Outside of ABG Pool...what did you put down around it?

Similar to others, we just put down river rock over landscape fabric, specifically 1.5 tons of 1.5" stone, around a 24 ft round pool, in a 2 ft perimeter and used metal landscape edging to contain it. I

Bubbles in pump filter basket - I'm STUMPED - multivalve setting filter vs. recirculate

😊😊 The pump basket cleared itself of all bubles, in filter mode, w 1" EYEBALL, with pump on high speed, in about 6 minutes. Thank so much for your help. Any major mistakes w my plumbing set up? I probably won't bury lines this season? GREG

Bubbles in pump filter basket - I'm STUMPED - multivalve setting filter vs. recirculate

I backwashed yesterday, water looked pretty clean at discharge hose.... No effect on psi readings. Should I stick with the 1" eye?

Bubbles in pump filter basket - I'm STUMPED - multivalve setting filter vs. recirculate

Mas985 - thanks for input. All valves are wide open. This is a simple plumbing set up, with the pump and filter located about 10 feet from the skimmer and return jet location. The 18 psi reading at high speed and 4 psi reading at low speed are the SAME for both the filter and recirculate...

Bubbles in pump filter basket - I'm STUMPED - multivalve setting filter vs. recirculate

Some more info to consider: Bubbles in pump filter basket only appear after I open the lid to clean the pump basket. After putting the lid back on and starting the pump, the bubbles are present. If I run the pump on high speed with the sand filter in filter mode, the bubble remain. If I run...

Bubbles in pump filter basket - I'm STUMPED - multivalve setting filter vs. recirculate

Sure, I will try to get some results. Posted in a day or twk Hi Pat - Thank you for your input; very much appreciated. I will try to get a full set of test results tomorrow. I'm not sure what you mean by "my filter PSI increase." The PSI reading with the pump on low (4psi) and high (18 psi)...

Bubbles in pump filter basket - I'm STUMPED - multivalve setting filter vs. recirculate

Hi Folks - I had a new above ground pool installed about a week ago (see signature for pool/pump/filter specs). Since day one, I have had large bubble(s) in the pump basket in the lid. I run the pump on the low speed setting about 10 hours a day and the pool is crystal clear. Running the pump...

Show off your AGP Deck please!

That is some nice work there. Can your share the material you used for balusters and how they were connected to the top and bottom parts of rail system. I will be embarking on a pool deck project this fall and like the clean look of the black balusters.

New AGP - advice/feedback on equipment, plumbing, electrical plan

Orbitup - thanks for the tip. I think I purchased some fittings from them years ago when hard piping my previous intex. It nice ordering from a place like that where they usually have everything in stock. It seems when ever I got to the big box stores, they are out of 1 or 2 essential items on...

New AGP - advice/feedback on equipment, plumbing, electrical plan

Coveys - thanks for clarifying, very much appreciated. I was aware that typically a 20 amp breaker needs 12 gauge wire. I just wasn't sure if a timer capable of running a 2 speed pump required 12/2 or 12/3. I am going to planning my electrical requirements and working on my permit over the...

New AGP - advice/feedback on equipment, plumbing, electrical plan

Teald204.. Thanks for the great feedback. No issues with deck height as I have a walkout basement so I probably have about 7 foot of clearance to deck joists.

New AGP - advice/feedback on equipment, plumbing, electrical plan

Hi Folks - Stepping up to a Sharkline Matrix 24' round x 54'' high from an Intex 18 x 52" round. Thanks to this site and the great advice offered here, I was successful the last few summers keeping the pool crystal clean with good ol' bleach and my test kit. The matrix pool will be delivered...

What did I do wrong smoking ribs?

Glad your second attempt turned out better. I would politely suggest you purchase a Maverick 2 probe thermometer with the wireless temp display. This allows you to kick back, throw on some football or some tunes and have a few beverages while monitoring your temp with a just a glance at the...

Why did I put it under an oak tree?!?!?!

I believe they make winter mesh covers that allow water to pass through but will still collect debris. That might be easier to handle in terms of getting it on and off as it would be light, and would still prevent the acorns from getting into water. Maybe shake the tree to shorten the time...

How's this AGP setup looking? In the early assembly stage:

Looking great......fyi....the more elbow grease put in is directly proportional to how fantastic the beer will taste poolside! I hear ya on the humidity; tonight is the first night in about 3 weeks that it didn´t feel like I was stepping into a tropical jungle. I admire your persistence working...

pump advice for future above ground

Doogiegh - thanks much for sharing your research; very much appreciated. Just curious, do you know the pump rate of the 1.5 hp at the highest speed ?, and how that compares to max filtration rate? In my research, it seem like the max rate on a lot of two speeds exceeds the filtration rate on...

    Rigid PVC plumbing question

As others have recommended above, I used a combination of flex pvc for last few feet of connections and the rest hard pvc. I liked the ability of the flex pvc to move w the pool sidewalls during active play in pool. Everything above ground w ball valves and threaded unions for easy...

pump advice for future above ground

Thank you both for the replies. Glad to hear that 1 return is sufficient so I don't hv to worry about cutting into pool B4 first use. I guess if I hard pipe w 2" pvc I could experiment w different eyeball sizes to hv some flexibility. Greg

    intex parts available

Hello intex owners - I have pretty much all of the parts to a six year old intex 18´ round x 52¨ ultra frame pool that I have no use for. Rather that haul this stuff out the curb as garbage, I thought I might be able to help some folks and see if anyone needs a part or two that I can supply...

pump advice for future above ground

Hello everyone - so after 6 years with an intex 18´ round, we will be upgrading to a 24´ x 54¨ round next summer. I am liking what I read about the Sharkline Matrix, but haven´t finalized that decision. I plan on purchasing the pool, pump, and filter this year to hopefully take advantage of...

Intex 18'x52" - need non Intex liner option?

I guess that is my last option. A new liner, if ever available, cost $209 while a new pool set cost about $780. Not an insignificant difference in my book.
