    Pleatco filter question

Anybody know the difference between the Pap-150 and Pap-200? They both have the same measurements and the filter I am replacing has both part numbers on the end cap. I'm not sure which one to order. Thanks! Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

    Looking good so far!

I think birds will drop earthworms sometimes and they land in the pool.

    Water level went down?

Where could it be leaking from when the pool is not running and water is below the skimmer?

    Water level went down?

Ok good. I guess I thought that since we had such a wet winter (even a hurricane), that the water level would have risen not gone down. Good to know that evaporation will happen even with the cover on.

    Water level went down?

I just peeked under the cover. It looks like the water level went down a couple inches over the winter. Is this normal?

16x40 Viking Caribbean Build by Sea Breeze OKC.

I have never had to adjust the PH since the pool was installed. It is always 7.5 (yes, I do have a good test kit). It is possible that I am just lucky. I'm sure that is not typical but if you use the BBB method, the products you would need wouldn't cost near as much as what the pool store...

16x40 Viking Caribbean Build by Sea Breeze OKC.

I have a Viking fiberglass pool with a SWG, although I have never used the tabs. We have very little water maintenance to do. The pool is always clear and test numbers are within range every time. In 2 years I doubt we spent much more than $25.00 a season for some salt, stabilizer and bleach...

    Pump is not staying primed

Hello all, Before the hurricane started we shut off the pump and covered the pool equipment (afraid of trees falling on the equipment). The day after the hurricane we went to restart it and it needed to re-prime (it was off for about 36 hours). The pump and the filter had no water in them. We...

    Salt Loss

I'll try using the strips to check the salt. This is the second summer for the cell (and pool). The "inspect cell" light had come on recently but I read in the manual that it comes on automatically after 3 months.

    Salt Loss

I get the reading from the SWCG. We do not have autofill.

    Salt Loss

How much salt loss is normal? I know that is a hard question to answer. The pool is used only about 3 times a week (no kids splashing). Last year I didn't have to add salt at all but this year it seems to be lowering about 100ppm per week and I have to add some.

    Start-up salt reading?

When I uncovered our pool on Saturday the digital salt reading was 3400. I was shocking the pool and didn't turn on the SWG. Now on Wednesday when I turn on the SWG it reads 2400 and won't generate. Is this normal? Was the 3400 reading basically just stored in the memory from last season?

    Ok....I think I'm ready!

Thanks Jason! Started shocking yesterday and it's already looking better. And my sock of stabilizer is hanging by the return.

    Ok....I think I'm ready!

My first test kit #'s: (BTW, I loved using the TF-100!!) TC: 0 PH: 7.0 TA: 80 CH: 100 CYA: 0 The pool water is green. I'm assuming it is algae although we do have A LOT of pollen. Do I shock first before I worry about the other #'s? If so, while shocking do I leave the SWG off?

    Ok....I think I'm ready!

I finally got to start putting it all together. Just a couple questions: What is this blue thing in my skimmer? I'm afraid to break something if I pull it out. Is it threaded? Also, the lid to the skimmer is an ugly shade of yellow now? Will this go back to white once the sun is hitting...

    Ok....I think I'm ready!

This is my first full season with the pool. I got my TF-100 kit and I'm excited to try it out. When the pool was closed in the fall I failed to watch what the crew did. Now I'm hoping I know what goes back where. I'm familiar with the putting the cartridge back in the filter and the baskets...

    Fiberglass Pool install...

Really nice!! It's nerve racking when the shell is swinging so close to the house. When they installed mine, they had to use a crane and lift it over my house. I was scared to death!! Love your patio furniture too!!

Opinions on when to open to avoid pollen season

Thanks guys! Just had a picture in my mind of a "pollen green" coating on the surface of the water. From the limited use we had last year, it seems like the water circulates pretty good and keeps the pool free of floating debris.

Opinions on when to open to avoid pollen season

This will be my first full season with the pool. Pool company winterized it but I plan on opening it myself (they want $300.00 to do it). Should I delay the opening until after pollen season? We get a TON of pollen here!! (South Jersey) THANKS!!

Please help me choose a pool surface type...

Not all fiberglass pools are just white. Below is a pic of the color of mine. It's kind of a blue speckled texture (I believe they called it crystalite). It does have tile on the waterline. Sorry, I don't have a picture of the tile and the pool is covered up for the winter :(

    Leave solar cover on??

This was my first year with the pool so this may be a dumb question. I live at the Jersey Shore and it looks like we are going to get some wind and rain from Hurricane Earl on Friday. Should I leave on my solar cover? or will wind just blow it around and make a mess anyway? I have a lot of...

    Fiberglass Pool manufacturers...Difference in quality?

Viking did not install our pool. I believe they have dealers in different areas that do their installs. Although we LOVE our pool, we didn't love our installer. I wouldn't recommend them. That being said, we are in South Jersey and they don't cover your area. If you contact Viking I'm sure...

    Fiberglass Pool manufacturers...Difference in quality?

I have a Viking fiberglass pool. I've only had it for about a year but it has been problem free. It looks great, no staining, and at the time I got it they threw in the tile for around the top. I chose Viking from a lot of recommendations from people in my area who have them.

    Well Water VS City Water

Peter, I'm not sure what the filter is called. I will take a picture of it after work today and post it. I use it everytime I have to add water and when we initially filled the pool. Never an issue with metals or staining. Maybe it's the filter or maybe I'm just lucky.
