Lights are Flashing.

Check that. After I cleared the Check cell light, I reset the Instant salt light now reading -3200 and both lights came on blinking.

How much salt to add? AquaRite Lights are Flashing.

Rest it. My average salt reading is 2500 ppm and the instant is showing -3200 ppm. I cleared the "Check Cell" light and now only the "Low salt" light is blinking. When I jumped in this morning, the water was noticeably less saltier.

How much salt to add? AquaRite Lights are Flashing.

So after a hot week and a lot of swimming, yesterday, we added some fresh water to our pool as the water level was lowering to get up to mid skimmer. Today, my new Aquarite ( < 1 month old) was light up Low Salt and Check Cell. I can't imagine the cell is dirty already but can inspect if...

    Appropriate PPM reading AquaRite 900

Will a ppm of 3500-3600 have any adverse affect on the pool equipment? Liner?

    Appropriate PPM reading AquaRite 900

Hi everyone, Finished slamming my pool last week and everything looks good. FC levels are currently coming down to the 4-5 range with my PH at 7.2 and my CYA @ 70. I am trying to get my SWG going to keep me in FC range. Optimum levels for salt are 2700-3400 ppm and my Aquarite is reading...

    First Test Results. No CYA?

Just tested my CYA and it's closer to 40. Not sure how that happened but maybe that's why I'm overshooting my target FC.

    First Test Results. No CYA?

Update: came home from work and tested FC at an 11.5, down from the 14.5 this morning. Added to bring it back up to 12. Came home at 230 and I was down to 8 after a big rain. Added to get back to shock level 12. Tested at 430 and 630 and I held steady at 15 and 15 and then just now at FC 14.5...

    First Test Results. No CYA?

Last night before I went to bed I was at a FC of 13.5 and this morning I was closer to a 14.5. tested for CC and I was at zero. I am going to go home during my lunch break and test again. Ran the pump all night and the pool looked really good this morning, but the lighting wasn't great. We are...

    First Test Results. No CYA?

Update. First test after initial shock. FC 13.5 Initial goal was 12 so I over shot some. I do feel this is a much more accurate reading than my initial as I'm getting more comfortable and dialed in with the TF 100 and Speedstir. A quick thank you to everyone for all of your help so far. My...

    First Test Results. No CYA?

Good to know. It was the only thing available and an option on pool math. Will I be ok using it this time? I can run out and get some muriatic acid tomorrow. Also, when I test during the SLAM, do I need the entire list or just keep an eye on the CYA, PH, and total chlorine?

    First Test Results. No CYA?

Thank you. Purchased both chlorine stabilizer and dry acid to bring my PH down. Using pool math, I added the stabilizer to bring my CYA up to 30 and the dry acid to bring my PH down to 7.2. Then added close to 2 gallons of bleach to bring to shock levels. I'll retest in a few hours and post the...

    First Test Results. No CYA?

I noticed you said a CYA of 30, but the CYA chart suggest a CYA if 80-90 because I have a SW pool and a much higher FC Target. Am I wrong?

    Trouble with new SWG

Would adding salt to the pool be of any benefit? Or would it just do more harm than good?

    Trouble with new SWG

Salt was originally added 10 days ago, when we filled the pool but nothing since then. The 1900 ppm is a reading off of my Aquarite 900 display.

    Trouble with new SWG

Hello everyone, Brand new pool owner here and I have to admit, it is very overwhelming so far. Started the pump...
