For the last two evenings I've had little tree frogs in my pool. I can't seem to keep them out. Do I need to keep my FC higher because of them? I'm letting my filter run 24/7.

tree frogs are a fact of life....we have tree frogs right now in ours as well..it doesn't matter if your FC is 4 or 20...they'll still be in there. Good news is they kind of disappear in a couple weeks, not to be back the rest of the sumer
Well, I guess I don't mind sharing the pool with them as long as they can't hurt anything. My kids think they're "cute " lol 
yep - i had a few frogs on the top step with their heads sticking out every day last week (live in front of a nature preserve). As I did my morning walk around and scoop the pool, I scare them and they jump to their chlorine death.
I did use some extra concentrated bug concentrate stuff on the lawn a few days ago and I think that may have helped keep them away.

The frog story reminded me of my early teens (I'm 46 now) and my dad was "President" (HA! Chief Laborer, actually) of our neighborhood pool. The pool was massive - shallow kiddie end of about 30x40, swim lane middle section with 8 lanes, and a 20 foot diving well on the other end.
Every spring for about 4 years I would help open the pool and we would have to get 4 or 5 sump pumps and pump out the dark green water. There would always be hundreds (thousands?) of bullfrogs left in the diving well. They were all clamoring to GET OUT!! lol. We had to climb down there and pick them up with our bare hands and toss them into big plastic bins. The pool was next to a large creek and we had to cart the bins of bullfrogs down to the creek to release them.
I enjoyed chasing the bullfrogs but I recall all the neighborhood moms FREAKING out every year.

Welcome to TFP! I haven't been here very long, but glad you joined That is so funny about the bullfrogs!! I'm the mother of two boys, so there's no freaking out here. They've brought home just about everything that slithers, hops, crawls and sometime flies!!

They've brought home just about everything that slithers, hops, crawls and sometime flies!!About 3 or 4 summers ago, all of a sudden one evening, our pool was just crazy-loud with tree frogs. Never noticed them before that, but now, for most of the summer, it is so loud around our pool in the evening, it is sometimes hard to have a conversation! One night last summer, the kids went out with flashlights and saw 6 of the frogs riding on the pool floats around the pool. It was funny, but almost creepy how many there were that we could see. We have gotten used to the sound now, but it drove me nuts that first year. It starts at about 4 in the afternoon and goes until well past dark. Our pool is right next to the house, so it is very loud. They are easy to spot, so I suppose we could get rid of them one by one if we wanted, but we just let them be.
FWIW, I think that their appearance was possibly due to the fact that the shrubs around the pool have gotten larger over time and provide a place for them to hang out during the day, but that is just a guess.

Our frogs seem to be hanging out by the shade of the pool ladder during the day. Just like with you, they get real loud at night. I don't mind them...there are fewer mosquitos so they seem to be doing me a favor!

I like the sound of the tree frogs. Then again we only have 3 or 4.

A few years ago, I would have a minimum of 50 around my pool at any given night. More would be in the surrounding trees & in the Koi pond. There were so many, for a while we couldn't enjoy a night out by the pool because they'd be so loud & so many swimming in the pool.
All summer, we'd catch them in buckets & let them go in a neighborhood next to ours. Each year after that we've gotten fewer to the point where I've only fished one out of the pool this year.

Last June and July, I probably fished out an average of 5 frogs every other day from our skimmers. I do my best to save them, but that is not always possible.
This year, only 3 frogs in 4 days. But I did have to get a small garter snake out of the skimmer. I'll take frogs over snakes any day.

We bought a "Critter Skimmer" last year and it has cut down the number of alive and dead frogs we've fished out of the pool by about 90%. We've seen frogs popping out of the opening. It's pretty cute.
Wife checked on pool this morning and called me freaking out. Apparently we have dozens of little frogs in the pool and two giant bullfrogs. She's actively rescuing them as we speak.
Just fyi. If you handle a gray tree frog. DO NOT touch your eyes until you wash your hand with soap a couple of times. The toxin on their skin will cause extreme pain other wise. I am speaking from experience!!!! 
Last year we had 2 for the season, they were the dog's best friends. She has been looking for them every day so far this year...walking around and around the edge checking the water.

Our pool has a walkway all the way around it. Every evening, just as it is getting dark, you can go out and see them lined up like little soldiers on the walkway!

I think my dead frog in the skimmer count is up to 10 and pool's only been open two weeks. Nice to know the chlorine is doing it's job. They're all little guys with a body about as big as a penny, likely tabpoles from this spring from nearby golf course lakes.
