cheap, walmart "easy pour" the reason my pool is so cloudy?

Ive literally been slamming my pool for almost 3 weeks now. The 2nd week, i unknowingly put about 15 gallons of the easy pour great value brand bleach in the pool over the course of a few days. After a day or so i had a bunch of foam on the surface and in the skimmer. Thats when i realized i had...

    Can they swim today?

Can easily see the drain and rest of the floor in the deep end, it's just cloudy. Know I need to lower pH, but I'm out of acid right now

    Can they swim today?

Let my pool run down to about 1ppm on the chlorine while out of town. Came home, with the pump off it was clear, maybe a tiny bit cloudy. Started running the Dolphin and the pump came on, now it's cloudy in the deep end. PH is 8.0, alk is 110, CYA is 40. Can the kids swim without risk of health...

pH was 7.2 but after 2 days of swimming it's 8.0

I use bleach for chlorine . My CYA was somewhere around 10-15, so I added 4 lbs of stabilizer which got it to 45. I'll add the acid. Thanks!

    Getting cloudy

Looking so much better today. Not quite clear but a couple more days and it should be. So,now my question is does this have anything to do with me running the pump too little, or is it because of the high cya and therefore low chlorine that caused this? I'm running the pump 13 hours per day with...

    Getting cloudy

After 1 night of SLAMming, my pool looks WAY better. Problem now is that I ran out of dpd titration last night. I thought I had plenty but was way off. What should I do? Stop slamming until I can get some more?

    Getting cloudy

You were right. Pool store was wrong. Way off. Said 130, but drops say it's at 80 on a cloudy day, so it's likely even lower than that!

Ugh! OK, I'll get some more titrant.

    Getting cloudy

So, after draining and refilling, my cya is still high, at 130 according to the pool store. I'm not sure I can afford the water bill if I drain and refill again! Can I start the SLAM process and just add enough bleach for this much cya?

They're easily moved, liner just seems to be loose in the corner. A couple of corners, actually.

    Getting cloudy

So, yesterday I drained about a foot of water and refilled. It didn't seem to do anything to reduce the CYA level. Today, I drained again. This time, down to where there was about 16" of water left. Now I'm refilling, about 30 minutes in, and notice the liner is wrinkled in one corner. Will...

    Getting cloudy

UGH! CYA is at 120! Partial draining has begun. I would guess I'm gonna have to do a partial drain and refill 2-3 times in order to not remove so much water that the liner starts pulling away. Is that right?

Also, I MIGHT have enough DPD powder to do 2 more tests. How bad will this be if I wait for more to come in, which would probably be next week some time.

    Getting cloudy

So, yesterday I noticed my water was a little cloudy. Today, a little worse. My test shows: FC: 5 Just used last 2 tablets, will be switching to liquid bleach now CC: 0 pH: 7.2 TA: 80 CYA: out of titrant, so I'm not sure CH: 0 pH was at 7.2 yesterday, so I put a box of Borax in, which should...

Decided to go the slow route and use a garden hose and gravity. Should the pump be shut off? Do i need to do anything with the filter?

And what does my filter valve need to be set on when I turn off the skimmer and drain using the main drain? Backwash? Waste?

    Help me out

So, I just tested the CYA outside, and it shows just over 70. I guess the difference is I was checking it inside this morning in a low light situation, vs the test just now outside in the light of day. So I guess i still need to drain some, but not quite as much. Will I have to start SLAMming...

    Help me out

I read that draining a liner pool is tricky because the sides could cave in if you drain too much. So how should I go about draining and refilling? And about how long will draining through the pump take?

    Help me out

The pipes on the backside I know control the jets in the steps, and the jet in the deep end. Not sure what the pipes coming from the pump do, or the pipe on the backside by itself. Maybe that goes to the sewer??? No idea!

    Help me out

Just bought the house, don't know much about drains and filters. I have a Hayward pro series sand filter. The top valve says backwash, rinse, waste, filter, and maybe 1 or 2 other settings. As for main drain, I would assume that's the drain at the bottom of the deep end, or are you talking...

    Help me out

Not gonna spend $50 or so on a pump, so can I just drain and replace a few inches at a time by backwashing and refilling? Pool is 20000 gallons, vinyl liner. If I can do this, how many times would I have to do it to replace the recommended pool calculator amount of 60% water replacement?
