    Pump Not Moving Water

That's pretty much the idea. Link isn't working when I embed it. Here it is You can do it without the handy bladder thing, it's just not as effective. Stuff some cloth around the hose to fill up the rest of the space.

    Pump Not Moving Water

Could it be a clog in the line from the pool? Maybe run a garden hose through the line from the pool or from the pump side and see if you can dislodge something with the additional pressure from the hose.

@RonsPlc Are all of your deck segments alike (same dimensions)? It looks very similar to what I am building.

Show off your AGP Deck please!

I replaced the flexible pipes with hard plumbing today. I moved the bottom floor of pool deck in place temporarily so that I could make sure my plumbing would fit. I will need to move the concrete blocks and add supports once I'm sure it is where I want it. Any advice you have would be...

Show off your AGP Deck please!

Thank you for sharing your decks. You provided a lot to think about as well as inspiration. I decided to go with a modular design described in this article. The deck is essentially a series of trapezoids like the one below. My pool is a bit different from the example and I'm too cheap to buy...

Algae in my above ground pool

When SLAMing, how clear is clear? I had no overnight chlorine loss last night, combined chlorine is 0.5. I can see my feet through 4.5 feet of water. They are slightly hazy. I guess it can't hurt to keep the chlorine up at 12 for a couple more days to see if the water gets any clearer.

Some really beautiful work @Lisbek and @Tpopz . @Tpopz how did you figure the angles on the stair stringer that comes down at an angle? I'm in NJ and the government here is really adamant that we pay hundreds of dollars in permit fees to do anything more complex than mowing the lawn. I'm...

Show off your AGP Deck please!

I'm planning on building a deck around our agp. I'm curious to see what you all have built. Please show me pictures. One design element I'm definitely going to incorporate is the hinged Fascia (deck surround). I wonder if I could somehow slide the solar cover down through this and store it...

Algae in my above ground pool

Drained 2/3 to 3/4 of the pool and added water from the well back. Added chlorine (10%) approximately 200 oz (a jug and a half). New numbers: FC = 27 CC = 0 TC = 27 CYA = 20-30 (was about halfway between). Pat says round up, so that's 30. CH = 225 TA = 200 pH = 7.5 Chlorine >5 (next time, I'm...

    Frogs

Add a baby crocodile. Seriously though. If you take him several miles away and leave him in a similar environment, he won't be coming back.

Algae in my above ground pool

So the extra cya came from the pucks. Off to Walmart to get liquid bleach. I've looked online for sources of bleach, but they don't seem to publish the % sodium hypochlorite on most sites (Amazon for example).

Algae in my above ground pool

Dustin - I'd rather not replace half of the water, but I can if I need to. We're on well water, and there is no water shortage here, so the only real cost to me is electricity to pump the water out of the ground. I'll do that if folks here generally think that's a good idea.

Algae in my above ground pool

So according to Texas Splash, I need more chlorine. That's good to know because I was afraid it was too high. I'm not sure how to take a good picture of the water. This one kind of shows the color. This one kind of shows the color and how far down you can see. When I am in the water, I can...

Algae in my above ground pool

I ran the test again (3rd time). After adding DPD powder (R-0870), it turns a dark pink (almost red) 40 drops of R-0871 solution turns it clear. After 5 drops, it was a very faint pink this last time (possible I saw it as clear the last 2 times) I added 1 drop of R-0871 and it tuned clear...

Algae in my above ground pool

Hi all, I've been lurking here for a couple of years. We finally got a pool last year. Pool: 21 foot diameter above ground, 52 inch, appx. 4 foot deep. (appx 11,500 gal.). 1.5 HP Blue torrent pump PRC 90 filter (also Blue torrent) I got a chemical kit from TFT. Here are my numbers: FC = 20...
